Not to be a mean girl, cause I'm not, but didn't you expect a reaction when YOU brought up the past? I've posted several things on different posts and never been attacked or jumped on!! how did i bring up the past in my original post? they started in on me.... yet again.... Im glad that they haven't attacked or jumped on you. I hope no one ever does.

@ Trust in the fact that if your body needed to throw up .... you will. You are at the beginning with your band, trust in the fact that once the band starts to fill up... you won't have this problem. So lesson learned that.... you are now a cheep drunk..... take it easy....

@@Dusty_S Good thing in Dusty.... you know what your doing .... and it can be fixed. I gain 20 a couple years ago... and when i didn't fit into my favorite jeans... i looked with in and knew what i was doing and set my mind to change it. I said to myself... Self, you didn't do what you did, sacrifice what you sacrificed to go back.... so i lost that 20 and almost 20 more. That's whats good about the band... you are in control... but you have to be in CONTROL... Remember you can't eat what you don't buy.... when you go to buy the ice cream... don't... in fact don't even go down that isle at the supermarket. Start back at the basics.... go back to your small plate and have only what you know you should have. NO.. Seconds!!! No grazing.... Go back to the 10 commandments of the lapband. When i started here 7 years ago.... it was lapbandtalk (just lapband patients).... and it was wonderful... NOW did we all always get along.. NO..... But, it's wasn't as Catty as it gets now.. Lord forbid you have an opinion other than some.... The gang up on you like a pack of mean girls in a school yard...... None of the "my WLS is better than yours... nanna nanna booboo"... crap I was lucky that when i was new... i had great inspiration and advice given. So, i try and pay it forward when i can....

I read through ALOT of information and thought it was the best for me at that time. I guess I was too stupid for not thinking to find out how often it would need to be adjusted and how much it would cost each time. I trusted the doctor to be very upfront with me and tell me everything I needed to know. Plus, the cost is different depending on your insurance. So if you've switched jobs like I have over the years, the insurance coverage changes. THIS is the VERY REASON why I made the statement I did. So that OTHERS can think about it while making their choice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I completely understand..... I to have changed insurance 3 times since my LB surgery. I lost my insurance the day i went back to work from having LB surg. I got laid off from my job i had for 10 years. thank god my surg covered the first 7 fill or a year which ever came first. The fills came first i can tell you that. My next job that i had for 6 years didn't cover WLS ... so the office charge was 2??... i can't remember. but, me being the bi*chy person i am. Went to Him and argued my case about OOP fill charge and told him that i called around all the places that did them in Louisiana and said the the average cost was $125 i think.... he agreed and changed it. Victory...... No im at the job i have now and im just getting insurance and I'm not sure if they cover or not. But, im lucky in the fact that i have a close personal friend that is a surg and now does my fills for free.

@@Travelher i still stand by my User Error comment. But i do understand that there are problems that happen due to product .... but any surgery can have that. I hope to be one of the lucky ones that's still around in 10+ years saying.... I told you so.... fingers crossed. I may be wrong with my assumption.... but when you got Preg. did you get an unfill?

100% tue. BUT there must be some reason that more and more surgeons are dropping the band from their options. They can read about statistics all day long but their personal experiences ultimately determine their opinions. This is just my opinion.... and what opinions are like.... lol I think they don't want to be bothered with the maintenance of the band either.... I think they are all about the IN and OUT. like a herd of cattle.... The ones that still do them are the ones that stress compliance and want to make sure there patients are getting just the right care....

Good... cuz i would never what to do that.... Heck it sounds to me like you did every thing you can... Sometimes sh*t happens... and it looks to be your case. I certainly hope and pray for the very best outcome for you...

im a surgery pro... lol.... i always find the faster you get up and around the better. After my LB i was back at work in 6 days. Gallbladder 3 days and TT 12 days

User Error is the #1 reason.... in ALL WLS.....failures. that's not to say some problems aren't due to product and or doctor issues.... My friend had sleeve and ended up in the hospital for a month due to the doctor f*cking up.

for me a good rule of thumb is to get multiple consults. Why do you think the RNY didn't work for you? or did it work but you put back on the weight? Why another surgery? and what makes you think this time will be different? What are some of the things you know you did to contribute to the failure (i hate using that word)...? these are some of the question you should ask your self. I would also see about a trip to the Phy. Figure out the underlying issues. I went and read some of the stuff on the internet on both Looks like the DS has high complications and you may get better results from the one your dr suggested.... What's your BMI now?

Im curious as to why you waited 5 years to go back to the dr.? Did you not go back every year to get your band checked? And when you started vomiting and reflux... you didn't think... Hmmmm somethings not right here and go back then? Last month when i started with reflux and vomiting i carried myself to the dr. He removed all the Fluid. I have since gone back and got 2cc put back and was going last week but due to the holidays he was booked. Not that i really needed a fill.... but i want to get back to at least 6cc in my band. I feel great.... Im not trying to insult you in anyway... but this is exactly what we were talking about ..... Non compliance. Being compliant with the band means you go to the dr at least once a year for check ups. You listen to your body and take action when something goes wrong. When you don't... it leads to what's going on now.... and leads to people/doctors believing that the LB is horrible. Did he suggest you remove the fill and see if that helps? I do wish you all the luck in the world
