I am looking for some Dr. Urbandt Patients or West Penn Bariatric Patients. I am looking for all insight, good or bad. I have a consult on 12-15-09. Chuck

My stomache is pretty hairy and they did not shave it at all.

Make sure that you take in earlier in the day and that you drink enough Water to get it past the band. It is probably sitting in your pouch. I am on Zoloft also and had this happen 2 times before I figured it out. Good Luck Chuck

Are you by chance taking any pills before bed?
-
Bend over in front of the toilet and burp and let what ever comes up come out. It seems to work for me. Good luck.

Please Can Someone Help me having Some serious Issues.
cbbrink replied to Jessicamr30's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Very Unlikely, but possible silicon poisoning. Your body might be absorbing the Band. Do a search on google. It would be the same from breast implants because I do believe they are made of the same material. Chuck -
Bile Reflux or Too tight of restriction???
cbbrink replied to outside*looking*in's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My Guess is that everything is irritated and a little swollen in your abdomen and caused you band to be a little tight for a while. Once the swelling went down it probably went away. Chuck -
This is essentially the realize band and it is filled with normal saline.

Are you on Blood Pressure meds or a water pill? -
I am over a month post op and still have not given in. I am not going to start again. If I where it would be atleast 4-6 weeks after everything is healed. Nicotine inhibits your healing ability.
-
Are you taking any meds or vitamins? right before bed?
-
I was banded on the 9th and am actually feeling pretty good. No gas pains, just alot of rumbling. I got the Realize Band. It is hard getting used to the liquid diet as I did not have a pre-op diet. Chuck

This can be a side effect of the anesthesia. Not sure how long it can last, but I would definitely say that is the cause. Good Luck. Chuck

Well something is going wrong with your ticker. I don't think that it would prevent you from getting the band. It may delay it until you get your heart taken care of, whatever that may be. Your heart could be skipping a beat, have an extra beat, not squeezing enough blood or many things. I wish you the best. Keep us updated. Chuck

Medicare does cover the surgery. Thats what I have. I think you have to have a bmi of 40 or 35 with co-morbidities. Good Luck. CHuck

He told me all fills are done under floro, Which I think is the best way to get them. Less worry about being too tight and poking the tubing. -

I had a cyst removed from the left side of my upper back. When the stitches where removed after a week, the incision opened up and I had a huge hole there. I went to my GP and he packed it with packing every 3 or 4 days and said it had to heal from the inside out. The packing is loaded with antibiotics so you don't get an infection. I would have your surgeon take a look at it. I would not want to be put under again and then even another time to have the port replaced. Good luck. Chuck -
Dr. Jorge Urbandt - Dr. Urbandt Patients
cbbrink replied to cbbrink's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I know all doctors make mistakes, but this is a little over the top. I dont see Dr. Urbandt ignoring test results and putting his reputation on the line. That facility is ranked #1 in the state for bariatric surgery. I am not calling you a liar, so please dont think that. I know there are risks associated with the band as with everything else. If the tests showed no pouch why did he not act? I know I would have seen another Dr. before 9 months of throwing up. I wish all of you the best and does anyone have any positive updates? -

cbbrink replied to HapiCat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wal Mart has big containers of Protein Powder, Not sure of the brand off hand. I use it when I work out. It's fairly cheap $12 or $13. It tastes pretty good too. It's whey Protein.
