Thank you for your replies. Emma knows I've been seeing a new doctor about ways to lose weight and be healthier, but I haven't mentioned the surgery bit. It's her first week of school, so maybe next week we'll sit down and talk about it. She made it through my heart cath a few years ago - I'm sure she'll deal with this as well. Thanks again.

The nutritionist wants me to start the high protein low cal thing now - almost a full month out. Yikes! I'm working on it, but have already given myself permission to eat anything I darn well please at the county fair next weekend. In the meantime - cottage cheese anyone?

They just discussed my current exercise habits and set up expectations for after and how long it should take me to get back to my current routine. I also get follow-up appointments to figure out what exercises will work for my problem areas (can you say "everywhere"?). Thanks for the welcome.

Just found all of you online. I am scheduled for September 28th. Just finished my nutrition, athletic trainer, psychologist stuff today.
