Dearest All Who's Reading, I hope you are all doing great with your weight losses and support!! I am still hitting the job trail, still with no luck, but I'm praying and hope you guys out there are praying for me too. This is a very small town that I live in and there aren't many options besides fast food, which I am trying to avoid at all costs, but if it's all there is I will work there. I just don't think I'm strong enough yet to withstand that temptation. Anyhoo, I'm getting sick :boink: , all the throat soreness, hoarse, coughing, stuffy nose at times thing. That's all it is luckily. I took my 2 year old to get his swine flu shot the other day. We had to wait in line for like 2 hours to get it, but he did. I haven't yet and still haven't decided if I want to. I'm in the age range to where I'm succeptable to contracting the virus, but it seems like everytime I get a flu shot I get the flu, and if I dont' get it, I dont' get the flu. But there's still time for me to get one if I change my mind and I am thinking about it guys, don't worry. I have a really awesome support buddy on here and I am so happy I met her. Her name is Sheila and we had the same surgeon, Dr. Swain of Murray, KY. We have been e-mailing each other almost every day or every other day seems like, and she is just the sweetest person. She supports me and answers alot of my questions and everything. I am very thankful for her online friendship, and soon to be in person friendship. We realized that our next appointment is scheduled for the exact same day, her's at one pm and mine at two fifteen. How cool is that? So she's gonna wait around a minute and I'm going to come early so we can meet each other. I'm completely psyched about it. Well, overall I'm doing good. The weight loss has slowed down a bit. Mostly I think because I've been drinking alot of orange juice lately. I can't get enough of the stuff for some reason!! But it's chock full of sugar and I need to stop I know. I am trying, I promise!! :smile2: I'm gonna go, gotta get up in the morning and go job hunting again, go figure. Hope everyone is well and I'm praying for you!! Sending Love.... Nicole Marie

Dearest All Who's Reading, This is my first blog entry, as you can see. I just wanted to post about my lapband experience so far and a little about myself for those of you are interested in knowing. I had my surgery on October 8th, 2009 and it was successful. Dr. Brian Swain, from Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY performed the placement of the band for me. He is wonderful and I highly recommend him. My starting weight was 232 pounds and my weight as of today, 10/19/09 is 215 pounds, with a grand total weight loss of 17 pounds. My goal weight for myself is 125-130 pounds. I think I would feel wonderful at that weight. The weight based on my height and age is supposed to be like 116 and I'm sorry but I think I would look anorexic at that weight HAHA...anybody agree? I'm 5'2 1/4" tall and 23 years old. Yeah, I'm a shorty lol.... Anyhoo...a little more about me, besides that I had lapband done. I am a single mother of one little beautiful boy named Kaiden Jace. He just turned 2 years old last month. His father lives in Ohio and doesn't have much to do with him, which is sad but ok really. He wouldn't be a good influence on him at all. I am a Christian, a proud Christian. I live in a little townhouse, 2 br, 1 1/2 bath...perfect size for me and my son. I am a college student and I will be working back for the college again soon, in January when the Spring semester starts. If you have any questions about me or my journey, feel free to ask. I love to make friends....and we all need support! Hope you have an amazing day and God Bless!! ~Nicole Marie~

    Somebody Help Me!!!!!

Thank you all so much for your support. I did drink some coffee and it went down, or atleast I think it was. I called my doctor and she said that it might not have been that it was stuck, but that I was experiencing the feeling of being too full for the first time since being banded. She said "you will know when it's stuck, it will feel like a burning in your chest". So, hoping I won't experience that and going to be wayyy more cautious to make sure it doesn't happen. I gave my mother a copy of the guidelines for her to have and I'm back home doing good now. I've lost 8 pounds in 5 days so I'm excited about that. Thank you everyone for your advice, I greatly appreciate it and the support. I am going to get some of these papaya enzymes everyone keeps talking about, just in case I do get in that situation. Also, about the coffee thing. My surgeon told me to ALWAYS start the day off with a hot liquid, it helps open the band. And they told me that coffee was totally fine, but it may be different with some surgeons, I don't know. No disrespect though..... ~Nicole

    Somebody Help Me!!!!!

Thanks you guys, I'm totally going to try them all, because the drinking hot coffee's not working at all. I really need to sleep I have a little one to get up with but it hurts too much and i can't.
  15. Dearest All Who's Reading, I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM. My mother, who is helping me post op, was excited about me starting the blended food diet today. I asked my doctor if I could have mashed potatoes and he said yes, so I was really excited because it is my favorite food. lol. Anyway, my mother blended my potatoes down, they were from KFC, and tored up a half a biscuit and mixed it in as well and didn't tell me. She thought it was okay, and as we all know bread is not a good thing. I thought it was just little bitty chunks of potatoe or something, i mean they were little. But now.....IT'S STUCK. It's stuck and it's so uncomfortable. I feel like I'm going to puke, like it's just right there. I can't get it to go down for anything. I called my local hospital and told them what was going on and they told me to drink something warm. So, here it is 2 in the morning, and I made a pot of coffee and I'm drinking away but it's not doing anything. Somebody PLEASE HELP ME~!!!!! This is horrible!!!!!!
