Just one small thing my dear CONGRATS, brilliant to hear your going to be what I would class as a s "Yummy Mummy", well done to you both. Next stop Manchester for fill number 1, mind you I suppose it's a good thing it may last a short while, it will give me time to get a little more off, then I can go on my holiday looking better, and get my scars tanned too lol! Hi Kerry I am the same as you I feel an indigestion like pain if I eat maybe a little too fast or choose something that doesnt go down too well. Anyway I guess we will see the difference when we get our first fill, mines on 8 April. I now know that as my insides have repaired themselves and everything is "normal" that I can eat normally as such, but thankfully in smaller quantities, which sometime makes me feel hungry a few hours later as I only eat a small portion at one sitting. I took my poor starving (ha ha ) wife out to dinner this evening I only manage 3/4 of a portion of chcken breast and half a baked potatoe and a fork full of peas, some something seems to be working, mind you bless her she tucked into an Easter special full turkey roast and loved it, and finished before I did too. Seems I am doing the right thing and eating slowly or by heck I feel it! My weight seems to be on a plateau few ounces up n down each day, but we're past the first stone marker and I can't wait until it starts again, maybe after Thursday when I go back to liquids after my fill will give it a kick start... I hope so any way. Next stop my Sons wedding on 8th May then off for a well earned week "Self Catering" in the sun in Turkey on 10th May. Looking forward to both so much. My wounds are all nearly healed up now, but still feel the old port reminding me its there regularliy especially in bed ...ouch:ohmy: Would anyone please let me know what to expect to feel like after fill number one, so I know what to expect? Thanks and take care everyone. Paul Banded on 9th March 2010 -

Hello Kerry I am feeling 100% better now, most of the soreness has finally gone away. Eating is ok for me, I can say I have only felt a little indigestion from time to time, but on the whole it's been fine, I can only eat a limited amount before I feel full which is a good sign. Got my 1st fill on 08/04. But I can see the weight coming off slowly but surely as of this morning I have officially passed the one stone marker in 18 days! And I am impressed to say the least. Hi Susan, In the words of the prophet , go for it girl!! Chris and his team are highly recommended, and I personally can vouch for them, as I was banded on 9th March, and don't regret a single minute, even the pain bit seems so long ago now. My days are now filled with thoughts of a new me, and it excites me so much. Regards Paul Banded on 9th March 2010 -

, Hi everyone, Nice to see others embarking on this trip of a life time! Good luck to you all. Here I am now 2 weeks post op and finally doing ok, after a longer than expected recovery period, (it's a man thing apparently), however I am on the up and up again now, and doing well. I have just booked my first fill for 08/04/10 in Manchester, so another exciting episode is to begin. Just updated my ticker and all is going in the right direction finally! Has my first meal out today with my wife and grand daughter, tret myself to a whole baked potatoe, just managed the flesh but not any skin, went down ok though. Banded on 9th March 2010 -

Hi, man pain is still very acute, the mobility has got better but still tender and wonderful bruises to show for it. Getting up and sitting down is sore still. Had a real sharp pain around my port this morning like stitch. And still walking like a fella who has misplaced his zimmer frame!! But were on the up as I have lost 9lbs now inside a week. Paul -

Hi Jojo, Thanks for the help, I am relieved it's not only me who has this problem. Got some nice bruising now around my bullet wounds, and a mother of one in my arm from the blood samples, I am sure by the amount they needed they were vampires, I had to go into overtime to replace the amount they took! Hey, does my bum look big in this? LOL:lol: -

Bobobaldy, my man, my wife thought exactly the same thing as you suggested, so I will take it as red ...it's a man thing! Thanks for the encouragment, I certainly admire your details since your band was put in, impressive and I certainly hope I can do as good as you my friend. Thanks again Paul:thumbup: -

Hi guys, Just wanted to ask , and there is the possibility it is actually a man thing! I am now 6 days post Op and I still am struggling with bending etc it's still tender, is this normal? But on the good side I weighed in a half stone lighter this morning than I was last Tuesday, so good news there huh? Paul:wink2: -

Hi Jojo - puddlejumper to base ...come in base.... reporting in finally! Wow what a trip, enjoyable , painful, successfull. Don't quite know how I am still alive after no solid food since Monday(the last supper syndrom at the Campanile), and now its Friday afternoon. I would agree with you about staying over the extra night unless you fancy being caught by the police for looking like your drunk in charge of a backpack! Stay there and recover is my suggestion. It's bad enough coming out after this extra time, as the old team work between the two legs just didnt want to play together, had to coax them to work as a team again, and the traffic from the hotel to the train took an hour instead of 20 mins due to heavy traffic, I thought we were gonna miss the train at one point. but managed it with 10 mins to spare.... Well living on milk shakes and tea, coffee, juice for now, i have tried a yoghurt but only managed half the pot! Tummy is grumbling now but maybe it is realising is hungry after 4 days of one up from nothing! Bless it. Gotta get me a ticker now!! Good luck to the girls today , no doubt by now they are in the land of nod! apparently I looked great coming out of the op, according to one of the girls coming in after me, eyes rolling trying to focus, gave it up as a bad job for several hours, when I woke up shivering, so they gave me a space blanket to warm me up, don't remember much after then till later!:blushing: -

Truthfully, i think the most painful part which made me yelp was when I had the drain tube removed , I was a little shocked to see how much was in there. Mind you one steady pull and it was out all 15" of it!! The needles were fine honestly hardly felt them. The barium mix for the final xray takes some getting used too, and the subsequent toilet visits after a novelty as I hadn't been for a while till that kicked in! Really that's all there was to it apart from being a lot more dopier than usual after the op! He'll of an experience too, am so pleased my son came with me to help me carry stuff for me.
