i got on a first name bases with the lady at the goodwill... when she would get in some real nice stuff, she would put them to the side for me.... i would buy them, wear them for a small amount of time and donate them back. And all the "old" stuff i donated too. PG is right... wear them, cus you won't be able too for long. If they are really nice suits i would donate them to a local group that helps men get job... not to a store to resale.

nothing taste as good as the feeling of putting on "those" clothes..... We all have them, the ones we hid way in the back of our closet. The ones you just can't seem to get rid of... Because one day i may fit into it again... Then one day you pull it out of it's hidden spot...try it on... OMG.. It fits... and the angles sing and the birds chirp.. and the rainbow appears.... OH Happy days... Congrats NJdad... keep up the good work...

Tummy Tuck Before & After Pics
BayougirlMrsS replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
i admire your courage of posting your before and after pics.... and i completely know where you are coming from. You look amazing.... Your doctor did a wonderful job. I had my TT feb 15, 2012.... and would do it again tomorrow. It took me a few weeks to be able to walk up right, but i did go back to work i think it was like 12 days later... can't remember. But i work at a desk. My total cost was $8800 this was the pre op, doctor, garment, hospital, Anastasia one night stay and a year of follow ups...Everything... it was not covered under my current insurance. I put it all on a 0% interest slate credit card and now i work cleaning buildings on the weekends to pay for it... Friends ask... why do you still have a second job cleaning.. i raise up my shirt and say... this is why... The TT has done so much for my self-confidence. I will be wearing a bikini this summer in public for the first time in over 20 years... (after i get my white self to the tanning bed) -
i am always supportive of others and there experiences Although i sympathize with what she went through, it still no reason to write incorrect information. We can "assume" the reason why he removed it... but to say that he removed it because it caused it... is miss-given information and for anyone to come and plant information that is not correct.. it has to be pulled like a bad weed. we come her to talk about our experiences and to learn from others. I have learned a lot here and have been corrected many times... i take that correction and use it to my advantage. I don't get defensive and i don't take it too heart... i learn from it... Just like today.. you learned that the LB does not cause gallbladder disease...

well then Tricia... you go ahead and take down the post and remove your account if you so choose... this is a free country and you have every right to do so. I for sure and i'm going to speak for Mis too.. (hope that's ok) didn't mean to insult you only to correct mis-given information. YOU wrote: Pancreatitis caused by gallstones, which were a result of my band. If someone else comes on here and sees what you wrote they are getting uneducated and misinformed information. Simply, the band does not cause gallbladder disease. Your weightloss was the cause... not the band. And unless there were OTHER things wrong with your band, there are no medically necessary reasons why a LB has to be removed to preform a gallbladder removal surgery. I wish you all the success in your future endeavors.. MsMaui are you saying that when someone comes on this forum and gives incorrect information, we should all sit silently as to not hurt or seem "unsupportive"? That just won't happen. I have been here for over three years and have been and still are very supportive to all, but i won't sit by and have people give out uneducated and miss-guided information. If the post would have read that she had gallbladder disease and "choose" to have her band out... that would be a different story. But to say that the Band cause it is just completely false.... I challenge you and any other to find any where proof that the LB causes Gallbladder disease ... If you can i will issues an apology..

No one is contradicting that Traci's story was/wasn't written eloquently... just that the two things have no connection. Meaning that if you get GB disease you will have to have your band removed... So balbuquerque... which are you... do you work for the band companies or or you just confused? Are or you insinuating that Mis is either of the two? Mis... you are correct... having the band does not cause gallbladder to go bad... gallbladder problems are "mostly" caused by rapid weightloss... Go look it up on line.. But just to be sure, i checked with my doctor and he confirmed that having the band has nothing to do with gallbladder problems. In fact, my first consult with him he asked if i still had mine... I said no... why, and he said that if i did he would remove it at the time of the LB because the rapid weighloss could cause gallbladder disease.. Sounds to me like the doctor had personal issues with the band and choose to remove it. sorry you had to go thru all that.

May be a dumb Question?
BayougirlMrsS replied to kng39212's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that depends on how you do as a patient.... do you handle pain well? Are you planing on going on all the "big" rides. I had my lb on a Tuesday and was back at work on the following Monday and Cleaning houses the next week. The eating is another concern... although you will have a band, most likely you won't have any restriction and may still be on mushy foods depending on your doctor. You will be starving.... and how well you be able to handle people eating hamburgers, hotdogs, and other junk around you? For me... i didn't want to wait a moment longer than i had too. I was on vacation doing my liq. diet and i have to say... it was hard. -
Need a fill refresher/re-education - just can't remember
BayougirlMrsS replied to NoMoBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Derb... sorry to tell you, but your doctor is wrong.... Braz is right. you either fill it or you don't... there is no two week delay. Now with that said, some day are tighter than others... for me the cold weather makes mine tighter... Jake.... my restriction has never been the same since my TT. I had it a year ago this past feb and have the exact amount i had in before the surgery and i get a full feeling, but it doesn't last as long as it use too. I had 10.5 before and have 10.5 now in my 14cc band. I'm Thinking about going another fill soon. -

each doctor has different rules... i know some don't even make you do a pre diet. Mine did and i was allow to have cream soups. Thank God... I ate the hell out of cream of broc soup from applebees. Like i said i was on vacation for part of my Preop diet. So every place i went i ordered the soup... Kind of became a joke... the waitress would come to the table and say... and what will you have and the crazy biker group i was with would all say..... She'll have the soup.... -
Just Starting Questions
BayougirlMrsS replied to sstemple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PPO = Preferred-provider Organization these are the doctors, hospital etc that your insurance had struck a deal with to give care and charge them a discounted rate. So your insurance will pay more of your bill if you use one of these people. But, just say you live in a rural area and you have no doctor that is on your plan.. And you have to be treated by an Out of Network doctor you still should be given the discounted rate. So you can't be forced to travel 100 miles just to be seen by and In-network doctor. -
My Dearest Band...
BayougirlMrsS replied to BayougirlMrsS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You have too keep on top of them. That to me is the most important appt -
i would never want to discourage you in anyway. but the things i say are some of the things i wish some one would have said to me. Too many people think that WLS is a quick fix... but you have to be ready for the life time change. I have had four friends that had GB and three has gained it all back. Two with the sleeve one didn't lose that much, one lost over 100, but recently started gaining it back. Many, but Five (very close friends) who have had the LB. Two have over excelled with weight loss and are smaller than me.. Ugh.. lol. One that has done so well that with in 4 months was off all diabetic meds that he had been on since a kid. One that looks just like she did the day she went in... one that weights more now then she did. These two don't follow the rules and never put forth the effort to exercise. And then there is My sister in law that completely failed at lb and had it removed three months ago and got GB. She is doing better with the GB. I'm proud of her. i just hope she keeps it up. All the best

My Dearest Band...
BayougirlMrsS replied to BayougirlMrsS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
you guys are so wonderful to me and always so uplifting.... Thanks thanks thanks -
most important thing to remember is... the band will not do it all for you. You have to have a complete life style change. Watching everything you eat and how you eat it. Exercising at least 4-5 day a week. And im not talking a stroll around the block... i mean going till you get your heart rate up. You will not go in, have the surgery and wake up skinny.... And i not trying to be discouraging or mean... but there are sooooo many people that think LB is a magic bullet. It's not... it's a tool to HELP you with your hunger and over eating issues. Remember some people lose slower than other. I was one of them. So many people come on here and say.... i got banded X weeks ago and i have only lost XX pounds. I say if you are one of the ones that wants to lose fast go have the Gastric bypass. But, if you want to lose and learn how to eat right and exercise.. than LB all the way... If your in a relationship, how is it going? WLS has a high rate of divorce. Some people come out of their shell and feel they deserve better.... Some partners can't handle the "new" confidence that weight-loss brings. Not saying that this will happen to you, but i just wanted to mention. If your relationship is not good now, losing weight may make it worse.. but in some cases it has made it better. I'm not trying to discourage you at all. LB surgery was the best thing i ever did for myself. I would do it again tomorrow if i had too. But, it has not come without struggles. Struggles with depression...over the loss of my best friend.. food. Struggles with getting off my ass and moving... My husband had and still has a hard time with the NEW me. Even though i was 100lbs when we met. He says my attitude has changed (and it has) and has even said to me that LB was the worse thing i ever did. But i didn't do it for him, i did it for me. And then to really piss him off i had a Tummy Tuck... lol. He got over it.... Dana... i wish you all the luck in the world and hope you find all the answers you are looking for. I'm here if you want a truthful straight forward answer.... and all the encouragement you need...
