I was banded on July 13, 2010 and I have lost 36 lbs, slowly but surely.

Thanks for the replies Juliansmom, you have given me some hope

No my surgeon has not done any of my fills under fluoro. Is that something you ask for them to do? Do you think it is better to get fills under fluoro?
-
To be honest I don't even know how many cc's I have, he never tells me and I haven't asked. At the next appointment I will make sure to ask him. I just get so discouraged, the scale goes up and down, but its between the same 3 pounds.

I had my 3rd fill on 12/6/2010 and I dont feel any different, I have not felt a difference with all 3 fills, is there something wrong?
-
Hi to be honest I have no restriction what so ever, I have read on here that it could take weeks to feel the restriction after a fill, but as of now I am so hungry and I still can eat the same amount if not more.

I did it without the numbing spray and I still found it easy and painless. Sagreenia my port site is still a little tender and I was fine, you will be fine too, there is nothing to worry about.

I just came back from getting my first fill and to be honest I was scared for nothing. It was painless. I just jumped up on the table and laid down, my doctor pushed down too see if he could find my port and he couldnt feel it so he made me do a crunch and then he put the needle in, I didnt even feel it. He put in 2 cc's. I drank some Water it went down fine and I was good to go. So for those of you that are worried don't be.

I did end up having my surgery with Dr. Randall on July 13th and I feel great. I havent had a fill yet because he is going on vacation and he doesn't want to give me my first fill before he leaves incase of any complications, so now I have to wait till September 15th.

Hi everyone I am from Somerville, Ma and I was just banded on July 13th by Dr. Randall @ Lawrence Memorial Hospital...I am doing pretty well, I have lost 24lbs so far.

I just had surgery on July 13th, it was my first surgery ever and I would say the pain was a 3. It wasnt as bad as I expected, trying to sleep was the worst. The only thing that really hurt was trying to get up or having to sit back down. After 2 days the pain went away and today I feel great, I dont even feel like I have been banded.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies. I had the surgery on July 13th and everything went well. The pain was not as bad as I thought it would be. The first 2 days I had the gas pains, but nothing the medication couldn't handle. I went back to work yesterday and I feel great. Started Mushies today and Oh do they taste so good.

I attended the seminar in October 2009, I didnt get to see the surgeon until Dec 9, 2009. After that I attended all the monthly meetings, saw the surgeon 4 times, saw the nutritionist 4 times, and had the mental health evaluation. I dont know what took so long because my insurance only required 3 months of supervised diet. As soon as they put in the paperwork to BCBS a week later I was approved...I was approved in June 2010 and that is when they called me to tell me my date was set for July 13.

and I am so excited, nervous and scared. I have been waiting so long for this day and it is finally here.

Hi Nancy!
I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I feel a little bit better about the surgery. I know what you mean about "reading everything you can get your paws on" that is how I am too. I have been researching the lapband for a long time. One of my co-workers has the lapband and she looks great, but we have never actually had a conversation so I would feel weird just going up to her and just asking her questions. I am so glad that I found this board, this is where I find most of my answers.

Thanks for your reply. I have never had surgery, so I can't help feeling this way. Your reply made me feel a little bit better, I mean I know in the end it will all be worth it. Congratulations on your weightloss, you seem to be doing great!

I started the process in October and now it is finally going to happen. The surgeons office called me last night and told me I was approved and my surgery date will be July 13th. I thought I would be happier about this, I am so sure this is what I want. I have done so much research and gone to so many support groups, but now I can't help feeling nervous and scared...is this normal???

Betsy that does make sense, thanks for making me feel a little bit better about this procedure.

I have lost a total of 39 pounds and I am happy. I was at a standstill for while, but with my last fill (3rd fill), things seem to be moving along.
