Too Tight! I had a fill last february 09 and about 6 months later had some concern that i might be too tight due to some soreness in my throat, coughing at night, not able to eat meat or vegis often and some sliming? I ended up going to doc and making a commitment in September to get a endoscopy and see what was up, he would then adjust me. Then i found out my deductable was $2,000 and decided to wait until first of the year and until last week had not moved foward on that plan. That whole year i had 4 acute sinus infections requiring antibiotics and then again this year it was totally uncontrolable with fever everyday, sick,sick sick and to boot i couldnt eat and at all times exhausted. I was about to go in for alergy testing because i had burned through the strongest of antibiotics. I was starting to get sick again after 3 rounds of antibiotics and noticed amoungst the severe problems I had pain on upper left side, a rash that i was scratching there as well. So that brought me to the lap band doc. After i told him what i had been through, he said:sneaky:that all of that was caused by my band being too tight and what the heck happed to the game plan in September where i was going to be adjusted at the endoscopy? So he imediatly totally emptied my band that was this past monday! So far I have no burning in esophogas!, Fever Gone, Sinus's clear! and the pain is slowly subsiding in my upper left side where the band is... I feel better than i have felt in 8 months and just hope that all will be well in 30 days when my doc says he will SLOWLY refill me:blink: and rightfully so! I cant tell you how many days i have been in bed because of being ill! Please be aware of these symptoms because i have never read this before in a blog! Don't go through what i went through. Oh and what the docs say that if your too tight you will eat mushy carbs and not loose weight! YEP! that was me:blushing:

Oh and I had my band in 06 and just this last year i have had problems. I was also back stitched by Rambaut and dont think i have slippage.

I am having the same thing, pain is sometimes really bad. Like a ice cream headache at the site where the band is tightened. i can eat to... It just hurts. I am making an appt after jan 1 to cost one time on deductable and count for the year. Keep me posted on what it is on your end and i will do the same. Yikes

2nd part! The surgery, hospital,staff and doctor was outstanding. I asked the doctor to take special care on the inscissions because I was a boater and wore two piece bathing suits or would after the weight loss. He did just that! I have very little scaring and now at my two year reunion I am 4lbs from my original goal of 155 currently at 159ish... Never not one day do I regret having this surgery. For me it WAS the solution. I am mindfull to have it adjusted now 1 time a year and have a new goal of 145 for next year this time. That will be it for me I will be in a loose 7-8 size as I can fit in them now. Going from a tight 13-14 to a very loose 9-10 boardering on a 7-8 makes me:thumbup:... To people out there thinking about this. If you are a volume eater, then this is the answer! Go for it:thumbup:

At age 48 I had tried every diet I think out there. Depressed about my constant failures and concerns about turning 50 and not being able to get my body back in shape, also I was going through menapause as well, which by the way was instant thank god! LOL Lucky me. As soon as I first heard of lapband which was in a small article in a magazine I began researching, within 30 days I had made the decision that this would work for me. Unfortunately I did not qualify in the US as I was just under the minimum requirement, also when I went to a local Florida facility these doctors only had about 200 surgeries under their belt. I also was shown the scars from their patients and thought it was showing more of a scar with the US docs. I researched and personally made the choice of Dr Rumbaut. He had at the time 2000 surgeries under his belt, had trained years prior and his practice is at the hospital our president would go to if he was in Mexico and became ill. Lapband surgery was the best decision i have every made in my life! I was 48 and tried everything and spent thousands and thousands on failed attempts. I went aug of 2006 to Mexico and had the most wonderful experience ever in any hospital... It went perfect and so has my lapband weight loss. I will be at two year aniversary in two months and am within 10lbs from goal.. I believe this is the only thing that works. It is if you are a quantity eater an answer to your prayers. You have no choice to loose and your most often not hungry and when you are it really is funny how little you can eat and survive and be full. I eat 1/4 of anyone else at the table and it takes me on average 45 min. Don't give up years of your life by being heavy. Do this thing! I have never been happier, healthier and confident about myself.....(<:

My band has been interesting, boy these suckers have their own personality dont they? First of all i had 2.5 taken out and then put in after my carrot stuck north of band event. Since then i have lost 4lbs very, very slowly. I think my band is perfect (I have 4cc band). I was up at clearwater south beach two weekends ago and had gotten hungry and ate some peanuts. BIG,BIG mistake! I thought i was going to have to go to emergancy room. Projectile vomiting off and on for more than 1 hour. So i didnt eat any solids for a week. Now it seems my band has tightened of all things and I can only eat (very,very) slowly maybe 1/2 cup food and absolutely no white flour products,etc. want to keep it this way until i drop down to desired weight!....Anyone set at this perfect setting and loving it?
