How supportive is/was your spouse
movetolose replied to USMCwifeandTEACHER's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say that my hubs has been on board 100% from day one.....went with me to the seminar, the appts, we did the on line research together. He does make 'mistakes' when eating infront of me from time to time. He's human and tries so all is forgiven. Have you talked to your hubs about it bothering you and being hard? maybe he doesn't relaize? -
So I saw the sign for Frozen Hot choclate at D&D and my mouth started watering. I didn't even ask for the nutritional information cause I knew it would have been a whole days calories for me. I decided I was going to make one on my own, I had to or I was going to break down and buy one. Mission accomplished....Here's what I did 1 Eas Carb control Choco shake 1 pack swiss miss No Sugar Added Hot Choco mix 1 serving benefiber 1 serving beneprotein and ice (I used 6ish cubes) Blended in the blender, poured in a frozen mug and added some fat free whip cream...... (not including the FF WC) Cal 210 Fat 4 Carb 18 Dietary Fiber 6 Sugar 7 Protein 24 Enjoy!!!!! *ETA* Ok I'd say total win......I looked up the D&D verison Cal 430 Fat 45 Carb 95 Dietary Fiber2 Sugar 77 Protein 7

Stalled, but an NSV
movetolose replied to seniorsleever's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
BOOO to the stall! I hate those! WTG with the jeans, sizes are dropping so you are probably gaining muscle mass!!! -
That's fantastic! WTG!!!

How long does the stall last after you add weight training? I added it to my regimen on 5/2 and have been at a stall since then. I know that's normal because I am building muscle but it's still frustrating. I can feel slight changes in the way my clothes are fitting so I know the inches are going but when will that number move? My plan was to hide the scale for 30 days because I knew this would happen but I thought I could show restraint and not hope on. Boy was I wrong and now that I know I am at a stall I am obsessed. and I am getting plently of Proteins and Water.....80-130g of Protein (80-90g a day is average, that's supplementing with shakes and shots) and 80-100g of water (90g being average). I measure/weigh and log all my meals.

a burger on a plate? I am going on for dinner tonight for my husbands birthday and I just want to order a cheeseburger on a plate. I can eat them at home (well 3 oz) and it's something I greatly enjoy so I want to order one for dinner just on a plate. I plan on asking for a to go box when they bring my dinner so I can cut off only what I will eat and box the rest to avoid the uncomfortbale 'was it not good conversation?' Will they think I am nuts???

movetolose replied to Clarabelle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

I am looking for a place to input ingredients that will calculate nutirional fact for me. So far the only sites that I have found want you to select from thier drop down of products but I was unable to find my fist 2 products of my recipe in the list. I don't mind having to add the calories, carbs and protien in myself but once I am able to cook things like family dinners I want to make sure I know my amounts to make sure I am getting enough. Any help???

Anyone started pre-op diet with band surgeon then switched to sleeve?
movetolose replied to Rainydayz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the 3 mon with Aetna. I had my nutritionist write notes for my excerising and had no probelms with Aetna I was approved in just over 48hrs. My appts were also not spaced over 12 weeks. My first appt was 11/22 and my last was 1/17. It was submitted about 4pm in 1/24 and I had my approval about 1130am on 1/27. -
How do you get in the protein?
movetolose replied to sunshine6855's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was on the mushies 2 protien shakes were part of my daily requirements. -
HELP ME OUT TOOOOOOOOOO
movetolose replied to Karthika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you are at a stall. How is your activity to intake level? I am noticing a lot of people say if they have increased activity they need to adjust thier food in take to accomodate. That's just from reading here not from personal experience. -
can i have an atkins shake today?
movetolose replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, they just don't want you using Milk to make your shakes. I have used Atkin since my pre-op. Drink up!!! -
OMG... not sure if this a NSV or not
movetolose replied to wareagle40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a first! You don't need anyone who only wants you for the way you look!!! Congrats on the 30lbs, keep up the good work! -
Help! 10months post op- 8month long plateau!!!
movetolose replied to Syry180's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am no expert either but I agree with mememeee, I think you need more for your workouts. Are you meeting with a nutritionist? I go monthly. Might not be a bad idea. I hope you break the stall soon, I can imagine it's infuriating!!!! -
I am DYING to have food but then I think food got me into this mess to begin with...... Anyone else want 'real food' and then feel guilty over it after? When will I get to the point where I can eat and not beat myself up over it? I would LOVE a steak and cheese grinder, ummm....hold the grinder LOL I would love nothing more then to get one and scrape the insides onto a plate and eat some steak and cheese. My post-op doesn't move me to a regular diet til week 6, I'm almost there. Please tell me I am not alone in my inner struggle......

has anyone noticed how great stuff tastes?
movetolose replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone laughed when I got excited about moving from all shakes to 'mushies'. Normal people aren't excited to eat something called mushie......well then call me abnormal cause I was tickled pink!!!!! -
Call Aetna them selves to ask. My information was submitted to Aetna at 430 on a Monday and I had my answer from them on Thursday AM. After I got off the phone with Aetna I called my Dr to schedule the appt and they didn't even know I was approved yet!!!

Hiatal Hernia repair - healing
movetolose replied to Beadingnurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if there is any difference as only have the experience of recovering after having both done. I didn't have any issues with it at all. I have flown thru recovery and haven't had any problems with food progression thus far. I hope you have the same experience.
