    Hot dogs?

Hi, I had my surgery on 8/23/06. My follow up is scheduled for 9/26/06. My question is our family is going to a baseball game on 9/16/06 on a band trip. I know it is a few days shy of my solid foods phase but do you think that it would be ok to have at least half a hot dog if I chew really good when we go to the baseball game? Dieta

getting banded october 16 very nervous

Dear Tiredepot, I was banded on august 23rd. I am a big baby and do not tolerate pain very well. For three days after my surgery I was in big time pain. I felt bloated and had tons of gas, along with my body refusing to let any of it go. The one think that saved me and made me feel better was my walking my dog. He got walked more than ever. He was happy. Everyday the more I walked the better I felt. I would say 2 weeks after I started to feel normal again. The feeling of nervousness is normal. The other thing that kept me going was thinking about the future results of losing weight and my future new body that the lap band would help me achieve. Good luck on your banding and remember this board is a great source of help and information. You will also find a great source of support here. Belle

    AUGUST Bandits

I have lost 17 pounds so far. I would have liked to lose more. I was banded on August 23rd. I have my follow up and fill on Tueseday 26th. I also don't know how to change my ticker either. I am so hungry sometimes and am still getting used to the difference in hunger and pain sensations.

    Did you feel like this????

I felt the same way. I had my surgery on August 23rd. I hurt really bad for 2 weeks almost. Now my follow-up is September 23rd almost a month into it and I am so glad I did it. I am not sure how much weight I have lost but my clothes fit better and I am sleeping so much better. These feelings passed for me, I'm sure they will for you also. Just take it easy and one day at a time. Walk, walk walk!

    My BEAUTIFUL band baby!

Congratulation, enjoy that beautiful baby and good luck on losing the baby weight, I'm sure you can do it.
  7. I personally looked at each protein shake I had to drink as a brick in the road on my way to weight loss. I made sure my one meal of the day was worth the wait. I also found that I didn't focus on food all day long. I could actually concentrate on other things in my day. Anyway, good luck with your liquid diet and with your surgery also. Belle

    Just banded, feeling very bloated

I got banded on the 23rd myself. I still have my days when I am bloated and gassy. I have yet to burp. I haven't vomited and have had no nausea. My stomach is still tight and I called my doctor today and he said it was normal.

    August Band Crew!!!!!

I had my surgery on 8/23/06. I am doing ok. The hardest thing the first day or two was dealing with the pain and gas back-up in my tummy. I couldn't seem to or haven't yet burped and right now it would feel so good. I just have to wait until it passes and then I am cool. I also am struggling with telling the difference between hunger and pain sensations. I am having to relearn how to eat and to drink, amazingly enough. I can no longer gulp liquids. I guess I can now drink lady like. My grandmother would be so proud of me, lol. I can sleep on my side again, not sure if I will ever be able to sleep on my stomach again, it just irritates my port side too much. Oh well. I am a little hungry but yesterday I bought a can of tomato soup at the store combined with a cup of skim milk and it was pure heaven. The first taste of real food that I have had since the 22nd. So, overall, I am doing good. I am walking semi-normal, except when I don't eat when my stomach commands and then I go into stomach cramps. Before I had this done I could get away with putting off eating. But not now. Let me tell you, I feel hungry I drink my protein shake and eat my apple sauce. That's all for now. By the way, my name is Dieta. Nice to meet you all.
  10. Hello, My name is Dieta and I was just banded on 8/23/06. This is my first day back at work. Overall, I am still trying to tell the difference between pain and hunger. I am having to revamp my whole way of thinking regarding food and even how I drink water. Other than that, everthing is going ok.
