Welcome Cascadian...sounds like you're prepared for your lap band journey. Chripsy sounds like you had fun on your date! You are crazy busy with the men lately! Feast or famine right? I know what you mean about being picky vs. settling. It's a fine line...and where do we draw the line? We DO deserve the whole package! I can't wait to hear how date #2 went...

Welcome back Shirley! We missed you! I made it to 189.8 today!! Ha ha...I made it, barely. kilopitre I think we're not supposed to gulp because once we're filled to the right amount if we gulp it will just come right back up. It hasn't happened to me yet...and I do have a tendency to gulp my water. Just be careful.

Welcome Gret! Good luck with your surgery and keep us updated on your progress.

Good to hear from you again Turner! Your weight loss isn't slow, you're doing great. Like Sonia said, that's almost 10 pounds a month. I'm on the slower side too...but it's going down little by little. How many fills have you had? Are you drinking enough water? Eating enough protein? I find that tracking my food really helps keep me in line. I use www.sparkpeople.com it's free and really easy it use. Tell us a litle bit more and we can try to help. So this morning 189 flashed briefly on my scale and then ended on 190.0. A few more ounces and I'll be in the 180s finally!! I go in for a fill on Monday too...I'm getting close to my sweet spot! I don't think I'll make my V-Day challenge either, but I hope to get to 10 pounds. When should our next challenge be....Easter?

I know what your wife will be getting you for Valentine's Day...lots and lots of candy.
-
Jim you are too funny!!
-
Jules you're making me hungry!! I LOVE Sun Chips. I've been doing better than past few days, but I haven't been to the gym in about 2 weeks. Work has been crazy!!! Today I weighed in at 190...I really, really want to get to 180 something for my weigh in on Sunday even if it's only 189.8. Ha ha! Cross your fingers...

First, congrats on your recent surgery! You're on your way to better health. It took me 2 weeks to feel semi-normal again and a month before feeling back to my old self. I also had low energy for about 6 weeks. What you're feeling is totally normal! Give yourself some time to recover and you'll be feeling better soon.

You look awesome Puddin!! I love to see your before and after pics...keep posting!

Shirley is out having surgery on her knee...I think she will be back next week. I think I remember her saying that her weight loss started before she was banded. So she hasn't really lost 147 in 3 months. But she has done awesome!

Raynie your stories always crack me up. Keep sharing girl. I'm sorry to hear about your hard times threebeauties and jimboss. You both give so much to us here and we are here to listen to you vent! It can be difficult when people (especially our significant others) don't repsond the way we want them to. But that may not mean that they don't notice or don't care about you. I guess you just have to tell them how you feel and then not let it eat at you. Easier said than done right?

mypov how are you doing now that you can eat soldis? I don't have another fill until February 12. My weight has been ALL over the place the last week. I was up to 196 on Monday, down to 190 on Friday and today I was 192. Why can't I lose consistently?? It's frustrating. I did take my measurements tonight and I am losing inches, but I want to see a change on the scale too! Sandy are you going to the support group on Wednesday night?

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow Shirley!! We will miss your posts and encouragement. Let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.

Hi everyone. Well I finally lost some weight this week. I've been all over the place from 196 on Monday to 190.4 on Friday...this morning I weighed in at 192.2 and since Sunday is my official weigh in day I'll count it. It's so nice to get past 193!! I don't think I'll make it to 185 by Valentine's, but I'm hoping to at least get under 190. Good luck everyone!!
-
KStar...maybe you need another fill? I've heard it takes awhile to fill up the 10 cc bands. Will your doctor do one for you now? I have been the same weight for 3 weeks and it just started to move this week. On Monday I was 196 (kept losing the same 2-3 pounds) and this morning I was down to 191! The band is a weird thing...you just have to keep on keeping on.

I use sparkpeople and I love it! It's really easy to use and has lots of products already on there so you don't have to enter everything manually. You can keep track of your exercise too.

Welceom Dozr and congratulations on your recent surgery. Keep us updated on your progress!

Welcome Carrie and congrats on your upcoming surgery. Dr. Zapata wasn't my surgeon, but I know some of his patients are here and I've heard good things about. Good luck on your journey and keep us updated!

My first fill didn't really do much (I had 1.2 cc in a 4 cc band). I've had 3 fills since then in small increments, the most being .4 cc. I didn't start feeling good restriction until my last fill and I could still use some more fill to reach my sweet spot. It seems to be different for everyone. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Tonia I use sparkpeople.com and it's really easy to use. It has a lot of products/food already included on the website so you don't have to manually enter every single thing. You can also keep track of your exericse on there too. Good luck!

Jenn I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through! It sounds like you have a lot of stressors going on right now...it's always hard to realize that things have turned out differently than you though they would. Take some time to reflect on the good things in your life...your kids, youir job, you've lost 16 pounds. Think about going in to get another fill, even though you think you haven't lost a lot of weight (but you have!)...you shouldn't have to use so much willpower with the band, use it as your tool. If things don't get better, you might want to consider talking to a professional or anti-depressants. I started therapy in December and it has helped tremendously. We are always here to listen...let us know how you're doing.
-
Raynie I have 2.1 cc in my 4 cc band right now and I'm going in for another fill on Feb 12. I think you can go up to 4 cc.
-
Ha ha Raynie!! Nice visual... :rose: Well, I am finally feeling better and back on track after the unfortunate cookie dough incidence. As of this morning I am down to 191!! I can't wait to see the 180s!

Congratulations!! Keep us updated...
