Welocme all 3 of you ladies and best wishes for a smooth recovery. Karen -
Hi everyone. I don't know if I have ever introduced myself. I think it has to do with CRS(can't remember stuff). Anyway, I will be 64 in July. And I live in Lakeland, Fl. I moved here to my retirement home in 2006 right before the housing market crash. It was good for selling my home in Maryland, but really not so good for purchasing a home in Lakeland. Anyway, I had surgey on Oct. 30, 2009. I had lapband revision on Oct 14, 2011. Before my revision, I had met my goal, since revision, I have gained back 15 lbs. So, now, I am fighting to loose that and gain my power back. My surgeon has filled me to 5 cc, and said that anymore would cause me to be overfilled. I know others have been filled more, but I guess I am sensitive to the fills. I am glad to meet you and hope to hear more from you as time goes by. Karen

Best wishes to you both. I had revison on my band in October 2011. I have regaiend 15 lbs, and have been struggling ever since. But, now I have plateaued, so hopefully I can start loosing again. I have 5cc and surgeon will not fill further as he sees me in the "green zone" and anymore will not go down as proved to me with barium. He had to have me drink water to get it to move. SO, I struggle along. Best wishes and keep in touch. Wish that I had any reassurance for you, tho. Karen

Pain In Middle Of Back - Relief Needed
kll724 replied to MammaMinty's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree with the op, you need to walk as much as possible. I walked the hopsital corridors 5-6 times while I was there. I had an overnight stay, I was up at 3 am because I coud not sleep, I walked the halls. Best wishes. karen -
You are doing great! Congrats to you, your surgeon sounds agressive, that is good. Be careful, don't get your band too tight, remember to ask for a slight unfill if that happens. Best wishes. Karen

kll724 replied to Lianne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am doing good. I have no trbl but obviously watch everything I put into my mouth. My surgeon tells me I am in the "green zone". I have gained some, but am holding now. I want to loose what I gained but he won't do it with any fill as any tighter, it would not go down, as barium needed water help! So. it is all will power for me now. I am still walking at least 45-60 minutes a day. I am whole lot healthier than when I started, let me tell you. Only one getting winded in my walks, now, is my grand daughter who sometimes ventures on Grandma's walks. Take care, I hope that your results are what you are looking for. Karen -
Yeah! I agree with the othrs, but some new undies, now! Congrats, Karen

How Do You Know If Your Band Has Slipped?
kll724 replied to Jonna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A slip, usually, will cause problems w=eating and drinking. You might, also, get night GERD, and coughing slime. If you think you have a slip, see your surgeon. But, it doens't sound like a slip. My gallbladder, on the other hand, pain was in the middle of my chest. I did not have pain on the right or left. And didn't want to eat, anything, while I was having an attack. Best wishes, Karen -
I would definitely say you are in the "green zone". I would wait for a few weeks or a month to see what happens. 6 lbs in 3 weeks is awesome! You do not want to be too tight. Best wishes whatever you decide! Karen
-
Congratulations! I just viewed your picture. very prettty, an dyou should be proud! Karen
-
Woohoo! to you all, you are startting with a band. Keep it up, but be aware of plateau. Don't be upset, the weight will comeoff if you follow the rules. Start walking, if its to soon for other exercise. Best wishes to you all. Karen

Just as drinking with your meas is a learned habit, not drinking is too! You have to remove th ewater, or liquids. When going out, and they ask what you want to drink, say nothing! Best wishes for your "recovery". Karen

Congrats, B-52, you have done a great job and are an inspiration to many on the forums. Enjoy maintanance, it can be a bugger! But, as in it all, you should have no trouble!! Karen

kll724 replied to beane007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Bandiversary Today, But Dr Wants To Take It Out ) =
kll724 replied to Lianne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi judych' My surgeon went in and adjusted my band surgically. He did not have to replace my existing band. He had orginally taken all fill out which will, at times, let the band readjust itslf. But mine did not, so he had prepared for the worst, which was to replace it But, when he got in the operation, he just had to readjust it. Hope that explains it. Karen -
just saw a commercial for it. It has 9 grams proein, zero fat and comes in 3 flavors. I was thinking it would be great for our cear liquid diets! Karen
