I am 40 years old and have been struggling with weight all my life. I have tried numerous diets including Nutrisystem and experience some weight loss, but always gain it back. I am a full time student who works full time with a daughter at home. After seeing a lot of commercials for the lap band on TV I decided to see if my insurance paid for the procedure. I was kind of bummed when I learned that I have to do a monitored diet for 6 months prior to surgery approval, but if its what I have to do I will do it. I just weighed myself for the first time in months and I was 298. I am heavier than when I went into the hospital to have my daughter. I was 293 that day. I got out of a destructive relationship and moved home to be closer to my family. I have an incredibly supportive partner who loves me. I have dealt with my depression and gotten medicated. I am in charge of my life and am ready to make a change that will help me reach my goals of living a healthy life and being a strong role model for my young daughter who is already struggling with weight. I just graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business Administration and am getting ready to start my Masters in Human Resource Management. My life is great, I just need some help controlling my weight. I am ready to do this! Look out world, here I come!
