  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary tamiew!

  4. I've lost 50 pounds in 4 months. Follow the rules and 20-30 pounds is doable!:smile2:
  5. I have had no problem telling people about being banded. As a result I get a tremendous amount of positive comments! It is exciting and motivating to see the weight come off and the nice things people say to me really helps my self esteem and makes me more determined to get rid of the weight. I am sure there will be people that will make not so nice comments but thats their problem. I got banded for health reasons and I don't really care one way or the other what people think.

    Banded in october--updates please

I was banded on Oct 30 and have lost 30 # post surgery. I had my first fill last week. I am noticing some restriction now. I am also noticing that there are certain foods that go down hard, like boiled eggs and pot roast. I am working on taking small bites and chewing thoroughly before I swallow. That seems to help quite a bit. My biggest problem is with drinking enough liquid. I know I should be drinking more than I do, but I just can't seem to get it all down. A work in progress I guess. I have had a few times where I just wanted to eat everything in sight, but I have been able to take a deep breath and distract myself by doing something creative instead or I just go to bed and sleep (I work full time and go to college full time so I am sleep deprived all the time! I am really glad I did this procedure. I didn't realize until I started seeing the weight come off just how much I had lost any hope of losing enough weight to really make a difference!

    scared of getting a fill

I had my first fill today and it was nothing like I expected. I was scared too. I was afraid I would get sick or not be able to swallow or.... I don't know. The PAC is the one who did the fill. We were chatting about how I should eat as she did the fill and I was amazed at how quickly it happened. I just felt a prick as she punctured the skin to access the port and that is it! She took out the 1/2 cc they had put in during surgery to prime the band and filled it with 3 1/2 cc. I am feeling fine. Not hungry or anything. I tried to eat some cream soup for dinner and could not finish even 1/2 of the serving I had. I just had some pudding and it went down fine. So, bottom line, don't be afraid. It might not be as bad as you think!:w00t:
  8. I had my surgery on Friday and returned to work on Monday. The first day was kind of rough, but after that I was fine.
