I had my surgery 2 days before you and my first fill 3 weeks later. I was also filled to 3cc's, and I also don't feel much restriction. I was told that this is normal and most don't feel restriction until the 2nd fill. I don't eat as much as I used too but I can eat anything I want.... big problem. I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any either. I plan on waiting until after the holidays for my second fill. I am trying to behave, but it's not easy. I did so well prior to surgery and after, but have not done so well since my 1st fill. I wish you luck.

Thanks for the feedback, it really helps!!

I had my first fill this past Saturday. I don't seem to feel restriction like I thought i would. I have an appetite, and I eat anything I want...not what I expected. Is this normal? I am also feeling the port when I bend over, again is this normal? I am back at the gym and feel good, but when I try yoga, I think I feel the port. Can someone please tell me how they felt after the first fill? I was filled to 3cc. I really don't want to go in for a second fill already. Happy Thanksgiving!!

On Saturday Nov. 15th, I had my first fill. I must admit I was hoping he (Doctor) wouldn't give me an adjustment because I have been losing at least a pound a week, since surgery Oct 13th I have lost 10 pounds. I did get an adjustment and I have to say it didn't hurt at all, but it was a little uncomfortable because he had the needle in (again it didn't hurt at all) and was trying to locate the area for the fill. The entire appointment was about 15 minutes. I had 2 days of liquid and 1 day soft food and then back to solids. I am at 3cc filled, but I don't feel the resistance I thought I would. I will give it a month and as long as I am losing weight I will be ok, but if I start gaining I will go in for another adjustment. I was sore for a couple of days, but now I feel great. I wish all my band brothers and sisters good luck!

I too was told that it would be liquids the day of the fill and then back to solids the next day. I have noticed that depending on where you live the Lap Band procedure is very very different. Starting with the pre surgery diet, surgery ( I didn't have a stay in the hospital, all done on a out patient basis), the liquid phase and mushie phase... everyone is told something different. I spoke to two surgeons at the same facility and they didn't have the same diets.... go figure.

I understand being nervous. I had lost 12 pounds before my surgery and thought, I can do this by myself. I only have 60 pounds to lose and thought what am I doing having surgery, I can do this! But i know my track record and I lose, gain, lose and gain again. I haven't had my first fill, but I am so very happy I did this. Good luck on your decision.

I just heard from my sister yesterday that one of her patients went to Mexico to have his lap band procedure but can not find a doctor in the states who will fill his band! He hasn't lost any weight and thinks he will have to go back to Mexico to get his band filled. Be careful and do your research. Good Luck.

I am so glad that you asked this question, I asked the same question but I didn't get a response. I feel my port also, I hold my side all the time. I think or hope that this is normal. When I call to ask the nurse they keep telling me that I need to give it more time, and that I am still recovering. I will keep posting to my blog on how I am feeling. Good Luck

Hi, I am 3 weeks post surgery and I am happy to have had the surgery, but a little unsure of what the future holds, so many different challenges. I am writing to you because your post about your brother grabbed my attention. We lost our son last year in a motorcycle accident. We owned a motorcycle shop and he was our chief mechanic and 1 of the loves of our lives. Michael is our middle child, sweet, kind and he had a wonderful gift of making people happy. Sorry I could go on and on. I am very sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is and I think your brother would be very proud of you! I wish you a future of happiness.

Where do you live? I have 5 incisions and my surgery was 3 weeks ago and I am still sore! You are lucky, I wish I would have done more research. I wish you the best of luck!!

I did so good preparing for surgery, and after I did great on the liquid diet, but now that i am on soft foods i am more hungry and more daring about eating foods I should not eat!!! I need my husband to take the candy to work. I am having 2 pieces a day!! I don't want to get back to bad habits.

I am really confused. I feel like I was rushed into this process. I never even spoke to a nutritionist. I went to a consultation about the process I think that was about 15 minutes, then I was scheduled for surgery 3 weeks later! I have been frustrated because I never seen to find someone to answer my questions, but I am glad I went through the procedure.

Today is week 3 post op and I am feeling much better. I am back at the gym but only on the treadmill and walking very slowly. I called and spoke to a nurse yesterday (impossible to get someone to talk to you or even return any of my calls!) I wanted to know if I should still be feeling uncomfortable. I still feel aching in my port area, not pain but ache feeling. I was told that I would have this feeling for another 2 weeks. Does anyone else still feel like they need to support their port area when walking or doing anything other than sitting. I do not work so I feel like I have taken it easy, and still I feel like I am not 100%. Any feedback would be appreciated

Hello new friends and supporters!! Thanks for the comments, I appreciate all the information I can get. I feel better today, my neck and back still hurt and my incision is sore, but not too bad. I had my first shower since surgery today, It felt great to wash my hair, though it was a quick shower because I started to feel a little light headed. I sleep on my belly and on my side, so sleeping on my back all night is not very comfy, but I am not complaining. I don't feel like I was very prepared for after surgery aches and pains, I put some much time preparing for an all liquid diet that I didn't think much of the recovering part, my mistake. I have a very supportive husband and he has made all the difference. I don't have small children to cook for and my husband is fixing his own meals so that is something I don't have to deal with. I am still not too hungry and am happy with the broth, jello and water... I will have to let you know if I feel the same way my second week into the liquid diet. Thanks again for the suggestions and comments, it makes it a much easier process when you have people who understand what I am going through. Thank you and good luck to all of you!!

I had my surgery on Oct. 13th. I went home tired, sore and I had a hard time breathing. I felt horrible yesterday with a low grade fever and my breathing was shallow. I feel much better today! I am breathing better and my incision is sore but not too bad. My neck and back are killing my, I think it is gas pain. I am walking a little but not too much, I don't want to push it. I haven't had any protein, didn't know I was suppose to. I have been drinking water and sugar free jello and chicken broth. I am not hungry but I am eating to keep my strength up. I wish everyone luck on this journey and I hope that we can help each other succeed!! Good Luck

Hi, I also had my surgery on the 13th. I felt horrible yesterday, I had a hard time breathing and I have not been able to sleep. I feel much better today, the breathing is better but my neck and back are killing me. I think it's all the gas. I didn't know I had to drink the protein drinks still..yuck. I am very excited and can't wait to see what the future holds.

I also had my surgery on Tuesday the 13th. I have pain in my neck and back... I assume it is the gas. I had trouble breathing for the first 2 days, but I seem to be doing better.
