Angela, I'm so glad that yall loved the chili pasta skillet! I'm cooking it tonight!!! Tomorrow night, I'm cooking seared filets in brandy. I had a horrible day yesterday. It started off good. But my computer got a virus (even though I renewed my anti-virus yesterday). I'm hoping it didn't strip my hard drive. One of my mom's employees is coming to hopefully fix it. I'm praying that he can fix it!!! I do not want to lose my accounting system and cash register!!!! :blushing: Then I come home to cook dinner, mess up the dishwasher rack, which DH easily fixed. I looked at him in tears over the day. Poor DH, he sometimes doesn't know how to handle my crazy emotions with this depression. Well, I knew I would need help eating dinner since I was so stressed. So I poured myself a glass of wine. I'm enjoying getting up and cooking for DH in the mornings. I told him "Now you can tell all the guys at work that you too have a wife that gets up and cooks for you!" lol Well, I have a list of things to do today. I guess I should go start getting ready. Thankfully, my Yorkie is getting groomed today...and I am hopeful and praying my computer gets fixed!!!

I used to be on Seasonique. I loved it. 4 periods a year. Then I switched to Nuvaring. It's nice too because you don't have to take a pill. I would put a reminder in my phone to tell me when to take it out. But the best advice is talk to your gyno to make sure you are on the right bc because there's so many out there! My hubby and I are now trying for a baby, so I'm not on a bc anymore. And my periods have finally come right on time by themselves!!!! whoo!!!!

Good morning!!! Tracy...I'm sorry to hear that you are sad! Things will get better. You're in my prayers! Nothing exciting happening with me. DH and I went and ate Japanese food last night. I'm cooking baked chicken with a honey bbq glaze tonight. And Friday night I'm cooking seared fliets! YUMM!!!! If anybody wants the recipe, let me know. It's fabulous! DH's snoring is still causing us to sleep in separate bedrooms most the time. UGH! I got up this morning and fixed him an egg sandwich before he went to work. I figured it would be easier for me to cook him breakfast, and save the money. My mom still hasn't heard from the doctor, so we are assuming that nothing is wrong. It would have been nice if they at least called and said "Nothing is wrong." My Christmas shopping is almost done! I'm going to buy DH's last present tomorrow. I'm getting him a garage door opener kit for his Harley. The garage door will open when you flash the headlight. We only have 4 presents left to buy for family. Whoo!! And I bought the cutest wrapping paper: red and white houndstooth! Okay..I'm rambling. Sorry!! haha Have a great day!!!!

Tight in the morning.
TN_girl21 replied to Linda Fehlen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always start out my day with coffee or hot tea. The warm liquid helps loosen things up for me. If I drink the warm liquid, I can usually eat in about 30 minutes if I'm hungry. -
Hey yall! Quick check in....I've been running errands all day, and had a nice lunch with my mom. Now, I'm home doing laundry and picking up the house. It's raining, but we need it! Open House was busy busy. We all had a steady flow of people. I had a lot of new customers, which is a good thing! Overall, it was a success! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Good morning!!! I ended up getting cranberry trail mix and red & green M&M's. The other shops are doing thumbprint cookies, cheese & crackers, chicken tortilla wraps, chicken & cheese ball, hot spice tea, cold cider, coffee and Christmas candy. DH and I went to O'Charley's last night with some of his family. The service is usually great because we get seated in a certain section, but last night we didn't. I'm the type I always tip even if the service is bad. The service was HORRIBLE. We had to ask at least 2 or 3 times for everything. She forgot DH's soup and his uncles salad. Everybody (except for me cause I barely drank anything) ran out of tea multiple times. I told DH that we weren't going to tip her. The table behind us had the same waitress. We and that table told the manager. I mean, it was ridiculous. DH looked at me and said "You always want me to tip." I'm sorry, but when service is that bad, you don't deserve a tip. I didn't sleep for anything last night. DH snored, tossed and turned, slept on top of me, and took up the whole bed. lol So now I'm having coffee so I can get awake enough to take a shower and get ready for work at 1:00. It's only 8:00 now. I hope this Christmas Open House pays off!! Have a great day!!!!!
-
Good morning!!! Jenn..prayers for you!!! My mom still hasn't heard back from the doctor. And I'm trying so hard not to be my usual emotional eater. The place where we board our dogs had their open house last night. They've become good friends of ours. We got the dogs 2 new toys. We got one that is a stuffed small basketball and when you squeeze it, it goes "booiiinnggg". Babe loves it. It's hilarious. I'm hoping my Christmas sale brings people in! I've got my fall/winter shoes and handbags 25% off. And what I have left over from summer is 55% off. People need to shop!!!! I've got spring coming starting in January. It needs to be gone!!!!! I wish I had the money and resources to be online. I would ship where ever if someone wanted to buy something! lol I'm trying to decide what kind of refreshment to serve on Sunday for my open house. If yall were going to an open house, what would you like to have?? DH's snoring has died down a bit. Enough to let us back into the same bedroom. I'm thinking about getting up with him in the mornings and getting on the elliptical. But man, that thing kicks my butt. lol I guess that's the point. Well, I guess I'm going to go hit all of my other websites before getting ready for work. I hope everybody has a great day! Prayers to all that need them!!

The decorating is done. And I must say the store looks great!!! I want to decorate my house, but it's 76 here today!!! It's supposed to cool off by Sunday. I feel kind of funny putting a wreath on the door when it's warm enough for sandals! Here's the recipes: Chili Pasta Skillet 1 medium onion 1 lb ground beef 1 can tomato sauce 1 can red kidney beans (drained and rinsed...the beans are optional) 1 can diced tomatoes & green chiles Elbow macaroni shredded cheese Garlic powder Chili powder Cut and peel onion. Brown meat and onion in skillet. Drain fat. Put onion, meat, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes & green chiles, kidney beans and macaroni (I don't measure. Just go by how much I think is enough) in. Sprinkle the garlic powder and chili powder (I don't measure it. Just sprinkle it all around). Stir it all together. Bring it to a boil. Then cover and simmer until the noodles are soft. Once the noodles are soft, melt the shredded cheese on top. And serve! Chicken Casserole 1 pound chicken breasts 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or 1 more can of cream of chicken if you don't like mushrooms) 1 pint sour cream 2 packs of Ritz crackers (you can use only 1 pack, but DH likes a lot of crackers so I use 2) 1 stick melted butter Boil chicken and pull it apart. Mix chicken, the 2 cans of soups, and sour cream together. Put it in your casserole dish. Put your crushed crackers on top. And pour the melted butter over the crackers. Bake on 350 for 45 - 60 minutes (or when there is some bubbles in the casserole). They are so simple to make!!

Good morning!!! Michelle...I will post the recipes when I get home from work. My husband loves the Chili Pasta Skillet so much, that he usually asks me every week to cook it. They are both so easy to make!! I'm actually going to tweak my chicken casserole recipe because I use cream of mushroom soup, but I don't like mushrooms. I will give both ways for the chicken casserole. I'm about to start decorating the store. I actually went to Lowe's this morning and bought 2 pre-lit 4 foot trees to sit on each side of my door at my house, and a new wreath for the door. And a new tree topper because I bought new Christmas tree decorations this year too. lol My mom still hasn't heard back from the doctor. :rolleyes2: We went through this with Jason's mom about 2 months ago. Everything was fine with her. So I'm hoping the same for my mom! I hope everybody has a great day!! I will check in later with those recipes!

Angela....I'm praying this is Zach's last surgery!! And for a quick recovery!!! Plain...he is wanting to do a sleep test. It's just a matter of him going to the doctor after work so he can get referred to the sleep center in Chattanooga. My mom has found some lumps in her breast. She went to her OBGYN and he sent her for a mammogram and an ultrasound. They are now waiting for the place in Knoxville to send her last mammogram, so they can compare. Thankfully breast cancer doesn't run in our family. So please pray that this is nothing serious!!!! I've got the casserole in the oven, just waiting for it be finished while DH is in the garage working on the buggy. I must say, I make a good chicken casserole, so I'm looking forward to dinner. I'm trying to talk DH into going to the murder mystery dinner that is in downtown Chattanooga. I think it would be so much fun!! I've got a long day tomorrow. I'm rearranging my store and decorating it for Christmas. I'm so ready to put my decorations at my house. lol I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but I love Christmas time!! How was everybody's day?
-
Good morning!!! I cooked one of mine and DH's favorite meals last night. Chili Pasta Skillet. Yes, I still eat pasta, just not as much. (I feel like pasta and rice is such a taboo topic here. lol) It's so good!! And it definitely hit the spot! I'm making chicken casserole and veggies tonight. I'm dying for some good lean protein! lol I think I may have DH grill some steaks this week to get my fix. Tracy...I hope this is the end of my Lee problem too! It's wearing me out! I hate petty drama. To me, there's not point in it! I wear a size 9 or 9.5. It depends on how the shoe is made, but I mostly wear a 9. I didn't get the shoe that I posted a picture of. I changed my mind. I went by the store yesterday to talk to Jacque about "holiday hours" during the week. A girl was trying on a shoe, and the zipper broke on her foot, and Jacque said they almost couldn't get the zipper off. I about died. They did get the shoe off, thankfully! Now I hope the company will replace the shoe. Well, I guess I should start getting ready for work soon! I'll check in later! Have a great day!!!

Kat..that's so exciting!!!! I'm so happy for you!!! I have an update on the Lee situation. I went by my mom's house to get my Christmas decorations for my store. Lee's mom, Annette, told me that when Lee went to my store the other morning (the whole Jason/Lee incident), he was "just doing his job because he has been told to spy on you and Jason". Well, I didn't believe that to be true. So I called my mom and she said "That is 100% not true. If I wanted to know, I would have came up there myself". Plus, Friday, Lee called my step-dad and said "I guess I f-ed up." and my step-dad told him that he had no business sticking his nose into anything. Well, Lee also told my mom and step-dad that the woman who lives above my store was complaining to him. That's untrue too!! So my step-dad is having a talk with him, and telling him that he just needs to stay away from Spring Creek (that's the shopping center that my mom has, and that my store is in). My mom keeps reassuring me that everything is going to be fine at Thanksgiving. I think she finally understands that I really am worried about it. Not too much going on here. The satellite box in our downstairs living room has went out. So we've been having to go upstairs to our upstairs living room to watch tv. I'm thinking about going to play our Kinect. I'll check in later!!
-
Thank you, Plain!! That really was some good advice. Lee and his family have already been invited for Thanksgiving. I feel so bad talking to my mom about possibly not having them over. They've celebrated Thanksgiving with us for a long time now. Well, DH's snoring has made us sleep in separate beds for the past 4 nights. I even got those Breathe Right strips. They didn't work. Any suggestions???? Have any of you bought the Kinect for Xbox360? DH and I bought one. Oh my gosh...that thing is a work out! He bought some fighting game called "Uncaged" or something like that. I thought what the heck, I'm going to play. Oh my gosh....My heart was racing!!!!! It was an insane work out!!! Well, off to eat lunch and do laundry!!
-
Good evening!!! DH and I have had a great relaxing day!! We stayed in our pj's until about 11:30. Then we went to downtown Chattanooga to see The Social Network. It was so good! And then he took me to this Mongolian restaurant. It's called Genghis's Grill. You go put your raw food, veggies and seasoning into a bowl, pick your sauce. Then they cook it for you with your choice of rice or noodles. Oh my gosh, it was amazing!!!!!!! Well, now we are home with our dogs. And waiting for Dexter to come on tonight. That's the one show we do not ever miss. I hope everybody set their clocks back, and had a great day!!! Grocery shopping tomorrow....oh what joy. haha
-
Good morning! Chili night with DH's family was great!! His step-dad's aunt made me feel so good. She was hugging me bye and said "We're so glad you're in the family." Everybody was happy, and had a great time!! DH is winterizing our camper today. I'll be glad when it sells! And then we are having pictures made, and having a double date night! DH was still mad about the Lee incident when we were both heading home from work. But thankfully he got over it and had a good time last night. He even said "I think having everybody over helped you too." Because with the Lee thing I was on the verge of having a break down. I think that's why DH calmed down so he could help me. Anybody got plans??
-
Kat...I told my mom that if she ever had to fire Lee, she was in a bad position because of his mom being my mom's cleaning woman. And my mom said "Oh, no. I almost fired him before and his mom and dad were in agreement with me." I honestly do not know what to do. I wish my mom would just un-invite Lee and his family. We always do Thanksgiving with DH's family for lunch on Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving night with my mom and step-dad and the Saturday following Thanksgiving with my dad and step-mom. Lee doesn't call me. My mom said that he probably took it upon himself to check it out since his wife works for me. But if she worked for someone else, he wouldn't do that. His parents watch my mom and step-dad's house like hawks. It used to be that even I couldn't go to my parents' house (when they weren't home) without getting 20 questions from Lee's mom and dad. They finally backed off. And I feel like Jacque (my employee) should have came to me if she thought someone was coming in (since I own the store), and not have gotten Lee involved. This situation sucks.

Just set up our Kinect! Time to get movin'!
TN_girl21 replied to RGVT78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will have to buy the Zumba game! And I love looking at the goofy pictures it takes! -
Angela...I wish I had the will to download all the coupons. The best I have is the Bi-Lo bonus card. lol I don't know how to cut all ties with Lee because it would break my mom's heart if we didn't come to Thanksgiving. My mom is really big on the family being together on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I guess we will see what happens. I do feel better knowing I have the support of my mom. Can you tell it's a slow day at the store? lol I feel like I'm constantly on this website today.

TN_girl21 replied to RGVT78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We got one too!! It's so so so much fun!!!!! I LOVE IT!!! We haven't bought any games for it yet. We've only played the game that came with it. -
Tracy...I got the story. The lady above me, Arlene, came down (innocently) asking if anybody had been in here. Jacque (my employee) said no. Arlene said that it was a white truck. Jacque said "Jason drives a white truck." Well, Jacque goes and tells Lee. So Lee decides to be a big boy and come by here. I did call my mom because my mom is his boss. And she agrees with Jason and I that it is no business of Lee's. But that is how Lee and his parents are. And my mom says "Don't be surprised if Lee makes Jacque quit. Because you know how he pops off and then regrets it 3 hours later." Jacque loves working here, so I hope she stands up for herself. And then I brought up Thanksgiving and she says "He won't start anything because he knows I will put his a** out". And then I told her how we skipped the Halloween party because of Lee. She said "Lee told me how yall were invited to the same party. And I told him if he started the littlest thing with Jason, he would be in deep trouble with me and his job." So I feel better knowing that my mom has our backs. Jason wants to unleash on him, but I know he's trying to get in the good graces of my mom so I keep trying to stop him from it. I want him to unleash on him, but I don't know how good of an idea that is. Jason has tried to call Lee this morning, and Lee won't answer. I am just so relieved that my mom has our backs. This will sum up Lee and his family: My step-dad says "They just allow us to live in their world." My step-dad has said stuff to Lee and his family before about over stepping their boundaries, but it hasn't done any good. Thankfully I'm going to have a relaxing night with Jason and his family.

Good morning!!! I already need to vent...UGH! Remember the guy Lee I told yall about? It's because of him. DH always stops by my store on his way to work to use the bathroom (sorry for the TMI). There is someone who lives in the condo above my store but she is a dear friend, and all DH does is go in, do his stuff, and leave. Well, he's at the store usually around 6:30 am. Lee calls him this morning and says "What in the **** are you doing at the store??" "You shouldn't be here. People are complaining. They call me instead of calling the cops." Well....1. There's only 2 condos owned (one of them he doesn't live there full time and it's on the other end of the building). 2. If the woman above me wanted to complain, she would complain to me because I get her mail for her and she is my mom's best friend so she would complain to her and my mom would tell me. 3. They wouldn't call you instead of calling the cops. You don't work at the shopping center. DH said he kept his cool. Now...I don't think Lee had any right to ask DH what he was doing at my store. We're married! HELLO!!!! He's allowed there. Lee and his family come to our Thanksgiving. I was feeling pretty good about going, but now not so much. I honestly want to skip Thanksgiving now all thanks to Lee. I am going to ask the woman above me if she did say anything to Lee's wife or anything. I don't think she did, but I want to make sure before I talk to my mom about it. On a good note, the girl who does my hair talked me into getting the keratin treatment. I can't wait for December 2nd to get here!! Whoo!!!! There are 10 members of Jason's family coming over tonight for chili. DH and the men in his family love wild game. So I cooked 1 pound of ground deer meat and 1 pound of ground buffalo meat and made chili. Thankfully DH's mom is making regular chili. Sorry the vent. It's just a sucky way to start a Friday morning. I hope it gets better, and I hope all of you have a great day!!
-
Good morning!!!! DH and I have planned a date night with friend of his and his wife for Saturday...Red Lobster! I'm loving these date nights! And Saturday, we are having pictures made. He used to refuse to do this, but since he has made his changes it was his idea. I was so excited!! I have my annual eye exam today. Joy.. But I am getting my hair done today. My roots are horrible. Tomorrow night we are having DH's family over for our annual chili dinner. DH is making some deer chili, but we are also making regular chili because my mother-in-law and I don't like the deer chili. So DH and I are cleaning house tonight. Too bad yall don't live close enough to come to my shoe store's Holiday Open House!! All of the retail shops that are in the little shopping center with me are doing it too. I love love love Christmas time!!!! Kat..that story is amazing. Its crazy to think she can remember someone from 20 years ago! It's so funny how our brain works, even when a person has Alzheimers. Have a great day!!!

I want to get the keratin treatment. But I don't know if I can go 3 days without washing my hair. And you have to use their shampoo and conditioner, and before you get into a pool, you have to spray your hair with another one of their products. I don't mind all that, it's the not washing my hair for 3 days. lol And you can't tuck it behind your ear, pull it up, get it wet or nothing. lol I think I would feel so so dirty. Back in July, DH and I moved into a new house. When we did, the former owner did not address the propane tank being full with us. She bought the propane back in April, and was making payments on it. Well, she stopped paying the bill when we moved in, without telling us. So the propane company calls me and says "I don't know who needs to pay this." So I called my real estate agent (who has known my family since before I was born). She goes back to the contract, and takes it to 2 brokers in her company. They all say that it is the former owner's responsibility because she did not have the propane pro-rated. Well, now the former owner is saying that she was witnesses that we talked about it. And if there's one thing that gets me mad, it's when people make me out to be a liar. Well, we didn't talk about it. The balance on her account is $591.00. I called my trustee (who is an attorney too), and he says I'm not responsible. Even the propane company says I'm not responsible. So I'm just waiting to get a letter from an attorney. But for what it's going to cost her to get an attorney, she could pay the bill that everyone is saying she's responsible for. Ughhhh....this woman is killing me. Sorry just had to vent. I found out that my brother and his wife are pregnant. I'm very excited for them, even though his wife and I do not get along at all. Well, this morning that keratin treatment would be great. I still need to go flat iron my hair before work. DH and I are cooking steaks tonight (still need to go put them in the Dale's sauce..can't forget!!). Have a great day yall!!!
-
We had one trick or treater, and I didn't have any candy. I told them to come back in about 10 minutes and I would have some. Well, the variety bags were gone. I spent $20 on Milky Ways and Snickers. Guess what? They didn't come back, and we didn't have anymore! I have this whole big bowl of candy. Ugh! Maybe I will take them to the store, or have DH take them to work. I do not need them in this house. lol I got some news about my dad that I'm very shocked by. All I can say is that my psychologist is in for a load when I see him again. Bad part is, everybody in my town knows who my family is. Thankfully he's not allowed to say anything! I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another. I found a new favorite meal. There's a place about 5 minutes from our house called Beef O'Brady's. It's a grilled chicken wrap. It was to die for, and DH loved his wings, so we will be going back!! Whoo!! We've already planned another date night to Kanpai! Yess!!! Have a great day!!!
-
Happy Halloween!!! DH and I got up this morning, and he said "I think I should check and make sure Dollywood is open." It's closed today! lol So we went and had breakfast with his parents, and then we went up to the flea market just to get out of the house. We don't have any plans tonight. Just to cook dinner. Date night was so much fun! We ended up going to Kanpai (the Japanese place). And he saw a "Dinner for 2". It was $47.00 and it came with one order of sirloin, 1 order of another steak, 1 order of shrimp, 1 order of scallops and 1 order of chicken. We also got the veggies. But they split the 1 order of everything between you. I gave DH the shrimp. Of course I couldn't eat it all, but it was such a good price for all that food! Even though it ended up being $75 because I had some wine and DH had some beer. But date night was definitely needed! We laughed at ourselves on the way home because it was 9:00 and what little we had to drink, it just relaxed us and we were ready to go to sleep. lol Jason even thanked me for going on a date with him! It was too cute! Tracy...I hope your time at the in-laws goes well!!! I hope everyone has a great and safe Halloween!
