Just Starting Questions
BayougirlMrsS replied to sstemple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Few things... deff. call your insurance carrier. You don't want to waste your time if they don't cover your WLS (which ever you choose). If you do go to the seminar they should give you a packet. In the packet should be a question-air Parts of what you should as your insurance provider. I knew mine did because my friend and co-worker had it done the year before. I didn't have to finance my LB, but i did charge my Tummy tuck. The year before my husband had eye surgery and got a Care Credit card. It was only $1800 so it didn't take long to pay it off. When i looked into using it for my TT, i saw the interest rate....WOW it was high. So I went to my bank to get a personal loan. My friend (Paula now works there, she and i got laid off on the same day from our other job) said why do you want a personal loan... Chase is offering a Slate card at 0% int. for 15 months... So that's what i did... i put the $8800 on the card and i pay on it each month. Shop the options.... and good luck -

Houma, La. My doctor/nutritionist/RN gave me that information. I have kept it and have passed it along to banded and non banded friends. Full of great information and tips to succeed. -

Major complications.... Forceful vomiting the past few days....
BayougirlMrsS replied to raerae8513's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
amen... Elcee... too show you all how long a stick can last..... one night... not too long ago. I attempted to eat Popeyes chicken... dark meat... ate half a thigh... but didn't stop there... oh noooo i thought, one bite of red Beans with rice won't hurt... Right... Wrong... stayed stuck... would not come up no matter what i tried.... finally the next morning... yes 12 hours later... after the meat tenderizer... it came up. Looking like it did when it went down.... I know that was TMI... but goes to show you how long it could last. -

wonderful news. I also was going to suggest you call your dr. But everyone beat me too it... another thing to consider. the weather..sometimes when it gets cold out, my band gets tighter. Not saying that's what happen, but it has happened too me a few time when i realized that when it gets cold out, my band gets tighter. Also, do you think it's possible that in the days before when you felt like you had no restriction that you laxed a little on your rules and maybe ate too fast or attempted something that maybe you didn't chew just quite enough...? Reason i'm asking is not to skole you, but because i have done this very thing. I got too comfortable and attempted to ate steak... got the worst stick EVER... and sometimes when i eat and i don't pay attention, i will revert back to eating too fast and not chewing good.... and well we all know what happens. 3.5 years out, but it still happens....When it does i do a few things... i start with a heating pad on my stomach.... not hot... warm. this next line will make people mad, but.... If that does not help, i try to get it up with soda... the carbonation helps it come up... and if that still does not help... lemon juice, Water and meat tenderizer..in a shot glass.... drink and it will deff. come up. -

exactly what was your process when eating? Did you eat, wait 30 min. then drink your juice? Are did you eat and drink at the same time?

What to do for a sugar craving
BayougirlMrsS replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i eat sugar. i just don't eat a lot of it. And i make sure it's good quality. If i'm going to eat it, i'm going to make it worth it. Example: I buy these: http://www.ghirardelli.com/store/shop-products/collections/bars/gourmet-milk-coconut-rendezvous-bar.html or: Lindt White coconut I eat one square and one nip at a time... I don't deprive myself of things like this. After all i have given up, chocolate won't be one of them. I'm lucky, i can control it with one piece. -

Ok, so let me fill you guys in. So you all know me as a straight talking person. I say what i believe. I make no apologizes for the most part, but sometimes i do go to the extreme and when i do, i am quick to apologize. So this am i got to work at 7am and made two pots of coffee for the office. I do this because i'm first here and i LOVE coffee. Then i check emails, FB and LBT. Sometimes i check to see who is in Chat. This morning i check chat and a female was in there... so i said hello. went something like this. she posted that she had lost 130lbs and that she had to get her band removed because of a slip. She wanted to know if anyone would go back to band or get sleeve instead. so i said that i would go with the sleeve. she asked Why.... I said because i was at the weight i felt good at and would not want to risk slip again.. if it did happen. So i asked her how did her band slip... she said from losing weight too fast.... I said Really.. never heard of that. She said, well what did you hear that makes a band slip... I said what CG said... pretty much... Throwing up and sometimes hernia... etc..... She said, Well i have NEVER gotten sick and i don't have a hernia.... i said... well if that's what your doctor said... then ok...... She then freaked out on me and said that she was finished with this conversation and that jealousy was a sickness and i need to seek medical help.... and then she ran out like a dog with it's tail between her leg before i got to respond..... REALLY.....

but.... would losing weight too fast cause the band too slip? that is the real question. What do you think
