Dawnae 13 pounds is awesome!! Especially over the holidays. Do you know what size your band is...I have the one that holds 4 cc. There is also one that hold 10 cc. So if you have a 4 cc band, 2.2 cc is kind of a lot, but if you have the 10cc it's pretty normal from what I've read. It really just depends on your doctor... They put you on liquids after a fill because your stomach can get irritated by the fill and they don't want you to eat solid food, have it get stuck or have a PB. I kind of cheated after my last fill too...couldn't take the liquids anymore! Just be careful!

I agree with Wheetsin, you should think about finding a good therapist. I started therapy in December and it has helped me tremendously. I have been on anti-depressants before in the past and they did help, but therapy has helped me cope with life. I've been exploring my triggers for emotional eating and binging and why I want to eat until I feel nothing. It's very hard, but very worth it. Just something to think about...I hope you feel better!

That's great Mary! Congrats on being down 36 pounds, that is very significant. I hope your fill helps you out even more. I'm sorry it will be so long before your next fill Jimboss! I know you can do it...just keep checking in with us to get you through the hard times.

Dawnae I didn't start feeling really full until this last fill. Now I eat a few bites of something and I'm full for hours! Did you get a big fill or a small one? How was your weight loss once you finally got off the scale?

I'm sorry you're not feeling well Sandra...it can really affect your whole outlook. Rest your back!

I really like V-8, but I didn't drink it right away after surgery becasue it's very acidic. I try to have it everyday to help get my veggies in. It does have a lot of sodium though...

Mine was some relationship trouble...meaning I don't have a relationship anymore. :welldone: I had/have a lot of anger to work off and it felt good to crank up the music and sweat. The hardest part is getting started...good luck! -
I don't have a significant other...but I can still fantasize right? Daniel Craig Matt Damon Robert Redford (when he was young)

My surgeon didn't require me to stop and I haven't had any trouble swallowing my pills since they are so small.

I would wait until at least 2 weeks post-op to go to the ob/gyn. As Sweethot said, it's hard to move around and bend. Plus she/he will want to do a pevlic exam and you don't want anyone pushing down on your incisions before they are healed. I had my pap done about a month after my surgery and was fine.

Audree: I did lose weight during my 6 week recovery period. I lost 10 pounds in the first week or so, then 5 more over the next 5 weeks. If you don't like regular broth you could strain chicken noodle Soup and drink that broth...I think it's WAY better than boullion or canned broth. Homemade broth is very good too, if you're up for making it or have someone nice to make it for you. Welcome cherg! I really like South Beach and try to eat that way most of the time. It's not quite as restrictive or very low-carb as Atkins. It's very healthy and you get to eat carbs if you chose the good ones. Good luck!

I have Aetna and it was relatively easy to get approved. However, I have Aetna PPO not HMO so that may have made the difference. There were certain criteria I had to meet in order for the surgery to be deemed medically necessary. I had been working on my weight with 2 different doctors for over 2 years so I had the medically supervised diet taken care of. I had to have a BMI of at least 35 with co-morbidities (I have high blood pressure, insulin resistance, high triglycerides, BMI of 39.9) or a BMI of 40. They also required a psych eval and a nutrition eval. I also included a letter of support from my PCP and I think that helped. There are also blood tests that need to be submitted. First I would call customer service and make sure Lap Band is covered by your specific benefits and document who you talk to in case you run nto problems later. Start making appointments to get your blood drawn and evals done and request you records. Good luck on your journey!! Let us know how it goes...

I'm glad you're back Chrispy...I missed your posts! My fill went fine yesterday they added .2 cc so I'm up to 1.7 cc. I'm still on mushies today, but I am definitely feeling fuller longer. I'll let you know how it is with solids. I really hope I have more restiction this time. That sucks that you can't get a fill until March!! You have a lot of willpower!

Hi Trish...welcome to LBT! This site is a great resource for info and support. You've come to the right place! I was on clear liquids for 5 days after surgery and for the first 3 days I didn't notice my hunger, I had some pain and nausea though. Day 4 was tough as my stomach started rumbling. I had some creamy soup on day 5...I couldn't take it anymore!! But most people do great! My energy level was low for about 3-4 weeks after surgery. Good luck on your journey.
