One more suggestion would be to turn off the TV turn off the computer do not read or talk or anything while you're eating just concentrate on eating and making sure that you chew Until you get use to your band. I still get stuck.... Like right now. I was very hungry and ate too fast. Hamburger helper stroganoff. Didn't chew good enough. My fault.

Looking For A Surgeon In Louisiana
BayougirlMrsS replied to bunkie68's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
don't know if you would want to come to Houma, but you can call Dr. Rau. or My Dr. in Thibodaux Dr. Perez. I know for a fact they see other dr. patients... and both are wonderful. http://www.surgicalweightmanagement.com/patientbeforeafter.html http://www.southernweightlossinstitute.com/index.php -

Enjoy your dinner... don't fear it... just stare at it and say ... turkey, you and i are going to have a come to Jesus. I'm going to eat you and your going to stay down....lol. I tend to stick to the ham, potato and peas... and pie... sweet potato pie.. got to have it... it takes me a while to eat, but i do enjoy what i do get to partake in You all are so sweet.... i really appreciate each and every one of you. I have learned so much over the years and have come to count on you all to be there when i need a boost. Plus you all are great for my ego....hehehehe :D -

you have been and still are one of my inspirations .. I have followed your story from the beginning and could not imagine going thru everything you have. You are one VERY STRONG WOMAN.....You can do it again and will do it again... you just haven't reached that place again yet..... Other than the weight gain... are you happy in life with your new baby and new husband? since my TT i can't seem to get motivated to get back to the gym....

I'm so happy for you. you have worked so hard and it will all be so worth it. My favorite things since my Tummy Tuck: 1) looking down and i can see my "stuff" and shave with out having to hold up the apron....lol 2) throwing out all the "granny panties" and buy new ones from VS..... Pretty ones that don't roll down. 3) wearing a bikini...and rocking it...!!! 4)....... feeling amazing that at 44 i look better than some girls 1/2 my age... all the best my friend.... can't wait to see your before and after.... Super excited for you...... :D -

C-girl.... thanks for the vote of confidence ... So may people have been an inspiration too me.... but two of my biggest... now thinnest...lol are Makulafamy.. she writes a fab. blog http://cheeseandsunk...gspot.com so funny. When she started her WL journey she was with a guy and then fell in love with her personal trainer.... a girl... Love her, so funny and smart and if you want real inspiration mumof2boys.... go into the rant part of the forums at the bottom and read Betrayal is a b***h... This woman has been thru a cheating husband, cancer, surgeries remarried and another baby late in life.. And lellow... Now that's i'm writing this... so many come to mind..... all the ones C-girl said and guymustang, budd, momomel, tcarroll, Ms. Jean of corse.... Dennis, fatboyslim, kim...... Oh hell i could go on and on, but just look at my friends list and i have tons of inspiration.... I can tell you i have seen way more success than not. Here and in person. I have had 5 friends have the Bypass and all but one has gained all the weight back, two had the sleeve and one has done great, but recently gained about 20 back.... the other not so good. The band... including me 6... i count my self as a sucess... lol.... 3 have done amazing... 1 (my sister in law) just had her band removed and had bypass... she was a terrible band member... and my cousin... another terrible, lazy band member... didn't count on it being "real work". Love you guys..... -

BayougirlMrsS replied to JhonnieB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cheryl is correct.... So did you feel the same when you thought you were getting the Sleeve? With every type of surgery there are Great out comes and .... lets just say ... not so great out comes. The LB is what you make of it. If you chose to listen to your Doctor... and only your doctor, do exactly what he/she tells you and you are committed to this 100%, you will succeed. You will NOT wake up skinny and you will have to work at it by Watching Everything you put in your mouth, the way you eat everything and how you drink.... but with the band you will have the time to adjust unlike with the sleeve and bypass, where you wake up and BAM... you are restricted on your eats.... which is why i chose the band. And... You will have to exercise.... the band will not do it all for you... I would suggest you join a LB support group NOW.... -
Famous.... Glad too hear that you are doing well. Floridays.... so tomorrow is your big day... Well congrats. My doctor didn't do drains either.... only inside stitches .. out side was glued. I wish i could remember how i posted pics on here.... Good luck tomorrow.... post some before and afters....

New Years Eve Surgery!!!
BayougirlMrsS replied to NewLifeRight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
first off.... congratulations. What a wonderful way to start a new year... with a new life. My advice to you is, take it slow and don't expect to wake up skinny. For me the first few month were not good only because i expected to wake up skinny. And when it didn't happen, i immediately thought i fail at yet another attempt at losing weight. But, i did learn to embrace every loss... no matter how small... it all adds up in the long run. Start an exercise plan as soon as your doctor permits Start with baby steps... i stated by signing up for a zumba class... then i did elliptical and then started weight training. Pay attention to what Your doctor tell you to do... Not anyone else. Every LB patient is different and every doctor tell his/her patients different things to do and don't do. Join a support group NOW... All the best..... -
