I never knew my body could hurt so much! I went and walked today and then came home and worked out to my recorded show. I figure the pain will go away some day, hopefully, lol.

Well, I finally started exercising. Where I work I can get sunshine and exercise at the same time. I can walk around the building twice and it is a mile. I am doing that everyday I am at work. On my days off I go to a park about a block from my house and walk around it, I figure it is about a mile also. I also am starting to record all star workouts on fit tv so I can start working out to those. I worked out when I got home today, on top of walking at work. I need to work on my abs and building my legs up. I am determined to work out more everyday and get this flab off for good! Dieta :scalesno::clap2:

I have seen several journal entries but can't seem to find where to make a journal entry. Can someone tell me where to go to do this? Thanks Dieta

would you or would you not do it again?
belle75067 replied to Band-aided's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is a good question. I get asked that all the time. The answer is yes. I really didn't know about the surgery or what was really going to happen before I had the surgery, not really until a day before the surgery. By then I figured I had gone through everything else I might as well go through the surgery and see if it could help me lose weight. I would however change my eating habits a few months before the surgery if I had known what a major difference I would have to adjust to after having the surgery. The pain I don't much remember but about 2 weeks after the surgery feeling so hungry and the protein shakes just barely satisfieng me. But overall yes, I would do it again, in a heartbeat. My alien baby has changed my life so dramatically. I am so grateful for it. -
Always feeling bloated, getting winded over just walking up a few stairs, feeling crappy about myself, and having to wear plus size clothes. These are just a few.

Is your band failing you or Are you failing your band...(LONG)
belle75067 replied to CoachCher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
To tell you the truth I'm not sure who is failing. Last time I weighed before my scale went dead on me I weighed in at 195. I started out at 252 at my consultation. So I was jazzed. I felt happy and excited I had made it under the 200 mark. So, I am confident I go and buy me a new scale. It is a digital one and I step on and it says I weight 221. I freak. Or should I say my mindset freaks and spins out on this negative trip that I can't seem to get off of. I cried myself to sleep last night in my husbands arms thinking I am a failure, that even the lap band can't help me. I am afraid to go to see my doctor or even to go get a fill. I am afraid they will announce, "oh look here, we have the failure, Dieta" and everyone will laugh at me. I am so upset I have been on the verge of tears all day long. I don't know how to face this set back. Right now all I can think of is getting this failure out of me, but then I will still have me and I can't lose that failure, which seems to be the biggest failure of them all. Coupled with my period I feel pretty lousy today. :cry:think -
Hello, Congratulations on your weight loss and all the wonderful things you have experienced with the lap band. I'm sure you will accomplish every goal you have set for yourself in the future. You are a great example to follow. My year is coming up in August, seems almost impossible that the time has flown by so fast. Hopefully I can be as successful as you have been. Sincerely, Dieta Craig

Hello, I was banded on august 23rd of 2006. I was worried about this also. I have an 11 year old son and have been married for 7 years. I was lucky that I have a husband that cooks. When I was on my liquid diet my husband still cooked for him and my son. I cook when I am off from work and I cook the normal stuff that I always cooked but I eat little portions and the rest of my family eats portions of what they normally eat. Maybe your husband can start to cook more or if he doesn't know how to cook then maybe you can show him the small little cooking tips to cooking the stuff you would normally cook for your family. Hopefully you have a supportive family, it makes it so much more better once you have the surgery. Good Luck, Dieta

I would have to say my item I can't live without is Bath and Body Works products, the peony line or moonlit path line of scents.

I am just like you. There are some weeks when I lose no weight, but my clothes seem to fit looser and then the next week I will get on the scale an lose my normal 2 to 3 lbs. I know your frustration. I never lose any weight when I'm on my period. My body has always been that. In fact I gain 1 to 2 lbs, but it drops right after my period. I also have sometimes eaten too much. But my handy band has let me know, fast. We all still have our foods we love, our band doesn't take away those cravings. I had my surgery in August, my beginning weight was 252 and my current weight is 198, I have lost 54 lbs. The weight loss will happen, some are slow losers, some are faster losers. I had a friend that lost so much more than I lost. I felt bad sometimes but my doctor told me to worry about my body, that everybody is different when it comes to weight loss. Keep your chin up and it will get better. Good luck in your weight loss. Dieta

Where do you shop for your clothes???
belle75067 replied to teacher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I recently bought some clothes at Cato. The pants were a size 16 and before my band surgery I was wearing size 20/22. I have bought clothes at wal-mart. I have also bought clothes at burlington clothes factory. -
I didn't know anything about the surgery or procedure itself before I met a friend in training for a new job and she said she was getting the surgery, I checked it out online and it sounds interesting. I really didn't think I would go through with it but it happened and I am glad I went through with it. There's not really much I wish I would have known about. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I know how you feel. I love to eat and I guess that explains why I needed the lap band in the first place. Most of the time I can control myself but I do have my moments when I just want to eat, not becuase I'm hungry, just because. One of the hardest things is that I still love to cook and I cook extravagent, rich, and creamy foods. I still deal with putting more food in my plate than I can eat but I stop when I get full. I think about my eating habits like the people in Europe, I have a little taste and I am grateful that I at least got to eat a little bite of such good food.

Vomiting After a Fill...Is This Common?
belle75067 replied to SeaBreeze's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was filled too tight on one my fills and I had the same symptons. I would call my doctor back. I was sick for 2 weeks and when I went back to my dr. he said I was dehydrated. Turned out if I would have waited a couple of more days I would have been in the hospital. My nutrition says that when this happens it never gets better. Hope you feel better soon. Dieta -
Congratulations! I bet you are super proud of yourself! I can't wait until I get to the 100 pound mark myself!
-
Congratulations! Whenever I try on clothes and they are loose on me I get happy also! I personally have had to buy 3 smaller sizes of panties since my surgery but it feels good to know it is working for ! Belle

I think I have hit my sweet spot personally. I have had 4 fills, my last one 2 months ago and am still losing 2 pounds a week and have pretty good restriction. There are days when I am not very hungry, like today and I have learned that if I'm not hungry, I just don't eat. I was wondering how the sweet spot felt before I hit and I am liking it very much! For informational purposes only, of course, my libido came back after about a week of sleeping my pain medication off. It was slow at first and we kind of had to position on the side kind of thing to avoid my port and even now I can't lay fully on my port for too long. But it didn't take long for it to come back as it was before. Belle

I felt the same way, I would have to remind myself I needed to eat. Then as alot of people have been saying there were days that I was so hungry that I thought I would die! Now I have had 4 fills, had my surgery in August, have lost 56 pounds and still have to remind myself to eat sometimes. Then I have my days when I am so hungry it surprises me.

What do you love most about your band?
belle75067 replied to lianna's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love the fact that I can control my hunger now and my day isn't centered on eating. I used to drive down the road looking for the next place to eat but now I just drive for the fun of it. -
I was home for a week and then went back to work. I arranged with my mgr to walk around every few hours because if I didn't my stomach got too tight and I had to walk the gas off.
-
How are you doing so far? I am looking into getting it done in the future?
-
I have always had body issues. My husband has always loved me for me, not what I look like even though he says I am beautiful and his attraction has never lessened. I still lay in bed feeling my hips to see if they feel feel fat to me even though I have lost weight and in my mind I know they aren't as big as they used to be. Also when I go shopping for clothes, I am drawn to the size I used to be and my husband has to remind me that I no longer fit into those sizes. So, I think with some "mind" work I will someday have less of a body image issue but for now it still plagues me. Dieta

I was about to give you the advice of when you feel the tightness in your stomach area walk around but most everyone beat me to it. I also agree with the others also with that being the toughest part of the surgery. I hope you start to feel better. Dieta
