@@agirlhasnofluff what part of La? I always donate locally.... like a st Vincent's, or we have a local one that help mentally challenged people... Or, donate to a shelter. I stopped giving to salvation and goodwill after i found out how they handle things.... I rather give to places in my community.

@@Malin Thanks darling... I appreciate you sticking around. We've got some really great people here.... New and Vets. Not everyone will agree with what we say... and that's great, because what a boring world this would be..... But, there is such a thing a Couth... I know i have been guilty of falling down to levels of others and lashing out.... But the most important thing to remember is EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion , but no one is deserving of feeling bullied, belittled, or made to feel stupid. And that exactly what some were doing.... and yes i was one of the ones they targeted. And yes i lashed back called names.... but i also apologized and dropped it.... Not only because it was the right thing to do.... but Alex called me down on it and asked me to refrain from engaging. So I did. anyway.... Thanks

Sabotaging myself?
BayougirlMrsS replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Hoping052017 i would suggest you cook for yourself. This way YOU control what you eat. Another thing... Do you go to support meetings? If you do... Take her with you. This way she can see what your dealing with. If not, find one and go... You need to see in person the possibilities that are there for you. I would bet your mom and possibly dad and siblings are heavy as well. they may not want you to lose. They want you to stay fat... Just like them. Reason, because when they see your achievements, to them it a slap in the face to their failures. Does that make since? It's just like your fat friends, they don't wont you too lose, they want to keep you a member of the Herd. You losing weight makes them have to look at them selves and their failures. And your skinny friend, well they will fear you too.... once you start losing the weight, you will now become competition to them... they will no longer be the only "skinny" girl.. you will be too. You have to do this.... NO one else can but you.... -
@@crnpwallick the reason it's so hard now is because you are in a different mind frame.... Think about when you first started... How happy, positive and enthusiastic you were... this LB was going to change your life. And it did, and it still can. I wouldn't kick my self too hard just yet.... you are still in control you just have to set your mind to it..... I call it "want control".... not will power. Want control.... I want to control my eating again, i want to feel good about me again, i want to fit in all those clothes again... I want to be healthy again..... I want to feel proud of ME again.... Go by yourself some dry erase markers.... and put them in your bathroom... and every night or few nights write your self some encouraging words... even if it's just.... YOU CAN DO THIS... If you have a spouse or kids... have them write you words of encouragement... sometimes you can even write on the fridge (test first). Sit them all down and tell them what you are doing... Tell them how much their words mean to you and ask them to write you messages... This will put a smile on your face and happiness in your heart..... I promise. Chris

When i first started out WLS was a taboo thing. People looked at you like you were a Leper. They would say things like.... You have lost weight, how did you do it? People would say i had WLS, they would then look at you with judgmental eyes and say... Ohhhh... Now WLS doesn't carry as much stigma as it once did. I got my band in 2009 when it was still a "you took the easy way out" mind set. This is why i told no one except my friend and mentor Paula, Husband, son's and daughter in law. I didn't even tell my parents or siblings. But when the weight started coming off i had to tell my family. My mom thought i was sick... i had to reassure her i was not. On the day i went back from LB surgery (6 days later).... i was laid off from my job so i didn't see them for months. When i did, they were amazed and when asked i said..... I watch everything i eat, exercise 5 times a week and I'm cleaning houses which keeps me going. That satisfied them for a while. But when i saw them again.... I started getting the... wow, look at how much you have lost, you need to stop your getting too skinny. Your face is sunk in... My favorite ones was.... a couple new nick names i got..... Thin mint.. and Skinny Bi&ch. I would look at them with the biggest cheesiest smile and say..... Really, you think im skinny.... (clap hands) and say... Yeah ME. Or i would say.... I know right, i look fabulous don't i. Now that all the years have passed and the WLS is not a "bad word"... I say the same thing... I watch everything i eat, exercise and i had the LB surgery. So take what they say and turn it into a positive for you to grown on.... When they say, your too skinny, say..... My body will stop when it's ready. but thanks for your unsolicited comments. Chris
