When I had my 1st drink, it was at least 8 months following my surgery. I did get buzzed after 1 drink, so much so that I had to have a friend drive me home. I don't drink often, so I can't even tell you what I drink! I stick to wine, or a margarita tho' if I do! Karen

Motivational Poster - The Butterfly
kll724 replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some of us just took a course that was offered to us. Their emblem is a butterfly too! Very nice, 'cause we all are trying to become our butterflies! Karen -

Are you feeling that way because you need to get some sun? Sometimes lack of sunshine during the winter causes people to get depressed. But most of us are not doctors, so we can't give medical advice. If you think that it is more drastic than sunshine, see your medical team. Best wishes, you seem to be doing a great job! Karen

Best wishes to you, as cheryl indicated maintenance is tough. Just follow your guidelines and ask for help if you need it! Karen

How exciting for you! Follow your surgeon's guidelines, you will not regret it. More than likely you will feel gas pains, walking is essential for that. Best wishes, Karen -
BariatricPal Local Chapters…a New Way to Connect!
kll724 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgeon's office offers support, already. It is not convenient for me due to the date and time of them and distance, he is an hour away and they are either in the evening or Saturday, both not something I am willing to do at this time. Perhaps if it was set up with people I "know" and in a closer more convenient area, I would love to attend. Karen -
Yah hoo! Great NSV!!!!I bet your eye doctor was excited, too! Congrats, Karen

Post-Op Liquid Diet?
kll724 replied to fghtffyrdmns's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Karen. How much did you lose during the 4 weeks? : ) Dang, I really don't remember the answer to that. I did not lose a lot of weight because I had previously been dieting, so my body was not totally in shock, I guess maybe 5 or 10 lbs. Best wishes,Karen -
Be careful with juicing, you can over calorie with them too! My hubby thought lots of carrots and apples would be great for him, 1s he started turning orange and then he gained a lot of weight, too!

Foods that aren't good after band.
kll724 replied to Faded Design's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
B-52, I am jealous because I never achieved lack of interest in food. Yes, there are foods that the thought turns my stomach. I can't even fathom steal of any kind. I used to love steak, lobster tail, shrimps, double quarter pounder with cheese! I have no interest now. best wishes to lack of interest in foods! -

I am sorry that you are having this problem, I hope that you can find, not only a closer doctor, a doctor that is will to work with you! Best wishes, Karen -
If you are not up and walking, often, you can move the gas by doing so. Also, try gas-x and a heting pad. Best wishes, Karen

Welcome to the forum. Best advise is to follow your surgeon's guidelines for your diet and followup!Best wishes, Karen

My surgeon keeps us on liquids for 4 days after a fill. So, it is 2 days clear and 2 days full. If you were following somsthing like that, you probably would not eat any real food until today or tomorrow. But, seems that you have not, so, I would suggest that you are swollen, and maybe need to try following a liquid diet of sorts. best wishes, Karen

kll724 replied to BandedBrunette481's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

How to Stop Losing...I'm as low as I want to go.
kll724 replied to PrettyThick1's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Prettythick, there are as many answers as there was questions! Appears that you have to do what is best for you! I had a slip, after reaching goal, and then ended up gaining back some weight, so I am still "technically" in maintenance but trying to lose a bit of my weight. I keep my band at 5cc because I can't tolerate tighter. Others, keep a tight band. It depends on you and your bariatric team! Best wishes, Karen
