I have felt like you before. I had surgery Dec 30, 2009. I started out at 246, and I am teetering between 228 and 229. I just got my first fill. She put in 3 cc's and my band holds 10 cc's. 14-15 pounds in a month to me is great! I know that I would have never lost that weight before. But I don't have restriction, so I know I am eating more than half a cup. I'm trying very hard not to, but I end up not satisfied. I get my next fill Feb 24, so I hope they will give me another 3 cc's. I'm so ready for restriction! We will get there, and we will do this!!! And if it makes you feel any better about being a "self pay failure", I am a self pay also, but my mom paid for it. So if I fail, I wasted my mother's money and have to answer to her. lol But WE AREN'T GOING TO FAIL!!! I keep telling myself that. And I'm having a hard time finding time to exercise too from between being at school all day long on Tuesday and Thursday and running my own business on the days I'm not in school and being a wife. But I will figure it out. We can do this! We can do this! We will succeed!!!!! Just think....when you get restriction, and if you lose 2 lbs a week, that's 104 pounds in a year!!! That's great! I don't have quite 100 pounds to lose (96 to be exact), so I am hoping to be at my goal by Christmas! I may not be, but I'm going to try! Good luck!! You can do this!! You will get restriction. It may take 2 or 3 fills, but it will happen. Please be patient. I know it's hard to, but the time will come where you have restriction and the weight is coming off.

I had my first fill on Wednesday. The nurse put in 3 cc's. My band holds 10. It wasn't bad at all! I have to wait 4 weeks for my 2nd one too. I'm not really feeling any restriction, which I know is normal. I'm trying not to let it discourage me.

Mine started a couple of days after surgery. I had surgery December 30th. And mine just started AGAIN on Monday!! I'm on birth control and I'm not supposed to have my period until next week. And I have PCOS too.

Yes. A friend of mine has a Saddlebred that is just for pleasure. You need to make sure you find the right one though. I had a show horse before that would have been great for just pleasure riding. You can definitely find a great Saddlebred that is not high strung.

Lisa...Yes, I own Lamborghini. I LOVE him!! He's a handful, but such a sweet boy. I was so sad to retire him, but he's 19 years old, and he definitely deserves it!! I probably won't be going to many shows this year :thumbup: But I live in the town that Chattanooga-Cleveland Charity show is in, so I will definitely be there!! I'm hoping to maybe catch drive some of the ponies at the barn this year. I'm at the same barn as the pony Seamair's Simply Awesome, so there are some nice ponies at the barn, and I'm dying to show one! haha Racking is amazing! As soon as Janet had me ride a gaited horse years ago, I was hooked. lol Whenever I get to get another horse, I'm either going to get a gaited horse or I really really wanted a walk trot horse! I'm adjusting pretty well after the surgery. I haven't rode yet, but I'm so busy with school and work that I haven't had time. I still have some random pain and sensation around the port area. And I go for my first fill today..YAY!! I'm starving! haha I hope to actually meet you one day!! The first show for us is always Pro-Am in Perry, GA.

Lisa...I used to own and show WC Phi's Phortune Teller. I have a gaited show pleasure horse that I am trying to sell because I am starting my own business, Admiral Lee Memories. I will be back in the show ring sooner or later though!!!! And I just retired my beloved road pony, Lamborghini back at Chattanooga-Chairty. So he's living a happy life in the pasture. I do believe I have seen your horse, and I love him!!! Or her...lol Minxz...nothing in this world beats getting on a Saddlebred! They are amazing!!! I will never own another breed of a show horse (except my Hackney Ponies lol). Saddlebreds can be high strung. But to me..when my trainer has me ride a new horse that is maybe green or really high strung, I love it! It's such a rush! And Saddlebreds sure do look so pretty in the western and all the bling! lol

I love walking outdoors. I know it's because I am out of shape, but every time I do walk outdoors for exercise the cold air makes my chest hurt. I just can't bring myself to walk outside in cold air. I have been doing the Jillian Michaels workout for my Wii.

I am still at 228. Still have 3 more pounds to go!! I didn't make the best food choices last week. But this is a new week!!!!

Hey! I have horses too. I have not been told when I could start riding again. The only thing my doctor said is to wait 6 weeks, and that's when I can start lifting more and basically when I can resume anything. So I am waiting until I am 6 weeks post op until I pull my big butt onto my horse. lol But I don't ride just for pleasure, I ride with a trainer to show. I am constantly trotting,cantering or racking, unless I am giving my horse a breather for a minute or done with my ride. I know I dread when I ride again because I will be soooooo sore!! lol But it's so worth it.

I am in the same boat. I had surgery December 30th. I'm down 18 pounds, but now I am between 15-18 pounds lost. I am hungry about every 2 hours, and by that I mean my tummy growling. I try not to give into it every time, and head hunger is killing me. I will admit, I have not been making the best food choices, which I am regretting. But dinner tonight is a time to get back on the wagon. And thankfully I get a fill on Wednesday. Hang in there! We can do this!!!

Patty, please explain something to me. I am not understanding... God says in the Ten Commandments "Thou shall not kill". How in the world is the death penalty not against what God says? The death penalty is killing someone. Yes, I understand that the person murdered someone too, but it doesn't mean that person should be murdered as well. And yes, I think it's murder because the executioner is taking someone else's life.

Yes...if we only could give it all up!! I was banded not long after the original poster, and I have been cheating too much because I have zero restriction. I have to get back on track! A glass or two of wine every now and then is not going to hurt you. Just like a piece of pizza or a cookie every now and then will not hurt. My doctor is the one that told me that too. Go enjoy yourself! Cause trust me, I would love to have a glass of wine...just don't have any in the house and haven't been out to eat. lol

I have read the other verses, and I am still against the death penalty.

Patty: I know the death penalty is not for all orisoners. Here is a great example of how people interpret a Bible verse differently. You think it means one thing and I think it means something else. And don't tell me I'm wrong because your mind works differently than mine and I have the right to interpret that verse on what I believe it says. If you shouldn't interpret things differently than pastors would not preach them differently.

Hey guys!! I am 3 weeks post op today, and doing great!!! Although, I'm starving! lol I get my first fill next week. How long did you feel restriction with your first fill?

When I went for my 1 week post op visit (I am 3 weeks post op now), they told me that I could eat until "full" because I was/am starving. So based on what my doctor said, I don't think you will do any damage! I'm so looking forward to my fill next week! If you're like me, I do not have any fluid in my band at all, so my band isn't doing anything for me right now. Now, I'm not pigging out, I am stopping when I feel satisfied, but it's definitely more towards a cup or more of food. And I'm hungry every 2 hours. Hang in there! We can do this!!!!

When I started this challenge I was 240, and wanted to get down to 225 by Valentine's day. Well, this morning I am 228!!!! 3 pounds away! I may make my goal 220 if I can lose these 3 pounds.

I guess I am one of the few kids who had everything she ever wanted handed to her who didn't turn out like that. You know what growing up as "the rich, spoiled girl" did to me? It made me want to succeed. It made me want to prove everybody wrong. It made me want to show people that I can make it on my own without my trust fund and all of my parents' money. Now, don't get me wrong, I am so very grateful for everything my parents did/do for me. I will never ever be able to repay them for the great life they gave me. And, I know Conservatives are giving. At least where I am from, all of the wealthy republicans always give back where ever there is need. I know it's not like that everywhere. I think that no matter conservative, liberal, democrat or republican, you should give to the needy as much as you can.

I know Conservatives/Republicans aren't stingy. But people do think they are. And I come from a Republican family, and I am a Republican myself. And I disagree with the above statement. My parents bought me my first car, brand new. And I am succeeding. I am getting my Bachelors in Entrepreneurship, and I have already started my very own business.

You said "narrow-mindedly". That's my point! Almost everybody these days thinks like that! The woman I am speaking of is my mother. She is definitely not liberal, but she's really not conservative to the point that most conservatives take it. And Republicans have this reputation of being stingy, and I know that there's proof to show it, don't get me wrong. I just hate when people think because someone is a "conservative" or "Republican" they automatically think things. Just like when someone stereotypes "liberal" or "Democrat". I am not trying to start any debate here. I just don't understand why people judge other people based ONLY on their political standings. I may not be making any sense here, and I apologize if I'm not making sense.

I guess I'm considered a quitter. I love doing this for my husband, and I always let him finish in my mouth. But I hate the texture of it going down my throat. It's like I have a big glob of snot sliding down my throat. lol

Let me ask this question...if you had to decide if a person was conservative or liberal based on this..what would you say? A middle-aged, married woman with 3 children, always voted Republican, a Christian (denomination is Baptist), owns many businesses, very very wealthy, the #1 financial supporter at a major SEC school, and has donated tens of millions of dollars to education and the needy? And takes at least 1200 needy children shopping every Christmas. And yes, I do have a point to this. lol

Kat, your example is great! And you are right on point because there is more than one way to take that statement! And I, too, have talked to many people who agree that people do interpret the Bible differently. Even my grandfather (who is a Pastor!) says so. And here's a thought (if it's already been mentioned, I'm sorry!) the Bible has been translated sooo many times!!! Who is to say that the translator had to maybe change the wording because it could not be translated LITERALLY???

You know what I say????? I say let's get back to talking about Palin joining Fox! lol :w00t:
