Has anyone heard of Dr. Nilesh Patel in Corpus Christi Texas? I am scheduled for a seminar of his saturday 11/7. So Far I have heard positive feedback but I was hoping maybe someone here knows of him. Thank you.

How long did it take from the time you did your seminar to the time you were given your surgery date? What happens between then? I have my seminar this saturday. My Dr referred me last week and my insurance has already approved me but I was curious what will go on from after the seminar. Thank you for your replies.

Wow,thank you everyone. I have a pre auth from medicare. I am disabled due to a broken back. I have been overweight all my life and have looked into this surgery for over a year. I wanted to do it and then would say nah I can lose the weight. Just kept going back and forth now I finally scheduled the seminar and go saturday. I know it may be awhile before I have surgery but I have no idea what I will be going through. Thanks for all the replies. -
I am curious what entails and how long it takes before I can actually schedule a date for surgery with medicare. I am on disability. I have been doing a supervised diet with my DR. Will I have to also do another one with the bariatric surgeon? I have no idea what happens and am looking for some input. Thank you.

Hi everyone! I am from Port Aransas Texas. I haven't been banded yet as I just started the process. After seeing all your stories I am starting to feel a bit better about getting this done. Congratulations to everyone on their successful weightloss. I can't wait to join you.

Hi I am Sandra and I am 46. I have been overweight all my life. I am now at 210 but it's not my weight that concerns me the most, it is my diabetes, high blood pressure and sluggish thyroid. I don't want to die like my mother did (stroke). I walk a couple of miles everyday and ride my bike everywhere but my eating habits aren't the best. I have researched over the past year gastric bypass and the Lap Band. I have decided to do the lap band. I was finally approved through Medicare (I am disabled) so I am just starting out. Anyway I hope that wasn't too long. It is really great to have this site here and Thank You.
