    Anyone from NY area??

OMG! Ithought it was just me I have not been able to sleep at a normal time since the night before my surgery over a week ago. I try, but an hour after I go to bed, I just give up and get up and do other things until 2-3am and then try again. Congrats on the food, I'm waiting patiently and can not wait to have real food that isn't mushy liquid. Oh yeah, I'm from NJ and was banded by Dr Nusbaum at St Barnabus in Livingston.

Is There A Miracle Drink Anyone????

I was banded on the 24th and I just started my second week, liquids/purreed foods yesterday after calling my docs office and telling them I was starving So last night I had egg beaters :drool and I've never tasted anything sooo good! I had Carnation Instant Breakfast today and that was really good. I can do that. I also have the Isopure fruit protien drinks but find them far to sweet with a bad aftertaste. I diluted some with water a little while ago and that wasn't to bad.

When did you tell your children?

I had decided a year ago to do the surgery, but life got in the way, so had to cancel. I told my 9 yo I was thinking about it and researching it a long time ago. She was worried, so came with me to meet the surgeon in July. He's a wonderful guy and took the time to talk to her, allay her fears, and totally explain in kid terms exactly what he was going to do. I think she likes him almost as much as I do When I got my date, I told her, we discussed it any time she wanted. She was a little nervous the night before, and the day I had surgery. I called her a soon as I got into a room and she was fine. My approach was to be upfront, let her talk it out and get her worries out.

    I Want Food!!

I had my surgery on the 24th and haven't had anything but fluids since the 22nd. I am sooo hungry. Well, not really, but I want taste :hungry: I want chew. I want something that is not broth or Water or sugar free popsicle. I hate, hate, hate Jello, so that's out and I couldn't gag down yogurt on a good day. What am I going to do, I feel like raiding my fridge just for something with a little taste to it! Any one else have this problem? What tips/tricks do you use to get through it?
  9. Mine is one week clear liquid, next week I get to ad mushies and pureed liquids:clap2: YAY, I never thought a scrambled egg would look so good! It's only been 4-5 days and I am dying, I am craving a hamburger patty with tons of ketchup and tomato and I don't even eat red meat!

How long did you wait to get out and about

So feeling like crap 4 days out is normal? :lol I feel bloated and pukey and have gas trapped in my back, but my stomach doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did the first day or so. How long before that gassy bloated feeling goes away?!
