I went for my post op this week and I am doing great! The shoulder pain finally stopped...thank GOD!! and I am down 18 pounds from my pre surgery weight which I think is really great. Now that I am eating pretty much what i want it is increasingly difficult to eat right, but I am doing fairly well. I have no restriction at all other than the band itself so eating is easy. Technically I am suppose to be on soft foods but the dr. said I coudl have soft meats and fish etc. I have been tolerating all that really well. The only issue I have had is that I meesed around and ate pizza one night. I did ok with the pizza part but like a dummy I ate the crust and man did it hurt....do not try that at home! I just had to wait it out there was nothign I could do and it wasn't ocming back up. Other than that I am doing well. I got for my first fill on the 19th and I am really excited. I can eat almost as much as I coudl before and I keep getting hungry. I know that will change once I get a fill so I am just loking forward to that. I really want to get to my Christmas goal and I need to lose 18 more pounds to do it!!

So here is am a few days after surgery. I had my surgery on the mroning of October 15th. Everything went well and as expected I suppose. There was a little bit more pain than I had expected...Iguess becasue everyone was always talking about what a simple procedure this is. And I guess it is compared to say a kidney repacement!! But they are still cutting into you! I have 5 teeny tiny little incisions none of which seem ot bother me in the slightest except the one where the port is located...that one is really, really uncomfortable and very sore. They tell me that is normal. The others I hardly even notice. I took it easy the first couple of days and really started moving around my third day home. Still pretty sore, but no pain medicine on the third day!! I am sticking as closely to the liquid diet as possible but the surgery did not take away my desire for other foods so I am still struggling with that. And what is the deal with this ungodly pain in my left shoulder?? Where in the world is that coming from???:wink2:

So I just one week and day out of surgery and things are getting better. I still have that darn shoulder pain and I swear it is 10 times worse than the pain from surgery! Nothing at all seems to help it and I have tried everything. No one told me anyhtign about this prior to surgery and they really need to advise people. I read about after and heard it is pretty common, but I know of some people who still have it 6 months after. It is very, very painful! So technically I am suppose to be on full liquids until the 29th but I have been pushing it just a little. Basically if I can chew into nothing I have been eating it...adding in slowly. My one guilty pleasure is cheeto puffs! I eat about three and that's it and man is it a treat! They melt in your mouth so when you swallow them, there is pretty much nothing yet. i still take really small bites. And creamy soups with some chunks in there are working ok. I am not even going to try meat or steamed veggies or bread...I am still scared of anyhting like that...too much digestion involved! *lol* Since my final weigh in before surgery on 10/6/09 I am down 14.6 lbs!!! I am really excited to see it coming off and I can feel it! Right now I am completely unrestricted and I get my first fill right before Thanksgiving...lucky me! SO my dilemma now is do I wait until fate Thanksgiving to get my fill so I can atleast have something or go on and get it??? I will be on complete liquids if I get it and that will be miserable!! We'll see what happens!:huh2:

My port incision hurts far worse today than it did yesterday...I can jst barely breathe without tears! Is this normal? The pain meds are not even working! :scared2:
