I have always been overweight. I can remember my mom suggesting to go to the size with a 'W' on the number, so it will give me more moving room. In high school, I was teased slightly but I always stood up for myself so people respected me in some sense. I decided to do the lap band after my parents and grandparents offered to help me pay.  I am so grateful for them letting me do this. I went to Dr. Clay Wellborn Jr in Little Rock, Arkansas. I live in Little Rock and he has many successful patients and a GREAT staff. My lapband was an easy experience for me. I was not sick during the 2-3 week post op. I got my first fill after 6 weeks. It was good. I still craved food and felt like I was eating way too much. However, I lost 25lbs. fast. And I miss some foods that I used to be able to eat, but I am ok with it because I have lost 65 lbs since surgery. I am looking forward to my new life, without looking for food all of the time, and enjoying my life with ease.
