  1. I did an hour of circuit combined with boxercise yesterday. It went well. Dinner was a disaster though. I felt extremely thight last night. It`s quite strange because I was perfectly alright at lunch time and had a well-balanced meal. Feeling alright this morning.
  2. Hope you all had good weekends. Good to read from you all. Okiegirl, welcome home. The track awaits you getting on it, hun. What are you doing exercise-wise this week? Astrasmom, congrats on your weight loss of 2lbs last week. That`s wonderful and even moreso with the idea that you`ve only got 8lbs to goal. Wow, you rock, Girl. Cindylou, what a shame about the injury. It`s always a bummer when that happens. Walking is good though, just widen your strides at intervals. Hun, thanks for your querry and advice on the Vitamins. Yeah, I take them, especially at times that I don`t feel like I`m eating well. I`ve fully recovered from my illness now. It was severe abdominal pains that lingered for a long time, causing me to collapse at a point and made it very difficult for me to eat but I kept the drinking going and that helped a lot. I tried, since the illness to exercise yesterday but could only manage 35 minutes of circuit before I collapsed on the floor with exhaustion. I`m going to try circuit training again this evening since we are eating out tonight and tomorrow night and I will not feel I deserve it without exercise. Well, let`s see what the week brings.
  3. Thanks, LeighaMason. I couldn`t post yesterday. Quite a busy schedule and had to go on a trip as well fufilling my rugby groupie duties. I weighed yesterday though and I had broken the stall by 2lbs. I wouldn`t hold much Water with that though! I experimented on Thursday to see whether one can gain up to 5lbs in a day and believe me it`s possible. I managed to gain 3lbs within 4 hours just by drinking almost 3ltrs of still water. It therefore, depends on how one retains water at times. Well, a ltr of water weighs 2.2lbs (1kg). Lesson learnt from that is a daily weigh is still a no-no and I don`t even want to continue with a weekly weigh. I`m going to start weighing fortnightly now. I can`t update this thread now since there have been no update from anyone recently apart from Leigh, who is doing wonderfully anyway. My hope is that you`re all doing great with your challenges. Have fab. weekend, you all.
  4. I couldn`t agree with more and that`s why i`m scared of the impact my illness and lack of exercise is going to have on my getting out of this stall. As much as I want to reach my goal, I know that starvation and getting into ketosis is not going to be the answer for me but as it stands, I`m struggling to find a reasonable space to be in, calorie intake-wise. Before I started this challenge, I sometimes went for a number of weeks without weighing when I was in stalls and I know that during those times I gained and lost weight. It just gets frustrating when you up your intake and either stall or gain weight. However, I will definitely up the calories a bit. I don`t mind you advising me at all, LeighaMason, I feel that that`s what I need at the moment. Thanks for your support.
  5. I`ve not been feeling well at all since the night of the 9th of August so I`ve had a total bed rest since. It also means that I`ve not been able to eat well. I feel that not eating well and exercising is going to have a great impact on my plan to get out of this stall quickly but I will see what tomorrow brings. Hope you`re all doing well.
  6. LeighaMason, I felt that I needed to give my pouch a rest and therefore replaced my food with Meal Replacements which are nutrient-packed. 3 days ago, I had only 300 calories since I forgot to have dinner but yesterday, I just could not eat so I had 300 calories. I`ve had about 800 calories today (chocolate drink for Breakfast, lunch was Soup and chicken with humous for dinner). My intention is to consume between 500 & 900 calories for a few weeks. I can`t believe you`re already in a size 4 jeans. Well done. You work hard and deserve it. The exercise routine going well. I opted for a 70 minute circuit training instead of a hike today and the sprints and press ups nearly killed me. I was fretting about going for a walk this evening since the circuit took place in the morning and my wonderful rugby player said I could not do it. How right he was. I`m well exercised for the day. I`m hoping to kick myself out this stall sooner that I usually do. I`ll see where I get to on Friday.
  7. Beginning of day 3 of my drastic calorie controlled diet. I`m doing fine and feeling good within myself, actually. I`v been able to drink a cup of decaf coffee with skimmed milk and 250ml of still water already this morning. Usually I struggle to drink so early in the day. The discomfort I feel most nights have also vanished. I know I can`t keep following it long term but it seems to be giving the pouch a break so I`m going to keep it going for a while.
  8. Astrasmom, 5 miles of brisk-walking is great. Keep it up. As I said in an earlier post I feel that we are all at a level that we need to up our exercise routines to get to our goals. You`ve done so well so far so I`ll be justified in saying that 10lbs in over two months should be achievable for you. I did not exercise yesterday and today because I needed to give my body a rest. I was naughtie last night because I forgot to eat before going to bed and I`ve been tired all day today. It`s a hike tomorrow morning for me. I`ll update all our achievements on Friday so please post your achievements (losses, gains, stalls, exercise achievements, diet achievements etc). I`ll compile them so that we can give each other the necessary support and / or praise. Hope you`re all doing well.
  9. Of course not, hun. Well done on your achievement. Keep up the good work.
  10. I posted this morning about my massive weight gain within a day. I`ve had to delete it because just found out that my scales had gone. Yeh, Wow, faulty scales, phew!. Sigh of relief. Still at a stall though but what`s new? Still keeping exercise routine going. Resting today though. My drastic eating plan? I`ve already started so I`m going to keep it going for about a week or two to give the pouch a break. I`m drinking a lot of liquid to flash out, 4ltrs so far today. I`ve had two coffees though instead of the one I usually have and I`ve had a highly calorific (143) chocolate drink. Quite sustainable though. I`ve also had oats porridge and will have another meal tonight before going to bed. Apart from that I`ve been on still Water.
  11. Feeling miserable this morning. The stall has set in. Never mind, the battle goes on. I`m supposed to be circuit training today. Wishing you all good day and keep up the good work.
  12. Dana, welcome to the thread, hun. You`re my op-twin. 91lbs loss is wonderful. Great work. Congrats for the weight loss so far. Stalls are frustrating. Are you at your sweet spot yet? If so, then you will need to up your exercise to break the stall. Keep up the good work.
  13. Good going, LeighaMason. 2lbs in 3 days is great. You`re really going to reach your goal by October. I`m watching this space.
  14. LorraineM, welcome to the thread, hun. Good work done so far, congrats. 40lbs by October will be a challenge and a half but I`ve set myself a huge challenge as well. We will get there (reach our goal) even if not by October! Cindy, how did the boot camp go? You doing pretty good with your exercise routine, hun. Quite inspirational. Astrasmom, I feel that we`ve all got to that point when we need to push ourselves really hard, exercise-wise to reach our goals but you`ve done wonderfully so far. Congrats on the news from your nutritionist. By upping your exercise, I`ll not be surprised if you manage to loose the 15lbs by October. I`m keeping my exercise routine pretty hectic at the moment so hopefully that will unsettle my body and make the scales move the right way. Good luck to us all.
  15. How did the kickboxing go? Love kickboxing but I`ve not done it for about 2yrs now, Shame. shopping most of the day and night would have taken a lot out of you as well. It took me 3hrs and 8 minutes to complete the 14 mile course. There was a lot of encouragement though to jog and brisk-walk the distance. The feeling afterwards was just great! I went for an 8 mile jog, brisk walk and arm weight training the following day. I then took a break and did some circuit training yesterday. I`ve already done my jog and run this morning so the exercise routine is going great. Keep up the good work, hun.
  16. Renee hun, it was good to read your post. The challenge begins now, right? Loosing a lb in two months is better than gaining it but it will be great to quadriple that this month. It`s achievable, girl. You just need to vary the intake and the exercise. You`re keeping the Fluid intake going. That`s pretty good. Hun, I like your exercise routines, keep it going. My hope is that the recent fill takes you to your sweet spot so that you don`t get hungry as often as you do. In regards of my intake, below is my yesterday`s total intake: Breakfast - Oat porridge with skimmed milk and splenda. Lunch - 2 Oatcakes with humous, pate & olives. dinner - Grilled Tilapia & prawn with salsa (tomato, peppers & onions). Snacks - 6 cashew nuts & Onken wholegrain strawberry yoghurt. Drink - 1 cup of decaf coffee with skimmed milk, 500ml of home extracted pinneaple juice with ginger and 3ltrs of still water. Exercise - Circuit training facilitated by a fabulous rugby player. It nearly killed me but I felt great afterwards. Looking forward to reading your posts and progress, hun.
  17. Thanks for the compliment hun, I called the session my pleasurable pain after a bit of a sulk. I`m now more concerned / upset when / if I`m not able to exercise than the scales staying the same or going back. Shopping is also a good therapy. Isn`t it? and size 6-8? Wow, girl! and I bet you look great in them as well. Keep up the good work.
  18. It`s good that you`ve lost the 2lbs lost last week, LeighaMason. Wow, and you`ve stopped drinking wine completely, good luck. Loosing 8lbs should be a doddle then. I went for a super-long walk today. Brisk-walked for 14 miles. It felt great afterwards. I was feeling pretty low and sorry for myself this morning due to being lured by the scales again and finding out that I had not lost anything since Friday. I went into the what`s the point mode for about an hour, cocooned in my bed but hey, I got up, got ready and started walking! Pretty proud of myself.
  19. Wow! a 4lb loss? That`s great, girl. Congrats. I`ll join you in the walk tomorrow.
  20. cinylou00, how did the gym session go? In regards to the couch to 5k, I don`t have much information about it. It seems that okiegirl79 is going to find out so hopefully, she will let us know and we can all go for it. okiegirl79, congrats on the 2lbs lost. That`s great. I `ve done well in the last week with the exercise and my eating apart from last night when I feel I over-did it (all healthy though!) with the food and a glass of wine to boot. The scale registers 2lbs loss today but I know my bad behaviour last night will catch up with me eventually. Hope you all have great weekend.
  21. Cindylou00, welcome to the thread. Wow, great weight loss. Congrats, such an inspiration. 20lbs by Oct, 23rd should be achievable. In regards to the exercise, yeah, I agree with you. You`re definitely making excuses. Did you manage to go for the walk? How did it go? I went for a walk this morning and it did me the world of good. You`ve done great so far, amazing actually, keep up the good work.
  22. Renee hun, how did the fill go today? Paying for them is a drain, isn`t it? I`m a self-paid and pay £100 per fill. About $160ish? Hope this one gives you maximum restriction and takes you to your sweet spot. Even with 6cc in 10cc, you should not be getting as hungry as you do inbetween meals but each individual is unique. if you`re getting some restriction, that means that the band is well placed. Sometimes it gets placed too low which means that the top pouch becomes too large. Thanks for making a list of the intake. I will give you my take and hopefully others will chip in with their support as well. When you previously logged your intake did you check the calories being consumed and considered cutting down or what you could sacrifice for the time being? I feel that your daily intake is a lot and needs to be reviewed. You seem to be eating 6 times a day so you need to reduce the portions of the 3 main meals. My approach and bariatric team`s advice is that you try to eat 3 meals a day or 5-6 small ones. I know you mentioned that you are creature of habits and don`t want to deprive yourself but I think you need to make a change to your lifestyle and habit for the band to work. You need to make the tool work for you and the only way you`re going to do that is to make some sacrifices for now. I`m saying for now because it will get to a point that you will not even want to eat certain items. They simply will not appeal to you after you`ve made away with them for a while. Some habits could / should definitely be broken or do away with. Hun, try to cut off all processed foods, such as donut, ice cream, whipped cream and shop bought sauces from your diet or minimise the intake. Peanut butter can be a real killer so if you can`t do without it, buy the no added sugar bland and limit your intake to a spoon or two per go. I hardly go near that stuff because I can easily sit down and consume a 340 gram bottle in a go. Worse still, it is a sliding food. You have to also consider whether wheat-based products are trigger foods for you and minimise your intake. They are very addictive and don`t give you the necessary nutrients needed by your reduced pouch to function properly. Have you also considered upping your Protein and cutting down on carbohydrate? Personally, I see increase in my weight loss when I reduce my carbohydrate intake, especially the processed ones. Even wholemeal crackers soon add up. I guess in my simple and lay-person`s way, what I`m trying to say is that you need to make some sacrifices which will be rewarding in time. You did not mention what you drink, apart from the coffee. Are you drinking enough Water? Do you drink alcohol or carbonated sugary drinks? Sometimes people drink their calories without realising. Some drinks can contain as much as 500 calories, I`m told. So one needs to be careful with drinks. Keep to water whenever possible. You mentioned that you exercise in your previous post. Do you go to the gym or do you go for aerobics? Walking, running, swimming / aquafit, spinning, cross training, rowing etc are all quite effective in burning the calories and most of them cost nothing. For instance, I can walk and jog up to 10 miles a day in the fresh air. As well as burning the calories, it clears my mind as well. Oh Boy, I`m turning into my mum. I know you do so much of the above already or have done it before but will you consider re-doing it as a challenge? Renee, you will be fine. Just make some adjustment to your lifestyle. You`ve taken the biggest step of all by getting the tool, make it work for you. Please ignore anything that will not be beneficial to you and keep in touch. Thinking of you.
  23. Hi Renee, is there anything we can do to help? Have you got restriction? Have you got a 10cc band? I`m reading that your bariatric team are quite conservative with the fills or is it your choice? 24lbs in 9 months is pretty low and I understand why you get frustrated. Have you logged your intake before. Sometimes it helps when you write what you eat and drink down. I`m also sure that if you log what you are eating here or give us an idea of what you`re eating, then we may be able to offer support. Another important question is, is the band placed at the appropriate place? My hope is that you don`t give up. Good luck. Danyett, welcome to the threat. Congrats on your achievement so far. Stalls are a pain, vary your diet and exercise a little and that will hopefully get you going again.
  24. Okiegirl79, I guess I was posting the same time you were. Sorry to hear that you`ve not been feeling well. I hope you`ve fully recovered now. Don`t assume a defeatist position, girl. Of course you`re going to do better this week. I`m rooting for you. Good luck.
  25. Good day today. brisk-walk and jog for 6 miles. All going well.
