    My band slams shut!!!!

OMG I'm so glad I read this thread as a mother of 4 boys - 22, 21, 18 & 14 and a husband who has a broken foot and off work for 8 weeks. Maybe the STRESS level in my house is causing the band issue. I've been I guess you would call it restricted or stuck. Seems like nothing is going down easy. I've been trying to baby it by yogurt, soups, hot drinks, cold drinks, nothing seem to be helping. One bite and there it goes burning in throat and feeling full. Maybe being back to work after a long frustrating weekend will release the feeling of being restricted. Thanks for posting. Try to have a stress free work week. I know I'm going to try.

    Gas issue

I was thinking about getting some of those Gas-X actually just this morning. Don't know guess I'll just wait it out. Thanks

    Gas issue

It's a touchy subject, but I was wondering if anyone else has suffered from bloating and gas issues. I'm 11 months out from surgery (8/26/09) and for the past week or so no matter what i eat i seem to have nasty smelly gas and am very bloated. Any ideas of what I can do? It is rather embarassing having this problem. Seems to come on more at night. Help!
  6. I'm glad to see your post too -- Ilovebeagles -- I was also banded Aug. 09. I lost pretty much weight in the beginning by November had had lost 47 to 50 pounds. I've been at a stand still all this time. Getting a little frustrated. The doctor seems to think I'm doing good. Not to worry everyone hits a plataeu -- This long though. Arrgh:cursing: I had another fill today and we'll see what happens now. I've been trying to walk ever night about 40 mins hoping this will kick things in gear. Wish me luck this fill will be it.

    After Fill Question...

Hi, I hicup, burp whatever you want to call it after I eat all the time. It let's me know I done eating.

    Still not feeling restricted

Dr. says samething not to get discouraged, which I'm not, trust me I'm happy with the 43lbs down. Just everyone talks about this "sweet spot" and how they feel, not that I want to get stuck, or throw up by all means, I just thought maybe I'm doing something wrong, but obviously not with the weight loss I've already had. I guess I was just feeling a little down and had to post my feelings. Thanks for helping.
  9. Hi, was banded on 8/26/09 -- 3 fills now @ 1.5 cc each time. I was just filled on 11/27/09. I'm still not feeling restriction. I get full but I still can eat everything just not hugh portions. I'm still losing weight down 43lbs. Feeling good just wondering when will I hit my "sweet spot?" Anyone else having this problem?
  10. I feel the same way I've lost 40 pounds and have dropped from size 22 to size 16. I also drift to the plus sizes and have to pull myself back to the smaller sizes. I'm more comfortable in my big baggy shirts and pants I want to hide behind my clothes. My sons, 21, 20, 17 & 14 keep telling me to buy new clothes, "it's time mom." Then when I did I said there is no way I can fit in a 16 I haven't seen that size in a long time and here I am wearing them. My shirts from 2xl to 3xl now a comfortable xl. It is very hard to get use to being smaller. I look in the mirror and still see this "fat mom" in there. That's one of those mental things I have to get over. I'm working on it. Everyone says, wow you look great, they call me skinny, but on the inside I still feel "fat." and from all the postings I guess that is a normal feeling. I just wish it would go away, so when I look into that mirror I see that "skinny mom." Wow it's so nice to know you're not crazy when you read these postings and everyone feels the same way you do. I love reading them and knowing I'm not a freak or going crazy. Others really do feel the way I do. Hang in there everyone we're doing this and it's great.
  11. LAP-BAND® 8-26-09 and 4Kiddosmom, I also was banded on 8-26-09 to date have had 2 fills 1.5 cc each. I have not experienced any restriction also. I have lost 40 pounds to date. But in the last couple weeks I've only lost 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I get very depressed over this and I know as my doctor puts it "you're in a marathon you will finish but there will be hurdles before you finish." I understand that but it still gets very frustrating. I am able to eat breads, rice and pasta nothing gets stuck (thankfully) I eat smaller portions but I sometimes feel like I stop even though I feel like I could eat more. Maybe the next fill will be my "sweet spot." (11/27/09) We've just got to hang in there and know the weight is going to start dropping again. And we will finish the race!:tt2:
  12. I don't know why it happens, but it does. I was a 7w and now 6m. I actually noticed the weight loss first in my shoes, go figure.

    Nexium

Been Nexium free since 8/26/09 (date of procedure). I was on Nexium for years. I was also afraid of not taking it after surgery, but haven't had anything no Gerd or reflux.

    Sneezes?

No sneezes either, my thing is like a hiccup/burping. Embarassing!

    Depressed?

I think you are inside my head. Every posting I read I've had the same thoughts. Scary. But as my dr. said "you're running a marathon, and there are going to be alot of hurdles, but 'you will finish." I'm assuming the depression, anxiety, being peeved off at everyone is a HUGH "HURDLE" this too we shall overcome. Hang in there fellow bandsters!! WE ARE NOT ALONE!!!
