hey sophie sorry that i did not respond sooner. How are u feeling now i hope you are doing good. Well a little about myself , i wa banded on jan 14,2010 by top surgeons in LA but I live here in the Valley I am about 30 min from Palm desert, i have been losing weight very slowly but i feel good so far i have lost 27 lbs since the surgery. i am having my 5th fill this saturday and hopefully that will help jump start my weight loss.keep in touch and take care Chachis

hey missy don't feel dissapointed I had also been feeling that way because I had surgery on Jan 14,2010 and I have only lost 27lbs since iam also at 6cc's but I am not feeling a lot of restriction the dr has told me that once I am at my sweet spot I will start loosing faster. So don't feel discouraged loosing 21 pounds since March is a great acomplishment , some people loose much faster than us but it may not be so healthy so stay focused and be patient. good luck Chachis

Wow,drowsydad you stoled the words out of my mouth, you are so right. I sometimes get discouraged because I have not had the results that i thought i would I have felt like a failure and i have felt ashamed of my slow progress. I was banded jan 14,2010 and i have only lost 27 lbs I feel good about it but then when i hear people loosing twice as much in half the time I think that somthing is really wrong with me. I guess that we are all different and just as long as we are trying our very best we should feel satisfied. I just wanted to thank you for your honest words and letting people know the truth about lapband. It is a great decision that we have made but we have to be patient. thanks Chachis

I can't break the bad habit. I can't stop drinkning while eating I think that is why I am not feeling full faster. I am losing very slow I have lost 27lbs since JAN 14,2010 I am at 6cc's and I still don't feel much restriction. Just wanted some advice. Is anyone else having this problem. Thanks Chachis:confused:

Hi sara i hope u start feeling better i am at 6cc's and i think i might nee a little more i dont feel full fast enough although it migh be my own fault i still cannot break the habit of eating and drinking at the same time. I hope that my next fill is the good one.i am also loosing very slow i have only lost 27 lbs since jan 14,2010 iam happy about it but i know its not very much, good luck and take care, Chachis keep in touch.

Hey,clittle of course it's worth it anything to be healthier and be a better mom is worth it, Iam kinda of new to this myself(-1-14-10)but trust me once you start with your fills you won't be hungry all the time and you will feel much better. Plus we enjoyed a long time now eating was fun but now we must eat to live and not live to eat.Good luck on your journey.Chachis

To Tell or Not to Tell?

At first it was hard to tell people I did not want anyone to know about the surgery because i was kind od embarrased so I only told my mom and sisters but my husband told some of his family i waS a liitle upset but i knew that they would eventually notice at family parties so it ended up being the best thing to do, they are supportive and they do not judje me. I don't blurt it out to all of my co-workers but the ones that I am closer to I have told. I do think it is important to tell others that might have weight problems so we can help them make a good decision,personally I am very happy with the lap band. Chachis :biggrin: -

Hi! there your off to a good start it's nice that you have your husbands support it. It took me a while to finally decide to have surgery i had been thinkng about it for years until i finally got surgery n Jan 14,2010. I feel so good about doing it, I am loosing slowly only 26lbs since surgery but i feel amzingly good. Don't get discouraged along the way. good luck Chachis -

hey wordy,I was also banded on jan14,2010 in southern ca, i am not doing so great i have only lost 24 lbs how about you. I know everyone is different but how much have you lost? I was feeling good restriction at 5cc's but now iam starting to feel hungry again/. maybe i need another fill how many cc's are you at? I would love to keep in touch it would be good to encourage each other not to compare each other but to give ourselves an idea of what we are going through. :smile:Chachis -
Hey I know what you mean anesthesia is scary I ha never had it until my lap band surgery Jan 14,2010 plus its really cold int there and it makes it worse everything will come out great. Don't worry about it you have made a great decision. Best wishes,Chachis

yeah! I guess i always judged people with drug addiction and thought to myself why cant they control themselves but I couldnt control my excessive eating. Now i understand that anything inexcess is an addiction and we must learn to be less judgmental. I had surgery on jan 14,2010 I am losing slow only 24lbs down but I am really excited and I cant wait to go clothes shopping. Keep up the good work you look great. bye!Chachis

hey,ex-gorda I know what you mean I have also not lost that much weight my self i am down to 224 from 246 and I really cant see a difference but others can anything past 20 pounds is noticable.Anyways what matters is that you instantly feel better about yourself when you see the scale go down.Keep up the good work and keep in touch. Hey Cowgirl, sorry for taking so long to respond,well i went for my third fill this mon. 4-12-09 and Iam feeling fuller faster I am at 5cc's now and i have another appt. in two weeks but i am ffeling better about it now i just have to really stick to eating the small amount of food and see how i feel after. Just talk to your doc. and tell him how you feel after this third fill. Well I hope we can keep in touch . Let me know how you feel after thursday.Later Chachis
