    Anyone take topomax for weightloss

PLEASE BE CAREFUL - I also have a band and I was prescribed Topamax (Topirimate) for migraines. My doctor warned me of several serious side effects. A full list can be found on the Topamax website. www dot topamax.com/tools-resources--safety-information.html This is a direct quote. "TOPAMAX® may cause eye problems. Serious eye problems include: sudden decrease in vision with or without eye pain and redness; blockage of fluid in the eye causing increased pressure in the eye (secondary angle closure glaucoma). These eye problems can lead to permanent loss of vision if not treated. You should call your healthcare professional right away if you have any new eye symptoms." I took a low dose for about 4 weeks, my headaches went away, I lost 2 lbs and began seeing "trailers." My eye grabbed an image and overlapped itself. Thanks to my doctors warning I immediately stopped the medication. It is now about 3 months later and I only see "trailers" when I am really tired. For those of you who don't know, Topamax is an amazing drug when it works. It was developed for seizures, migraine prevention came later and weight loss is a common side effect. Best of luck.

    Really Struggling

Hi there, I also have Fibro & other health problems that cause pain and exhaustion. I had my band done about 2 1/2 years ago. I have the same problem, so I started keeping a diary. I realized I had to wait longer between taking my pills and eating. I will admit it still happens for no apparent reason. My PCP thinks it may be the Fibro. This may sound silly since you sound like you are eating a lot of liquids, but is it possible you need slow down? I have found that to help the most, followed by eating foods that force me to chew a lot. BTW Greek yogurt (15gm of protein) seems to thin out a bit if it sits on the counter a bit. If you are like me the meds create all kinds of problems. I'm on morphine & zanaflex so constipation is an issue. I found that taking magnesium supplements, stool softner & fiber gummies every day helps. Let me know if that helps.
