Yeah, gonna cram all that in here hehe Do they make a Protein PILL? I think I have finally broken the plateau and figured out that my body loses decently with <30 carbs and 100+ Proteins. I'm having a heck'uva time getting in 100+ protein though, even with shakes and wonder if anyone has ever seen a protein pill? NSV... I am no longer MORBIDLY OBESE! :clap2: I want to call every single Dr. I've had in the last 15 years and force them to erase those words off of the front of my chart! (ugh, why do they put that on the front). Offer... I have an excel document that you enter height, beginning weight, etc into and then your daily, weekly, whatever weights and it figures out BMI, total weight lost, and weight loss per month. PM me with an e-mail address and I'll send it to you. I did not make it BTW, I got it from some other boards but the creator receives credit still inside the worksheet.

She mentioned lower rib pain with a gallbladder is on the right side. She tested me for a pancreas issue and that came back negative.

About a year ago I started to get lower left side rib pain about twice a month, it's grown and grown and now I get it almost every night. This pain is sharp and radiates into my left shoulder (No, it's not my heart). It is mostly at night, in fact up until about a month ago it was only at night but now it's starting to come during the day and the pains are so sharp it sometimes makes it hard to take a deep breath. Tylenol isn't strong enough to touch it btw. I finally talked to my Dr. once about it and ... of course... the first thing out of her mouth was "I wonder if that port is rubbing on something." As many of you, I had my surgery in Mexico and if it IS port pain my insurance will drop me like a rock. The Dr wants to start running CT and MRI's.. again, if it's found to be the port insurance won't cover any of that and if I had any money I wouldn't have had surgery in Mexico. The last time it started I actually found my port and giggled it a tad, it didn't help... I didn't think it would but figured I'd give it a try. I wanted to know if anyone has had similar pain and if it was the port. If it is the port I may need to try to save up and go back to Mexico. This is so irritating, I can't sleep because of the pain and now that it's during the day it's just making me miserable. ETA : I've had my lapband since 6/1/06 and have tried all different positions with no change in pain.

Oh wow that's great, congratulations!

Personally, I've never felt restriction longer than 2 weeks and I've had 10 fills.

Just as a side note.. Claritin comes in a dissolving tablet, I'm on it and it's through prescription... it's so much nicer to get the adult dose without a pill and actually, they are quite yummy imo.

If anyone remembers me hehe.. I took a year off of band-life! The first year I was banded I got 10 fills and still wasn't restricted, I was so burned out and tired of the hoping/praying/begging that I gave up. So for the last year I've gained 3lbs eating whatever I wanted, not excercising, not caring basically. I'm ready to get back into things. I'm not happy with my 85lb weight loss (well... now it's more like 82). So first thing's first... I have an appointment on 3/7 to see my Dr. in Mexico to try and find out why I've never felt restriction, even after 10 fills. I'm set up for a Flouro (sp?) and am mentally prepared for a port replacement, I've warned my Dr. too. The last 2 fills I went in for I was empty. NOW to get back into mental bandage! I feel like I'm starting over, I eat full-sized bites, I drink with meals, all of those things you aren't supposed to be able to do. I am eating about 1/2 what I was pre-band and still can't eat bread or chicken. No pop though.. never was a big pop fan. So now to pull out all my old band rules and re-learn them. I'm trying soooo hard to get excited about losing again but part of me is preparing to get a fill and once again not lose anything (the 85lb weight loss was the first 8 months, the next 4 I tried so hard to lose but didn't... that's when I quit). So I haven't lost a single lb in a year! I even was on nutri-system for 2 months and lost nothing LOL Maybe I'm jinxed. *cheers* Tanya

Oh wow that made me laugh! I've lost the Worlds Largest Ball of Tape and a Chihuahua. -
What a great NSV! I've been dying to go to the Lagoon Amusement Park but the rides always have this "If you weight too much your butt gets booted of in front of everyone" sign.. ok that's my wording but theirs has the same meaning. I can't wait til I can go on the rides!

I'll be in Malvern PA the week of the 16th and my fill Dr. here is booked up for almost a month! Does anyone know a fill doctor that takes Mexico patients and has late night appointments? I see Fillcentersusa has one in Mt. Laurel NJ which is supposed to be 34 miles away but I'm leary to try a fill Dr. no one has used. No idea on the Doctor's name though.

Yeah me again.. the high protein, low carb thing quit working and now I'm gaining about a lb a day! I know I kicked the protein up a notch. I am running between 15 - 22 carbs a day with 100 - 130 protein. Could I be gaining weight because I'm getting too many protein? Trying to figure out why I was losing so good on it and now I'm gaining it all back.

"First Year - the operation pretty much does all of the work for you. This means you will lose weight almost in spite of yourself" Now THAT is depressing hehe, what if you can't seem to lose weight after 6 months? That means in June everything will get twice as hard when it's already not happening. Thanks for the info though! I'm going to read and re-read and see if I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

*thinks*thou shalt not covet Seriously though, congratulations! I bet that feels amazing!

I do log everything on fitday.com (I never break 1000 calories). I started out with 20-25 carbs and 90ish Protein and lost weight fast! I was extatic as I started losing weight for the first time in months... but I think I OD'd on Protein and got really sick and headachy and now I've gained it all back (well, all the weight I lost on the low carb thing). I'm just desperate to figure out what MY body needs to lose weight! I've tried a low carb diet, a low fat diet, a low calorie (<600) diet and I do lose weight on all of them... then it all comes right back. If I don't diet I maintain UGH so frustrating! Course, I got this band so I could stop dieting but I was under the false impression that if you followed the bandster rules that you'd lose weight... boy was I wrong.

I need some support :cry I'm tired (kids were fussy all night), I have a sinus headache and I've gained 2 lbs in 2 days... I want OFF this low carb/ high protein crab and I want some ice cream! My co-worker brought in donuts... so while everyone went to the breakroom to laugh and joke and eat, I sat in my cube feeling sorry for myself. I'll never make it through today without eating something bad :think

Unjury has one and I love their products! You order them online.

I'm just curious... what do they do if you are at full band fill but still not restricted well? The reason I'm asking is that I have the 9.75 band, the fill doctor I use said he can only give me .5 cc's more and my band will be at maximum capacity... so what happens if I'm still not restricted enough to lose weight? I am at 2.5cc's right now and I had this awesome restriction (for the first time) 2 days after the fill. I was eating less and full longer, though I didn't lose any weight I still felt restricted but now all of that is gone so I want to go back for another fill.
-
I haven't tried this but a few weeks ago someone mentioned Tonalin suppliments will break cravings. Until then I'd snag a protein bar (I prefer Pria Carb)... then you get chocolate with low carb and protein.
-
Thanks for all of the information! If my Dr. won't go above 3cc's then I'll go elsewhere. He is able to pull out all of the fluid btw, he checked it last time.

Great news!!!

It was suggested here at work that I may want to go and get a complete blood workup to find out why my weight loss stopped all of a sudden a few months ago. I know to get my thyroid checked but I'm wondering what else I should make sure they check for. Has anyone done this? If so what tests did they run?
-
Who knows.. my doctor ditched me when I got banded so I haven't had a doctor since 6/1/06. I tried this new Dr. yesterday and all he said when he called was "I ran everything and it all is normal". I asked what he ran and he said "all I could". UGH Is there such a thing as a Dr. that has time?? The other thing that ticked me off about him is he said "How much pop do you drink?" I told him I don't drink pop.. his response? "That's a first" with rolled eyes. I haven't had a single sip of pop since the night before my surgery! Why do they assume if you aren't losing weight it's because you are cheating??
-
I did get all of that and not a thing is wrong... I'm just either done losing or VERY stuck.
-
WOW though, 120oz of water in a day?? I struggle to get my 60oz... I'll try it though, at this point I'll try anything.
