I have always struggled with weight issues. I played a lot of sports through high school but still had to fight to keep the weight off. Once I went into college, the weight piled on. I was no longer playing sports. I was working and going to school full time. I felt like if I looked at food I could feel my stomach grow bigger. I had to starve myself to lose 2 lbs. The next week I gained 5. This cycle went on for a couple of years. During the yo yo cycle I quit having a period. I went to my gyno who sent me to an endocrinologist. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 20. Finally, I knew what was wrong with me. At the age of 27 I joined weight watchers at work. I lost a lot of weight 70lbs to be exact. Worked out like a mad woman. One of my happiest days happened when I was watching a football game and realized I weighed less then most of the players. Most I say because at the time I believe I was still heavier then the kicker. We won't discuss the kicker. Never made it to my goal weight. Vowed I would never weigh more then a line backer. Well, the weight is back and around. Thank goodness not all of it but most of it. I decided I needed to do something but I needed help. I tried everything like everyone else: diets whether good or bad, pills - over the counter and prescription. I saw a Lap Band commercial and started my research. Jumped through all of the insurance company hoops and I am scheduled for surgery on 11/13. Yippeee!
