I have the typical "been heavy most of my life" story. Several years ago I was very successful on Nutri-System, but ended up gaining half the weight back. It was then that I decided that I needed to do something that would be a lil more drastic, and permanent. I knew that gastric bypass was not an option for me because of the complications that can be associated with it. I did my homework and decided the band was a great option for me. I went to one seminar, Dr. Krahn's. I was sold on him that day. I made an appointment with him and felt so comfortable with him and I knew he was who I wanted to do my surgery. My insurance would not cover this surgery, so I decided to pay cash. It is a bummer that my insurance wouldn't cover it, but it has been worth every dime! I am 9 months post op, and I have lost over 80 pounds. I started my journey wearing a size 26/28, and now I am in a 18 bottom, and 14/16 top. I am almost out of Lane Bryant's clothes, and that is exciting! My next goal is to be under 200 pounds. I find it best to make small goals that are in sight because in the beginning the thought of losing 100 pounds seemed so far, but now, it seems so easily attainable. I have met so many incredible people on this journey, and it has become my goal to "pay it forward" and help anyone that I can. If you have any questions, feel free to email me, and I will do my best to encourage you and help ease your mind and concerns. Good Luck to you all!
