@MNgirl1234 I experienced the same thing years ago. We were married for 26 years. The last 5-6 were hell. When we first got together i was about 100#.... (5'2") So i was very tiny. I started gaining in my 30ies and put on 132#. In my mind the reason we stopped having sex was my weight. I now know that it was not. I thought if i only lost weight he would find me attractive again and want to be with me.... NOPE. If anything it got worse. He would say the most horrible things after i lost 89#. I was too thin, my face wasn't pretty anymore because you could see some wrinkles, I looked like a "bag of bones"..... and of course i was losing weight to "find another man".... I could stand naked in front of him and he would look around me or tell me to move. It was devastating...... I started getting attention from other men/woman and it became intoxicating.... I was finally getting the praise and reassurance... but not from the ONE person i wanted it from..... We only had sex maybe 1-2 times a year. I was starved for affection, as i am a very touchy person.... I craved attention from him in every way. The last few years i strayed from my marriage. I told him that i needed him, needed attention, needed affection, and yes..... NEEDED SEX. Honestly, i was "self-satisfying" every day. He didn't care..... so i told him, if he didn't i would find someone who would.... and i did. Not saying it was the right thing to do..... but what's done is done and i own up to it. We tried counseling, but honestly, it was too late... I had shut down and checked out. We divorced...... I dated..... I found the love of my life. Happier than i have ever been. I think i was around 47-48ish when i decided i was not going to live the next half of my life like that.... so i "got off the pot" so to speak.... so glad i did.

Hate bypass
BayougirlMrsS replied to DesperateEC's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I probably read over it, but why did you revise? I was a bandmember from 2009-2017 and lost about 89#. (232#-143#). Lost it due to a slip, due to a stomach flu. Was WLS free for 2.5 years and gained 30#. Day of sleeve 8/28/19 (tomorrow is 9 mths) 173#.... today 126#. I'm worried about regain with the sleeve. funny that i was never fearful of regain with the band. I had much better control with the band than with the sleeve. I've done great with the sleeve.... but i seen how people slowly increase their food and regain. Right now i'm still at the 2-3 bites and i'm full, but i'm hungry again sooner. With the band i was hardly ever hungry. -
Hate bypass
BayougirlMrsS replied to DesperateEC's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Have a question and it may sound stupid..... but if you already had the sleeve and now have the RNY..... How can there be no restriction? Did the dr not re cut the sleeve to make it small again? or did they just do the MGB... / by pass? -

BayougirlMrsS replied to DesperateEC's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Sleeve can be reversed.... Not by a "surgery", but by going back to your old ways of eating and stretching out the stomach. Yes the MGB can be reversed, but why would you want to? -
Did you keep surgery a secret? What did you tell people?
BayougirlMrsS replied to FinallyLosingIt20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one in my family even know about the SX at all..... i live out of state. Only people that knew was co workers and a couple of people hubby worked with. And they were told exactly what i told him to say...... having a hernia repaired..... Which i did..... Hubby is so good now if people ask and he is around........ he jumps in and says.... She changed her eating habits... Which i did. This weekend will be a challenge.....His parents are coming to spend the weekend with us and will be eating breakfast, lunch and dinner around me...... Ughhhh -

Did you keep surgery a secret? What did you tell people?
BayougirlMrsS replied to FinallyLosingIt20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never been "ashamed" of having WLS.... just didn't want to deal with all the crap that comes with it. I had the experience of telling and NOT telling is wayyyyy better. Like @FinallyLosingIt20 said: I know I can't control what people say or think, but I can control what they know about me. I like that saying.... i'm going to use that more. -
why does he/she wanting it out? are you having issues? I think the dr's that are doing this is just trying to make more money.... (my opinion) My two cents, for what it's worth..... Leave it alone if you're not having issues. For one, getting a revision paid by insurance is damn near impossible for those of us who followed the rules and didn't gain all the weight back. I was banded in 2009 at 232#, ER band removal 2017 at 143#..... started looking for a dr to do a revision and was told over and over again..... You don't weigh enough. fast forward 2.5 years and hell trying to keep the weight off i was up to 173#..... and trust in the fact that it was hard not to gain more... i went hungry, diet pills, lax., went to crossfit 4-5 days a week and still..... and for people that say... just eat like you did when you had the band..... F U... it's is damn near impossible to do that. Two weeks after the band was gone.... hunger came back with a vengeance. I had forgotten what "hunger" felt like.... well it sucks. So after 2.5 years of nothing.... i had my mind set that i was going to Mex to have the MGB.... but as luck would have it i found a dr. 10 min away from my office. He and i talked and he agreed to do a revision... but i had to agree to the sleeve and pay 14k out of pocket.... which i did. that was 38 weeks ago today (8/28/19). Went in weighing 173#.... today i'm at 126ish...(125-127). From a size 10 to a 2-4 Do i miss my band..... EVERY DAY. Do i wish i still had her.... EVERY DAY.

I post no pictures of my face on any of the groups i belong too. I have gone to WLS site and new people or people of people.... it's just easier to have a separate one. -

how far are you from the Hospital? If you can, schedule a driver. Have them drop you off and then have them pick you up. My VSG was the easiest SX i ever had. Was only off work for 2 day. I only told work i was having hernia SX in case something went wrong..... I could have said nothing and just told them i was taking a long weekend to go out of town. Only other people that know are long time friends i made here back when it was Lapbandtalk..... and they are all out of state...... and the new friends since coming back to this site -

Did you keep surgery a secret? What did you tell people?
BayougirlMrsS replied to FinallyLosingIt20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These 4 people are 3 too many and if you could get away with it, i would just tell that person that you're having hernia surgery (SX). I had Band SX in 2009 (232#) when WLS was still "taboo". I told my now ex husband, two sons, and two friends. I thought surely they could keep a secret...... NOPE. I was blindsided one day with..... Hey i heard you had WLS. I was like a deer in headlights. Then i had to fess up. When she (band) was removed in 2017 (143#) i made it no secret that it was gone. Fast forward.....2019 (173#) i decided to revise to the sleeve due to the weight gain (30#) and I had the money to do it (divorce settlement 14K). The only person that knows is my husband. Everyone was told i had Hernia SX, which was true. I did have a double hernia repair. I went in on 8/28/19 Wednesday and i was back at work on monday. by my wedding day 9/26/19, i was down 20lbs. People didn't think anything of the WL because they knew i was dieting for the wedding. Today I'm at 125-127. My weight has become a nonissue. KNOW THIS..... if you tell more than one..... it will get out. People will give you their "unsolicited" advice and or thoughts. You will get the .... Why? can't you lose it the "natural" way? I know a lot of people the SX didn't work WLS, you might die.... and the best one.... You don't weight enough for WLS..... Just a few to let you know. I love the fact that NO ONE knows this time... SO MUCH BETTER. -
VENTINGGGGGG Today was my first day back at work..... These people are already on my last nerve..... Ughhhhhhh As you all know, the hubby tested positive April 30th.... One of his co-worker passed it on... Anyway, I went for the first test on Friday, May 1st.... which came back negative. But i still had to stay home for two weeks.... I went for my second test last Wednesday and it came back negative also. No, we didn't stay away from each other, yes we slept in the same bad, yes we did the "normal" married couple things.... I asked the dr. if we need to stay apart ... Blah blah blah... they both said no, that if i was going to get it, it was too late..... So we were together 24/7 since April 23rd.... Did i wear a mask, NO. Did i go crazy washing my hand a million times a day... NO... No more than normal. (must be the bayou blood) So yes it is possible for only one person in the house to test positive and others not too.... BUT, on a positive note we did, ..... Clean baseboards in the house, hang shelves in the storage, paint the garage, paint the main hall in the house, change all the light switches from regular to the flat and some to smart switches, pressure washed the patio and furniture, found out what was on the other side of the lake (hehe), Cooked new recipes, learned how to use the new expresso machine...... and i managed to lose 2lbs. Yes, I did drink at night for my and hubby's well being.... hehe. End vent......

Tim has been making me Lemon drop martini's everynight..... Thanks for the drink.... had yours this weekend when i learned how to work the new expresso machine tim bought.... Now we have twoooooo
