How Do You Mentally Make Yourself Start Fresh?
kll724 replied to JinTx's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Best wishes, I agree with myturn, you probably do need motivational meetings. I have not been, but have lots of support locally(daughter, son both had surgery). I know that when I was doing WW, if I went to weekly meetings I did better than the time I did only the weigh in. Also, I come on here everyday for the motivation it give me. Others, have recommended the "5 day pouch test". Good luck, Karen -
New Here, In The Early Stages Of "thinking About It"
kll724 replied to Sphinx's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
welcome Sphinx. Most insurance companies will take your co-morbitities in to account, some, like my son-in-law's will not. That being said, most of us have the yoyo effect of weightloss, that is why lapband is so good for us. Good luck on your research and search for the right thing for you. Karen -

judych, go buy some new pants, you will feel better about your weight loss accomplishments! I remember doing the same thing, I was wearing 18w, and then tried on 14 becasue I was going on vacation and the others were looking bad. I bought new pants and gave the others to someone they would fit! Karen Congrats to your 1st NSV, luck2bLaura! You are doing great! Best wishes to you both! Karen -
You both are doing magnificent! Karen

It's called head hunger! But, when you are only 1 day post op, everything is liquids, so you can drink freely all day long. There is no such thing in all liquid diets as not drinking 30 minutes before eating! You are not eating! Best wishes, and hang in there. It will get better. Calm down! Karen

Yeah! if you are not having any other trouble, it might be a cold! But, it can be a sign of a slip and reflux. if you think you are having band trbls, August 28th is a long time to wait.

Congrats, you have done magnificent! Karen

Sounds like you are doing a good job of losing. Your surgeon must be very conservative to only give 1 cc at a time. I hope that you are not paying for fills right now. Well best wishes, and keep on going! you are doing great! Karen

kll724 replied to thetxdiva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am almost 3 years out. i still burp, a lot. It is just a thing we do. It could be worse. I heard an old poem when I was a kid. "Excuse me from the bottom of my heart, if it came otu the other way it would have been a f_____!" :-)Karen -

i think that if you have a history of gallbladder problems, it is a good idea. But,I would be cautious if I were you. but since you are self pay, It might not be a bad idea! Best wishes whatever you decide. Karen I pretty much agree with Elcee on this! Karen

Well, God bless you! I had to have an hysterectomy at 32, but the surgeon was able to leave my ovaries. He did not wan to put me thru menopause at that early age. I understand you have mitigating circumstances. Can you get any outside help wit the baby and support for the other problems you have? Hang in there and come here to seek our support anytime. Hugs again. Karen

Self-Pay How Soon Can I Have The Surgery?
kll724 replied to dj112's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going to jump in here, suesixter, I go to Dr. Grossbard, in Zephyrhills, Florida. He is great. He does surgery at Dade City hospital. I can recommend him as he did not only mine, but also, my daughter and my son's surgery. Best wishes, whoever you decide on. karen -
Bets wishes to you! I don't havw any experience with the problem you have, but just wanted to send a hug!!Karen

You look amazing! I would never have guessed that you are the same person. You look 20 years younger, too! Congratulations on the "new" you! Karen

You seem to be doing fine. Calm down, I know that you would like the weight to fall off but that just doesn't happen. Are you exercising, and eating your protein, and keeping a food diary? maybe you have too many calories. You are very tiny person, and even though you feel you have a lot of weight to lose, the closer you get to goal, the harder it is to lose. best wishes! Karen

kll724 replied to sjwillow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hear you Stevegoad. My husband will not have lapband surgery done. he has watched me over the last 3 years an dis not wanting to retch(he has always hated doing that). But, I am so happy with the results and he likes them too. I may eventually talk him into the sleeve. I will be the 1st to tell you, it ain't easy! You are doing great and congrats on your weightloss! Karen -
Best Smoothie Blender? Best Smoothie Ratios?
kll724 replied to Conley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Like everyone said, also, love my Ninja! I use frozen fruit and Joe Montana suggested using Joint Juice in a smoothy. I use it in place of other liquid. I add powdered protein mix and that is my breakfast. Yummy! Karen -
My surgeon puts the needle in with fluid and then has me hold it in place while I stand and walk to the floroscope. He then has me drink the barium swallow, nasty white stuff, and watch it either go down or not. If it goes down smoothly then he adjust the amount, if not going down, he will remove some. I love the floro fill. Best wishes.Karen

I can't say anything about an ER unfill. But I am surprised that that is the response you received from the office. My surgeon would have met me at his office or has been the oncall at the hospital. I have never had anyone else do my band except him or his assistant. Best wishes. Karen
