Hey, Congrats on being banded!! How is everything going for you? Things are going MUCH better this week than last week. I still have one more week until mushies, but I am actually enjoying the clear liquid stage. Great to hear from you!!

I guess being such a new bandster, I don't have too much advice for you. I know this is something you probably don't want to hear, but a friend of mine who just had the RNY done was told that "Everybody is different, and EVERY BODY is different". Good luck, hang in there, hopefully things will start to get better for you. -
Hey, glad to hear that you are out and about. I still haven't gone out, I'm kind of scared to put "real" pants on with my incisions because they will go right on them. I am still in a lot of pain, it didn't help that I got the flu while I was in the hospital either. Glad to hear that you are doing good!!

Problems with taking vitamins?

I know that there is a liquid multi-vitamin available, but I still have to take the Vitamin D, and the Calcuim Citrate. I think it just may take some time, as the swelling goes down, hopefully it will become easier. Thanks all!!! -

Hey, I am glad to hear that you are doing so well. Unfortunately I am not doing so well. I have developed the flu on top of all of the pain from the surgery. Coughing is the worst part. I ended up having to stay an extra day in the hospital because I was running such a high fever and my heart rate was almost doubled. It seems like every little move I make just hurts so bad. I think if i weren't for having the flu, I probably would be doing better. I did have 5 incisions, the one in my belly botton and the one where my port are hurt the worst. Is anyone else having a hard time getting a lot of fluids in? I am sipping away, but just not getting too much in.

:rolleyes2:WOW!! This forum is great!! I have been through 4 months of all pre-op requirements, and I have my endoscopy on 10/19, and pre-anesthesia on 10/21. I am scheduled for surgery on 10/26. I am getting nervous, excited, and scared. I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you.

I started my process in the end of June 09, found out my surgery date at the beginning of Sept, and was approved in 2 days, and surgery is tomorrow. CDPHP is my insurance, and they were really great!! -
GOOD LUCK!!! My surgery is tomorrow also, I have to be there at 6:00 am. I am feeling the same things as you right now. It has been months and months of research, and now it is finally here!!! I wish you all the best!!

I got home from my endoscopy not too long ago. I feel great, just really tired. I though my throat would hurt worse than it does. The cranberry juice they gave me afterwards was the BEST drink I have ever had!!! One week till surgery....I am getting very anxious!!!

Thanks, it is nice to know that there are people out there in similar situations as me. I have a friend that just had the bypass done, we are 19 days apart in the process, but I just feel that it is too much for my position and age right now. I wish all the luck in the world!!! Nice to hear from you!!

I know how you feel!! I think my problem is thinking that I will never be able to eat certain things again, so I feel like I have to have alot of it while I can. I am starting my 10 day pre-surgery liquid diet tomorrow, so I know that this IS it. Good luck though, we knew this would be hard right from the start, but we still chose it for a reason... Because we believe in ourselves!!! -
October 2009 Surgery Date?

Hi Everyone, I am new on here. I am thinking I should have signed up a long time ago. It is great to hear both good and bad stories from everyone. I am scheduled for surgery on October 26th. I can't wait after all of the pre-surgery "stuff" I had to go through, I am SO ready for this.
