hi. omg thats exciting!! It's goin to come up sooo fast..u must be on the edge of ur seat lol i can still remember how excited i was leading up to it..i couldnt wait.. my surgeon was Dr. Daniel Davis. i got the procedure done at Lawrence Hosptial in Bronxville. But i didnt like them too much. i had to work with the Nurse practioner the whole time..she was based out of that hospital but had a office she came to 1 day a week in Wantagh out by me, so thats how i found her. and then with them i go get the surgery done up in bronxville..i only met the surgeon a week before and that day..and wouldnt be meeting with him after that..just her..and i didnt like her at all. plus it was shady how she didnt accept insurance..i had to submit her receipts on my own. So right after the surgery i hunted for a new dr to do my future followups. and found Dr. Buchin in Lake Success..and he is AWESOME!....let me kno how it goes..i want to keep in touch k?

Hey Bermuda.. Thanks for the advise you left on my page. I will definately take note of all the suggestions. I found you on the thyroidism group members list. I had no one on my friend list prior to now. I have 3 months left on my 6 month supervised diet requirement and I thought " ya know, it's time to be more active on the forum". So I started sending some invites to people with similar siuations. Good luck to you and I hope to talk to you soon.

Hi today there was a request from you! My surgery date 3/15. insurance still has to approve it.I fit the criteria for insurance BMI of 35 with sleep apnea. I work for a cardiologist who has watched me try to diet for the last 8 years so he wrote up the "6 month diet and exercise" paper work that I would need for approval. When you get any other presurgical testing requirements make sure they send you a copy so you will always have it at home. Also get a copy of your presurgical clearance, the one you need right before surgery and bring that with you to the hospital. Just in case they dont have it. I am also bringing an ekg just in case. .I am getting one incision thru the belly button technique. I am so happy because everybody else does the 5 hole incision. Where did you see me to put in the friend request? My friend lives in Jks I went to Joes crab shack and had a nice time. hey look at that Im talking about food. What a surprise! JoAnn (Bermuda)

You know something, I havent been banded yet but I am telling every one! and almost EVERY single person had exactly the same reaction or they said "why would you risk dying during surgery for that". Everybody has the answer to everything. That is a teenagers mentality the "I know everything" attitude. No one knows anything about you, even your closest friend. You do exactly what you want because in reality you may have very good friends and a great family but you ultimately only have yourself. You know what it is like to struggle with your weight. If you want to struggle less than why shouldnt you. Thats why Im doing it. I just cant do one more diet program ever again and feel like Im starving. I dont know ONE person that wasnt happy with their choice to have it done. Dont worry about what people say. To tell you the truth no one is really that interested in you anyway, you are just part of the passing show. Think about how interested you are in other peoples problems, not much right? So dont let their opinion take over your thoughts. Do it and be proud of it. It takes a tough person to make a decision and go thru with it. Yippy for you!:smile2:

Hi! I was wondering if you might have some info Im looking for. Someone saw our conversation about our cats and read that my cat had died. Someone contacted me asking if I would like to adopt her brothers cat. She gave me her email but it was returned to me as undeliverable. I couldnt takr the cat since I am at my limit already but I wanted to get back to her. I think she lives in California. Thanks, JoAnn Bermuda

My husband is afraid of the surgery I am going to have but I felt great when he told me that I should do what I want to do. He also said he thinks I look great the way I am and physically he wouldn't care if I was heavy or thin. That went a long way with me. Dont worry and just be yourself and get her everything she asks for. Dont forget to clean the house and get your own meals and she will be thrilled! -
