I am two weeks out from my surgery and am on a pureed diet. I am eating pureed foods and feel as though they are getting stuck in my esophagus...I hate my hiatal hernia repaired during the lapband surgery so I don't understand this feeling??

I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow and I am barely drinking protein shakes because I am tired of the taste. I did them the first two weeks as much as I could...I wasn't hungry at all the first week and a half and now I am hungry all the time...I couldn't have the ricotta cheese until now, I am on pureed foods..I have pureed everything from tuna salad to chix salad to get my protein...I live on cottage cheese...As for napping I hear ya...Take all the rest you can get. It sounds like you are doing great...keep up the good work...

Ignore those people because what you are doing is going to good for you not for them...I have only had a negative response from a few people, two women at my vet's office who were bigger than me and my so called friend who is heavy and she is so jealous!!! Good Luck you will do great and tell who you want...Celebrate this major decision and great life change!!

I had my surgery on 10/19/09 and it is now 11/1/09. I am recovering great. However, I think I can feel the band, especially when I sneeze or take a deep breath like when I yawn...is anyone else experiencing this? did the band slip?

I had surgery almost two weeks ago and that pain in your shoulder is the CO2 that pump you up with when they do the surgery. It runs along you veins all through your body and rises up to the shoulder. I had horrible pain for days in my shoulder. It subsided after about a week. Do not take aspirin, it is a blood thinner and can upset your stomach. You should call your doctor and request pain meds. I got sent home with Dilaudid and it worked wonders. good luck!!
