Bill, that's a great story! It must have felt like Christmas to you. :clap2: What a great incentive also to get into those "nearly free" smaller sizes as well. You should be proud! Jo Ann Sugar Land

Hi Houston! Sugar Land here. First, a big welcome :welcome: to you and congratulations on your surgery. :clap2: :clap2: I'm curious about who your doctor was. About your note -- you are filled with air -- they put CO2 or some other form of gas in the abdomen to make it easier to see what they are doing . Then your job post-surgery is to walk as often as possible and get the gas out. Gas X worked for me, but doesn't always for everyone. Expect and be grateful for however the gas chooses to leave your body. I was told to let the little coverings over the incisions fall off by themselves. It won't take too long, but they won't look that great by the end. Let us know how you are doing. If you want to find out how to get the cool ticker that many have on their signatures, go the forum on FAQ's and references and there's a post there that will talk you through the process. Just remember to follow the same steps each time you want to update your numbers. Jo Ann

Hi Randi, Just for kicks, I went looking around the Internet and found a few mentions of the low profile port, but no information to explain or describe it. Curious, huh? Jo Ann

Hi Nana and :welcome: to the LBT. Congratulations on getting banded. About eating and do's and don'ts, here's a couple of things to consider: What instructions did the surgeon give you about the eating plan you should be following? Were there any written instructions with do's and dont's? Your surgeon's recommendations "trump" any advice we can give you. For general information about eating after the band, here's a link to a really informative pamphlet I found that talks about the band and what to expect. Starting about page 25, there is a section on eating post surgery. Click here: http://www.lapbandsolutions.com/94829E_LB_Patient_Book.pdf There is a separate forum called "food" that you can look at as well that has recipes and suggestions. Good luck to you on this new path your life is taking! :clap2: Jo Ann

Kutia, I feel ya girl! This was my first week of all solid food and in no time at all, 4 lbs came right back. I'm telling myself this is not surprising, but I also feel almost no restriction and the portion sizes are creeping up. I've scheduled my first fill for Oct. 19. Water aerobics class -- here I come! That is definitely an NSV! Woo Hooo! :clap2: And what are your plans for the "now too big" clothes? I hope you are not planning to hang on to them. I've started a box in my closet where all but one pair of the biggest pants are going to go, and when there's enough, I will donate them or have a garage sale. Good job!! Jo Ann

AMEN!!! I couldn't have said it better :clap2: :clap2: Jo Ann

Kellie, Thanks for that information about anemia. I'm sure it will make a difference in some other bandster's well-being. Good luck! Jo Ann

Hi Kutia, I haven't bought a bike in years, but I found a couple of sites that might help you... Click here: How To Buy a Bike Click here: National Bicycle Dealers Association - Shopping for a Bicycle? These will at least let you ask the right questions. Good luck! Jo Ann

Hi Jenean, Don't know what to say about the nausea and gas, but when I saw you stopped the Klonipin "cold turkey" I got concerned. Most of the medicines for anxiety and depression are not meant to be stopped completely all at once; it leads to all kinds of body stuff hapening and sometimes serious consequences. Take a look at this site and give some serious thought to contacting your prescribing doctor to discuss your best options. This could be serious.... Click here: Klonopin Let us know how you are doing, please. Jo Ann

Awww Pebbles, Here are three quick hugs :girl_hug: I'm so sorry to hear of your latest difficulty. It must have been freaky to look down and see and feel that you are leaking! There is an old saying that "breakdowns" come before "breakthroughs." Then you must be heading for a humdinger of a breakthrough! :sick We need to hold you in the light and in our prayers. I believe you will come through OK, and it will take some close monitoring for this part of it. Don't give into despair...stay focused on your goal. Jo Ann

Hi Sheri, I wonder if what you have been reading are posts by folk who may be overfilled and cannot tolerate any solid foods at present. Everyone has food they can no longer tolerate, bread and rice seem to be a biggies; in fact there is a thread somewhere about that. But many other problems with the solid Proteins seem to be related to trying to eat food that is too dry or eating too big a bite. You'll have a good while after banding before solids are back in your diet. Take it slow and follow the doc's advice. Good luck, Jo Ann

Sheri. Thanks for the laugh as I have my morning coffee. Good luck on your upcoming banding. Then you can join--get ready -- the band! Jo Ann

The light of comprehension dawns.... I had forgotten how efficient Shredded Wheat was for the many ways that you (nearly) described in favor of my years long attraction for old fashioned, sloooow cook oatmeal. I shall become a new devotee! Thanks, Jo Ann

Jack, please say some more about the "Holy Shredded Wheat." Thanks, Jo Ann

When you do WW do you find support from the group meetings or mainly because it makes you keep track of food eaten, water drunk and amount of exercise. If it is the latter, then why not WW on-line? No self-righteous people and some pretty good tools to manage yourself. They have a free trial right now for the on-line program, Click here: WeightWatchers.com: Start Losing Weight Today! No evil possible when it's only you and your computer :biggrin1: Keep smiling and remember -- looking good is the best revenge! Jo Ann

You bet! I actually enjoyed the pureed stage once I figured out I could put my entire dinner in the blender! My family was given instructions to make NO comments on what my food looked like or its color. Put the dinner in a container you can't see through and spoon away! Also, I was getting these lumps of food stuck when I first started chewing soft foods like eggs. Read somewhere on here that a baby sized spoon/fork would give you the right sized bite of food and help you remember what to do. I 've been using it faithfully and there has been no more stuck morsels ! Best wishes and good luck, Jo Ann
