-
That is great Angela! Keep up the good work.

Good tips Audree! And I'll definitely have to try out some of those recipes too.

Jim your posts always make me smile! I'm proud of you for resisting the bountiful temptations...way to go! Shelly congrats on meeting your Christmas goal! I'm not sure if I'll make mine or not, I still have 5 more pounds to go. I had my second fill today. Added .3 cc, so now I'm up to 1.5 cc total. I really hope it helps as I can eat anything! My doctor does fills every 2 weeks until you reach the optimal restriction. I'm feeling ok...just sipping on my protein drink. I have a big work breakfast tomorrow and I'll be on mushies. Guess I get to eat yogurt or oatmeal and drool over the bacon.

I had tuna, canned chicken and egg salad with mayo during the mushy phase with no problem. I've only had one fill (going in today for my second) and I can still eat anything....
-
I'm going in for my second fill on wed too! I have had the exact same feelings you have...why are we so hard on ourselves?? There is definitely a feeling like I'm grieving for the loss of food. I'm also able to eat A LOT! I can't wait until I reach the sweet spot. Good luck on your fill tomorrow!

Thanks Jim! I'm trying to do better this week...drink more water, go the gym, eat less candy. Hopefully it will pay off.

Hi! I ws banded on Oct, so just one day after you. I'm feeling really good so far...I've had one fill (1.2cc in a 4cc band). I've lost about 18 pounds, 4 pounds since the fill on Dec 4. I have an appt on Wednesday to get my second fill. There is a thread for October bandsters in the general lap band section. You should come join in!

Welcome Denise! This is a great site for information and support. Be sure to read everything and ask lots of questions. I look forward to getting to know you! -
Ugh! I gained 2 pounds this week!! I'm going in for my second fill on Wednesday so I hope it helps. I'm going to try my best to stay away from the holiday treats!

Mine have gotten a bit smaller in the cup size, but I notice more change in the band size. I started out as a 38D and now I'm wearing a 36D...the cup size is a bit snug, but I figure I might get a little smaller hopefully. :welldone2:

How long at the hospital everyone?
JDru replied to mypov's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi mypov...I can't believe your surgery is almost here! My surgery was scheduled for 6:30 and I was in recover for about an hour. I got home around 11-12. Good luck on Monday!! Let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it. Are you driving all the way back to Logan or are you staying in SL? -
Jacqui you look awesome!! Congrats on finishing a challenging race.

Congrats Julie!! That is such an aweseom NSV!

When does no drinking during/after meals start?
JDru replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I started with mushies. -
Sometimes I take my workout clothes with me to work so I can go to the gym right after work before I have a chance to settle in. I still need to go more often though...

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica, 28, single, live in Salt Lake City, I'm a social worker at a non-profit. I was banded on Oct 26 here in Salt Lake and I had a great experience with my surgeon and his office. I've been keeping track of my calories on sparkpeople.com and it really helps keep me in check. I don't do low-carb per se, but I don't eat a lot of bread either. I've only had one fill so I don't have too much restriction. I've been able to eat anything so far with no problem: sushi, bread, spaghetti, popcorn, thai nodles, beef, chicken. I'm going back to the doc on Wed and they might let me get another fill...

Wow!! That is an incredible stat...over 900 pounds! Keep up the good work everyone...I still visit here every once and awhile. :grouphug:

Two Days After Surgry & Hurting
JDru replied to Scorpio's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. The first 3 days were the toughest for me! I had a lot of pain and nausea as well. a cool washcloth on the back of my neck helped a little bit with the nausea. As everyone else has mentioned...please be careful with your post-op diet. If you decide to have the creamy soup, strain out the meat. No solid food!! I couldn't have creamy soups until 6-7 days after my surgery. Make sure to drink enough water too! Each day you will feel a little bit better. Good luck with your recovery. -
Wow...there are almost no words. I seriously can't believe that Erik lost over 200 pounds in 6 months!! It seems almost impossible and a little unhealthy. But he looked good. I'm going to miss this show...what will I do with my Tuesday nights now?

Kimberly...4cc at once in a 4cc band?! That seems pretty aggressive! I'll be curious to see how you feel being that full. I'm only at 1.2 cc right now. Some of my favorite meals are: 2 morningstar veggie sausages and slice of cheese egg salad tuna on wasa crackers chili cottage cheese and peaches Some of my favorite snacks: hummus and crackers/bell peppers sugar free/fat free pudding with protein powder added 100 calorie bag of popcorn string cheese balance bar (peanut butter and almond brownie are my favorite) soy nuts
