    Which surgery??

i was so happy with my band... never a days trouble. Then after 8.5 years i got a stomach bug, threw up one too many times and it slipped. I've been around for quite a few years, have seen the pros and cons of most all of the WLS. For me, if i had to do it over again..... I would still do the Band. It (tina) taught me very valuable lessons on how and what to eat. Now i can still look at my plate and know exactly what and how much i can eat to stay where i am now. The MGB would be my second choice.... Then the GB, then the sleeve.
  3. i had the 14cc band and for me it was 10cc but then i had my TT and they took everything out and 10 was too much and 7.5 was a good place.... but i had to get my band removed a month ago due to a slip after 8.5 years. I got sick and threw up and bam... slip. So it's all up to me now. Best of luck to ya Chris

thanks Julie.... it's been almost 4 weeks and im still at the same weight. Knock wood
  5. As some of you know.... this weekend was a big one....  We (tim and i) flew to Ga for the Easter holiday.  I sent his mom some Easter flowers (which she loved) on Thursday.  Flight was great and no problems.  We landed and went to his parents (Joan & Benny) home.  Of course he was messing with me the whole time... hehe  So we pulled up and of course he introduced me and I'm a huger, and so are they.   We sat and talked for a bit then drove to eat a quick lunch.  We talked the whole time, the conversation was easy and flowed very well.  Back to their home where we set around and visited more.  Left to go check in to the hotel then back to J&B's to pick them up for dinner.  This time his brother Matt and SIL Sonja met us.  Again... things went great.  Dropped them off home and we went to the room.

Saturday, we woke and met J&B at the IHOP for breakfast.... then back to their home to set everything.  Put out the tables, chairs and set up the outside games.... Joan and i were setting up the Corn hole game and she said... lets you and i play a game... Wow.. sure, i'd love too.  And we did, played two games.  Then we went inside and played a game of dominoes (tim and i against J&B) and a couple games of Yahtzee (i won one and tim won one).  Tim and his dad left to go get the food and that's when Joan and i were left alone....  She and i sat that the Kitchen table and talked for 45 min... It could not have gone better.  But then the others started to arrive.... his other brothers and their wives and kids.

Of course i was out being my normal self... playing games and talking with everyone..... one of his SIL told him before they left.... She's a keeper...hmmmm.  Get this.... his brother Matt is married to a Sonya, brother Dan is married to a Christy, brother Phil... Also married to a Christy..... and im Christina.... hehehe.... Anyway, the day was great... i felt so welcomed by everyone.

Sunday, breakfast again with J&B then back to their house for a little bit till we had to head to the airport.

Yesterday, he said.... You definitely passed the mom and dad test..... now, off to West Palm Beach for the middle son test on the 5th.

Gaining weight after 250+ lb loss since 2008

hey kathy.... i had my band for 8.5 years. Unfortunately i got sick with a virus threw up and slipped my band. They tried a complete unfill but it didn't help. So on March 23rd me and my Tina sadly split..... Since i have maintained the way i ate with "tina"... and have been able to keep my weight the same. I know that its up to me to eat the way i know to eat. So, even though i can eat bread rice pasta and other stuff i have stayed away. I figure if i went with out it for 8.5 years.... i don't need it. I have been tempted, but i am holding strong. I know one day ill slip, but hopeful i can get back on track. My suggestion to you is to start over.... do a two week liquid, 2 week puree, 2 week soft and then set your mind to not eating the things that you didn't eat before. You can do it.

    Coffee

My dr never mentioned no coffee or alcohol.... i can live with out the alcohol... but COFFEE... The world couldn't handle me off of coffee.....
  8. Tomorrow will be three weeks since my band removal.  So far i've managed to maintain my weight and even went down a pound or two.  So far so good.

This weekend is a big one....  I'm flying to Ga to meet Tim's family.  I was supposed to go the weekend of the 24th... but the emergency band removal killed that.  So we are going for Easter.  i'm a bit nervous.... apparently his mom likes none of her daughter in laws and never liked any of Tim's gf's or his wife of 21 years.....

So ya'll pray for me... hehe

    i'll update on Monday

    have a Happy Easter Everyone

    Hey Short Ladies!

BF bought these for me this weekend...... Love them.... This is the color too https://www.loft.com/cropped-skinny-chinos/420198?skuId=22329837&defaultColor=8570&colorExplode=false&catid=catl000014
  12. I have said this many many times over the past 8.5 years..... that one of the things to watch for are the "friends" that don't want you to succeed because it reflects on their failures. Your fat friends want you to stay fat so you can be just like them... a member of the Herd.... They will still want you to go out with them but mostly to places to eat... and not good stuff. Every pound you lose is a punch to their self image. They well become jealous of you... they can't help it. Watch out for the thin friends too..... they don't want you to succeed either... they want you to stay fat. You know there is always at least one skinny girl in the group... She's the one that when you go out... the men talk too.... This is because she is the thin one.... She doesn't want you to be skinny... then she won't get all the attention anymore. So watch for that too. Good luck, Chris

    Saying.... Thanks

hello everyone .... And thanks for sticking around. From someone that's been on this site for a long time.... Since 2009.... from time to time a change is needed.... We should never let a few bad apple spoil the whole bunch. Never is it ok to allow any person/persons to make anyone feel bullied, belittled, unimportant, dumb... Etc. We are all here for basically the same reason.... To be with people that have been in our shoes... We all started at the same place. We were all obese and looking to make a change in our lives for the better. We found this site looking for answers. Answers to questions no matter how large or small. I'm sure if you thought of the question... someone else is thinking it too but may be afraid to ask. NO ONE has all the answers. So I say.... ask... I'm sure someone here may have an answer... if not, must of us will say... Check with your DR. So stick around... there are still plenty of the Vet's here with years and years of experience, knowledge and advice to give. Lots of amazing people here with amazing success stories to aspire too... I'm not going to say the thought of leaving didn't cross my mind... it did. I was going to only because i didn't like the drama..... Then that night I got a PM asking if a member could share my Before/Afters with a coworker... I said sure and the next message was how encouraged he said she was to start her very own journey. THAT.. makes it all worth it... so I stay to try and encourage those who are to come behind me, like I was encouraged all the years ago...

Spouse says to stop losing weight

Hell yes...... and he is regretting not supporting me and being selfish and self-centered.... But on a better note.... i met a great guy name Tim and soooo supportive.... Never left my side during my recent Emergency band removal...

Spouse says to stop losing weight

My now ex husband told me that... and then cancelled the gym membership. Said i was "skinny enough"..... I've had family and friends say.... how much more do you want to lose? I tell them... my body will tell me when. Keep focused and do you and forget the rest....
  16. Hello everyone....  What a ruff week it has been.  What started with a bug... Ended Thursday with my BEST friend leaving me.  Tina (my band)... is gone.  After 8 years 4 months and 13 days....  It was a great journey for sure.

The slip was pretty bad.... i was less than 24 hours from a perforated stomach.  But i feel much better.  The pain i was in was the most unbearable pain i have ever felt..... and everyone who knows me here, know how much of a high tolerance i have for pain.

So, it's up to me now.... i must continue on my journey with only the knowledge i have gained over the years and pray that i can do it alone.

But, even though i don't have my band anymore... i will still come here, because you all are my friends and i treasure your support.

    xoxo

    Chris

    New to dating

SGC..... this is the way i look at things.... What's the worse someone can say.... NO..... Ok, then move on. But you have to put yourself out there. No one will come banging on your door. People will click with who they will.... not everyone is for you... or for me... or anyone else. my advice, hang out at place that you enjoy. If she's there, she must enjoy it too.... and there's your opener. Take a deep breath and just jump in with a Hello... i'm ????. Can i offer you something to drink? If she say no... just shake her hand and say... Well you have a wonderful evening..... NEXT. Or join a singles group some place.... look around in your area and see what kinds of groups are out there. I'm not one that only looks at what a person looks like.... i look at there since of presence.... if that makes since.... i love a confident man.... NOT COCKY.... Wear something nice.... like a good pair of jeans that fit you.... noting too baggy... prefer dark color... Nice button down shirt, no flowers or crazy patterns....with a coordinating tee under it. Nice shoes... nothing old or raggy. I always look at a mans shoes... it say a lot about him. Fix your hair and wear some cologne..... but don't bath in it. if you like jewelry, one chain, watch... that's it. Then sit your self down and scan the room. Try to avoid large groups of woman... there is always some bi*ch in the group that sets the tone for the rest.... if you like someone in the group... wait till she is alone are almost alone. or wait till you see her drink is almost empty... Then send her one over... or if you are feeling it... send the group a round... it shows you are not cheap. But make sure the waitress knows the most important one is singled out..... Say, i want to buy a round for that group... but you see the pretty one in Red.. tell her my name is ???? Then when she delivers the drink... make good eye contact... don't look down.... and smile. Good luck

Is It True What They Say???

well im sure the weight loss will help you find some "hidden" attributes.... Don't feel bad.... i not long ago came across a man with the smallest... wewe i have ever seen.... You know that statue of David and how he has that nub... Well.. there you go. No we didn't have sex..... i just couldn't. You would think he would have said something... we went on quite a few dates. but that was a deal breaker for me....
  24. sooooooo many things...... #1... don't marry your first husband at 16... #2... don't quite school.... #3... go to collage #4... don't listen to anyone when they say...
