I had my surgery in Mexico. I have had 1 fill and didn't really like the doctor that did it here in the Dallas area (Grand Prairie). I also may have problem with my band, so I need to find someone that will see me. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had my surgery in May 2009. My first fill was about 5 weeks later. But just recently, the past 3 weeks - I can't eat or drink. Gradually. Now I can't even drink anything. I've made an appointment on Friday to get it checked out. I thought maybe it was drainage blocking it or something, I have bad allergy/sinus issues. Yesterday I got sick, a cold. Last night, I threw up about 15 times - tmi, sorry, but it was the color of red wine, a little thicker. Anyone know what that is? Or why?? It can't be something I ate, I have not eaten. This morning I was ok, still can't drink really. But I didn't feel that uncomfortable stuck feeling I've had for the past weeks. Then I took another cold medicine pill and this afternoon I threw up again, same color. I am going Friday, but I don't like my doctor, he didn't do the surgery. I had it done in Mexico. So I thought if anyone had any thoughts.....:tongue_smilie: I am miserable. But, I have lost 15 lbs since this started. (down a total of 32, I'd like to loose 40 more and keep off what I have already lost!!) Thanks! Susan

Yes I realized that yesterday, I'm back to low carb slim fast and jello! Oh well, it's still helping to keep off the weight I lost from not eating. Thanks everyone - it sure is nice to have "friends" out there that UNDERSTAND!!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Yes - my doctor took out some yesterday. I was at 2.25 and now its 1.75 - so much better. But I still had bad heart burn bad last night - he gave me a rx for Nexium. And today I tried to eat a few bites of thin crust pizza - it didn't work out. but liquids and soft foods are pretty much ok - still slowly. I know how miserable that is - you should get some taken out, at least call and ask your doctor what he thinks. It is such a HORRIBLE feeling, I know!!! Good luck, don't wait too long so you don't do any permenant damage!!! Susan

thank you Kiz! It has been really horrible - I kept thinking if I could just make it another day, maybe it will be different tomorrow. And I was wondering if it was just me for the first few days - then hoping it would get better. I feel so relieved that I won't have that "stuck" feeling CONSTANTLY. I'm actually excited to get the un-fill. Just have to be so careful not to undo what I've done so far. Thanks again! good Luck! susan:thumbup:

I'm going to my doctor tonight. He said it is drainage that is causing my problems. he will empty my band and wait for all to go back to normal, then I can fill it back up - about 1/2 of where it is now.

Thanks - you are right, its different every day!! I went to just liquids yesterday all day - and its better for sure. I actually drank a thin milk shake last night and it was fine, as long as I went somewhat slowly. Maybe I've just irritated it or someone mentioned that allergies (drainage, etc.) could cause it also. Best bet - go in and get it checked. Thanks! and Good Luck!! -
I had my surgery in May of 2009, and my first fill (and only fill) sometime at the end of June. No problems - except the normal too big of bite or thought bread would work. Stupid stuff like that. But in the past week and a half to two weeks, I'm getting where I can't drink or eat. I had trouble eating chicken broth for lunch today. This whole weekend, I couldn't eat anything and finally figured out how to get food out - yuck. Seems like my band has gotten tighter - anyone else have that problem? Or know what would cause it? I lost 7 lbs over the weeknd, but I'm worried that something is wrong.

Don't worry with that - I'll ask them when I go in. I was just wondering - that would make a lot of sense! Thanks!! -

Did she get them to fill it back up? This is a gross question, sorry. But is the mucus thin (really thin) and clear? Sort of like the yolk part of an egg right when you crack it open? -

Kiz - Thank you! I've called one place, hopefully I can go in the next few days to get it checked out. I think you are right - hopefully if its something not right it can be fixed easily....better safe than sorry either way. Donna - funny you say that (not really) but that is one of the 2 biggest worries....(the other is something major wrong, since I did this out of pocket, insurance wouldn't cover) And congratulations! 75 lbs - that is awesome!!! How long did it take?
