I had my surgery in Sept. 06 & have a total of 5lbs. Have had 3 fills, that are great for about two to three days then I'm back to normal as to the amount of food I can eat, if I allow myself. I'm also extremely crippled up with osteoarthritis in both legs, making getting around & most kinds of exercise very hard. Some days the depression is unbearable. Plan to talk to the Dr. about a leak or there being a problem, but till then I'm really fed up!

Yoda, Where is home & how close to Ottawa does you're sister live? We're in Kingston at the present time, but originally from "The Ottawa Valley". This anywhere near you? Kate.

Sivan. thanks for the moral support, it really means alot., but as for changing Drs.. where I live U R just lucky to even get into see one. I've put feellers out in other near by cities , but nothing. Orthopedic Surg. must be the most in demand Drs. out there. But knowing that U people are out to help me through the bad days (and there are alot of those!) SURE MEANS ALOT! I will start posting from now on . Kate.:clap2:

Sivan, I am going through just exactly what you are going through. It is so bad that that getting around my house is a challenge! Infact I wasn't anywhere near my weight of 290lbs when my knees started to act up, but by the time they where bothering me enough to see an Orthopedic Surg. !st. I was to young for knee replacement. & the 2nd. time far too heavy. Now I'm ready for a wheel chair! Needless to say I had to give up my job. & the majority of what at one time was a very active life. Now I don't get out much at all. My majore goal with the band is take enough lbs. off to please avery picking & unplesant Dr. ( who I get the impression has very little use for FAT people!) Anyway his his suggestion to me was get into the pool ATLEAST 3 TIMES / WK. And so far so good, I'm down about 15lbs. & do feal better. Sure hope this helps alittle. oh & and hand weigts are good for upper body, those U can do sitting. Kate

Neenagh I'm not sure of the size, on the card it says ref: B 20250 & SN 12128002 max fill volume is 10 cc. I forget how many Dr. C. put in yesterday, I just remember asking for more & him saying NO! And I have no idea what fitday is, but if will help I am more than willing to try anything! kattiegirl

I was banded Sept. 12. had my first fill yesterday. but like I said I am starting to have alot of doubts. At the moment I can eat just as normal as I did before & it doesn"t seem right Has anyone else gone thru this?

Green: Is this a different clinic than Dr. Coburn's? (I'm not from T.O.) Wish they had booked my fills that way. I'm going to phone next week & tell Rose that I'm ready for another fill! ( in the back of my mind I keep wondering if this is going to work for me. U said U lost 13lbs. I have not lost 1lb.) since I started all this, & that includes four days in hospital having the band put on! ( I can't do anything the regular way!)

I too am new not only at the pc. but also to the banding! Have not been done yet. Why Mexico & what did everything go well?

It's Got To Go: My heart goes out to you, but I have to admit that it feels kind of nice to know that u are going through this with me! Now when I get that urge to cheat I will think of you !

Am I the only one who had to spend 3 wks on opti-fast & green veggies ? Black tea or coffee , but nothing else! {Did I fall off ? YES ! } Not terribly but now that I'm into my last week the guilt is beginning to get to me ! Sure hope I haven't screwed anything up!

Havn't been able to understand alot of the messages, don't know the lingo.Haven't been banded yet. date set for Sept. 12. On that horrible diet for 3 wks. and not doing so good! The longest 3 wks. of my life! Trying to get my son ready for university and starving to death , is not easy. Let's face it, starving to death while doing anything is not easy! Please tell me it gets easier once the band is on? :hungry:

Please tell me why u all have selected Lapband over Gastricbypass? The weight seems to come off faster & the big thing Ohip covers it. I had no choice due to other stomach surgeries.

Dr. Cobourn is the only one I know of so far. Will probably get more names when I get there, hopefully! This gets more & more frightening, the more I talk about it! Am I the only one that's felt this way?

Yoda, I'm being done in Toronto, but I live in Kingston, a 3 hour drive. I'm also being done in hospital not in the clinic, I'm one of those who can never do things nice & simple like everyone else !
