What's for dinner tonight?
TN_girl21 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Grilled chicken marinated in lemon pepper. Probably green beans or peas and maybe some mashed potatoes (since I am feeding my husband and his cousin, and they both love potatoes). -
I had my surgery December 30, 2009! I've lost between 45-50 pounds. Yeah, I'm a slow loser. But I have so much going on in my life right now. Congrats on getting your surgery date!!!

I just got my blood work results back. My insulin levels are normal!!!! I have PCOS, which is why I am so excited. They haven't been normal in about 8 years. My testosterone was a little high, and my periods aren't normal yet. But I guess you can only fix one thing at a time. lol Just had to share!

I just had my blood work come back. My OBGYN says everything looks normal except for my testosterone level is a little high, but he said not extreme. And he said my insulin level is in the single digits (which is great)! So, my question......with my insulin levels normal, blood sugar normal, etc...do you think my chances of getting pregnant are better now? I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years ago, and my insulin has never been in the normal range until now.

How long after surgery did you start having sex again?
TN_girl21 replied to Moo's topic in The Gals' Room
Elcee, I think you are right!! Luckily, my husband was okay waiting until I was ready (which was only about a week or 2). And even then he was scared he was going to hurt me. Have sex when you feel like you and your body are ready. -
First of all congrats on the pregnancy!! My husband and I are trying for a baby. You will be in my prayers! And yes, God does have a plan, and He will take care of you and your unborn baby!

Getting pregnant with PCOS
TN_girl21 replied to TN_girl21's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Thanks yall! I have an appointment to talk with my OBGYN November 3rd. That was his first available appointment. I'm getting my blood work done Tuesday, so we will see what all that shows. Congrats on your pregnancy!!! You and your husband must be so excited! -
I think every woman likes riding on the back of a bike. lol I don't know if you have seen this, but it is a seat (for the women) that vibrates extremely well when using the throttle! We saw it this past April at Thunder On The Beach in Panama City, FL! My husband and I have a Harley. I would love to have your luck. It would definitely help having that extra motivation!

what city and state are you from and what occupation
TN_girl21 replied to lovemysgt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm from Cleveland, TN (still here). It's about 30 miles NE of Chattanooga. It's definitely growing!! I'm a student (even though I'm taking this semester off because I'm so burned out on school) and I own my own business, which is a ladies shoe boutique with handbags and jewelry too! I'm also a wife, and hopefully a mother one day! -
Recommitting to my band and exercise!!!
TN_girl21 replied to Froggie D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Froggie, I'm right there with you! I have fallen off the wagon as well. My life is finally somewhat back in order (except for a few family problems). I was so excited to get out and walk my neighborhood this evening. Well, it decided to rain today. So I'm excited for tomorrow morning! I was banded Dec 30, 2009. I've lost about 45-50 pounds. I'm dying to lose again. So I'm starting fresh and doing what I'm supposed to do: eating right and exercising! -

I think I waited a week or two. I'm like Humming Bird. I know it was no longer than two weeks. -
I can still eat popcorn! It actually fills me up quickly, and it seems to keep me full too.
-
I've had both just fine! But I take small bites of each and chew! And thin crust pizza is the way to go if you want pizza.

Carbonation!!!!!!!!!!!
TN_girl21 replied to kellyodoran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told no carbonation ever. I tried some of my husband's Dr. Pepper. Oh my gosh. It hurt so bad, and it was even partially flat! But...I've had a mimosa at a debutante luncheon, and I was fine. And I had 2 glasses of Cristal champagne at a celebration dinner, and it was fine too! But other than those times, I haven't had any carbonation. -
Favorite foods since being banded?
TN_girl21 replied to missgypsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat steak. I was told I may not be able to, but if I can then it's okay! I don't eat it often. Maybe once every couple of weeks. I eat it medium-well, with heinz 57 or a-1 sauce. And I chew, chew, chew the heck out of it and I eat it very slowly. -
Losing more than just my weight...
TN_girl21 replied to rcain03@hotmail.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rcain, I'm so sorry to hear of your problems! I can slightly relate to the husband problems. I will give you a slight background. We got married a year ago August 1. We did NOT have a good first year of marriage. We separated. I filed divorce papers. We did not even Celebrate our anniversary. I ended up telling him that if he wanted to work on things, we need counseling and he had some serious work to do on himself, and I need to work on me. Well, we've only been working at this for 2 weeks but so far so good. Yes, I have changed since I've lost 50 pounds. And I told him that, and I told him that I was not putting up with his BS anymore, and that if he wanted to fix it, he needs to act like a true husband. The best thing I did for my marriage is tell my husband everything I have been thinking and feeling. I've never felt like I did when my husband I were on the verge of divorce. I really do encourage you both to sit down and talk to each other. And if you do decide to work on you marriage, counseling will definitely help! If you need to talk, feel free to PM me! -
I am having terrible cramps. Is midol something that I can take? I can't seem to remember what my doctor said about midol.

Have any of you tried this? If so, did it work for you?

Thanks! Will you give me the website, please? I am interested in seeing what others have to say about it.

Feeling hopeless and don't know what to do...
TN_girl21 replied to TN_girl21's topic in The Gals' Room
Just an update: Jason moved out back in mid June. He moved back to his mom's. I filed for divorce papers 2 weeks ago today. He is begging to come home, and shoe me how he's a changed man. I am not letting him. But yes, part of me wants him to come home. I'm hoping and praying that I am doing the right thing. I feel that I am. I just wanted to thank all of yall for the advice given!!!
