Accountability thread for October Bandsters!
kcg replied to kcg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Struggling this afternoon. Is any of you, ladies on line? I feel like eating till I drop and I don`t have any restriction at all. I`ve scheduled a fill but it`s not until 29th of October. I sent an email to the team asking whether there is an earlier schedule available in one of their other centres and haven`t got a response yet. Desperately need some encouragement. -

Salsa and corn chips, YUMMY! but hun, you`re just like me. You don`t do things by halves. Moderation, my Girl, moderation! LOL. You must still be proud of your achievement and ability to maintain though. Doing fabulously well. Keep it up. I`m extremely proud of myself with my diet today actually. I`ve been stressed to the moon today so the desire to starve myself was very strong this morning then tonight, I desperately wanted to get drunk, chilling a bottle of white in the process. Hooray, I overcame both temptations. I ate well and didn`t take the cork off the bottle. Is this the new me? I wouldn`t count / bet on it but I`m still loving me today. Hope you`re all doing well. -

Thanks HDmama. You`re an inspiration! Don`t stay too restricted for too long but my guess is that the band will loosen up when the swelling goes down in a few days. -

HDmama, it`s great that your port had not flipped and I`m glad you`re feeling restricted now. How did you manage to lose such substantial weight within a year with just two fillings? How many cc band? Good news from your bariatric team. Congrats. I seem to be stalling, my fault. Restricted my intake too much and then binged for a while. I actually gained weight at a point within the past fortnight. 2lbs loss this weigh-in. Need a fill but may not be able to have it done until the 29th. Hope you`re all doing well. -

Adrienne, happy bandversary. 63lbs? A great loss, congrats. Hope you manage to escape the dreadful stall soon. Cindylou, I`m 5.7ish so the top of my healthy BMI should be 25 (around 160lbs) but I`ve set my goal at 145lbs. My problem for the past week is that I can eat whatever and in any amount and I seem to be indulging and the exercising is also out of the window. My bad! I will start being good tomorrow, promise. Happy bandversary to all those who are there and good luck to all of us. -

Wow!, It`s October. Well the bandversaries are going to roll in now. Cindylou, have you had the unfill yet? You have to get away from the sliding foods. They`re not user-friendly! The unfill, however slight should address that. Have you still got 6lbs to go till goal? My guess is that it could be achieved by the 23rd. Good luck. HDmama, come on, you`ve got to fit in the exercise somewhere, however messy the schedule becomes. Easier said than done, I should know. 4lbs in 3 weeks is achievable, Girl. Who knows you may be able to work towards the new goal within the 3 weeks with a little push! Why did you lower / up your goal? With me, the more I lose weight, the more I feel that 145lbs could be too low for me. I`m going to try to get there though but if I find myself looking gaunt then I will put on a few lbs. Well, 19 days to bandversary, goal or not. I`ll let you know. I`ll do my usual fortnightly weighing next Friday. Good luck, you all. -

I can`t wait to find out where I get to on the 20th either. Just taking things in my stride a day at a time. Leigha, you`re doing wanderfully on the maintenance. Very proud of you. I hope you`re doing well. I can`t wait to see the article about you. How is everyone else doing? please let us know. -

Too busy yesterday so didn`t post. I weighed myself as usual though and lost 13lbs. It`s great but the real test comes between now and October, 20th. 8lbs to goal I set at the beginning of the journey. I think 12lbs to the goal set for this challenge. Heyho, we live to see. Hope you`re all doing well. -
1 week Post Op & not HUNGRY ...
kcg replied to glam_gabbi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got banded in October, 20th and have never felt hungry. That does not mean I don`t eat too much at times, on the contrary but I still have to make myself eat regular meals. I can go a whole day without eating if I choose to do so. Something in me changed with the band. -

Leigha, way to go. I`m glad you had fun in your jailbreak run. It must be pleasing beating your son`s girlfriend. Don`t let her live it down until March when you go for the next run. Looking forward to seeing the pictures you post. HDmama, sorry to read you`re unwell. Speedy recovery, hun. Abit of tightness do us a lot of good. I`m feeling quite restricted at the moment because of the time of the month so I`m hoping I get good results on Friday. Welsh men and their rugby eh? Hope everybody else is doing great this week. -

Feeling lethargic this afternoon but going to get something to eat and go grocery shopping. I refused to be a rugby groupie today so had a lie in but on 2nd thought, I should have gone because it usuall wakes me up and the brisk-walk around the pitch whilst watching the game do me a lot of good. Hey-ho, there will be another day. Hope you`re all reaching for the sky. Keep in touch. -
Sparky, you`ve done well so far. 30lbs in 5 mths is still within the expectations of bandsters. I admire the walks you do whilst at work. Keep it up, hun. Don`t be afraid of going to see your bariatric team whether you`ve gained weight or not. You need to be restricted enough and to achieve this, I`m assuming you need yet another fill. If you`re anything like me, the up and down in weight loss / gain appear normal until you choose not to weigh yourself too often. I`ve now restricted weighing to twice a month. Even if I get tempted to weigh and do so, I mainly ignore the numbers and it`s working for me. Hun, you`ve got to cut off the junk. The cravings will forever be there but you need to go for healthier options. Aim for protein based, fruit and vegetable options and drink a lot of water. You`re going to be alright. Just up your exercise, go for another fill and go for healthier options. Good luck.

Congrats on reaching your goal. Well done!

Of course the port can flip and does flip but it`s easily rectified. Sorry it happened to you.

Did your Dr. call you after the surgery?
kcg replied to tle5000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad you`re post-op and doing well. I don`t think bariatric surgeons usually call to find out how you`re doing after discharge. Your dentist and doctor are brilliant. I don`t get that aftercare. Although I have to mention that the bariatric nurse who assisted in the op came to see me personally but I think it was mainly for taking me through the post-op process more than checking up on me. Good luck with the rest of your journey. -
Food stuck EARLY - 2.5 weeks post-op....?
kcg replied to Canadian_Gurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lesson learnt now. Don`t beat yourself too much, just pick yourself up and move on. You have to keep to liquids for a day or two to rest your pouch. The tenderness will settle soon. Good luck for the rest of your journey. -

I`m doing well, girls and will like to read from all of you. I`m getting withdrawal symptoms now. Come on, let`s motivate each other and run to the post. A few days to October now. Don`t post on the thread if you don`t want to but please pm me because I want / need to know you`re all alright. -

Call me Clare, hun. Oh dear, the wine demon has returned but it`s quite understandable with the stress and your DH playing up and winding you up. Fight within a marriage is always the man`s fault, right? It has to be. Pain, can`t live with/out them. Hey Girl, 134 is fine if you manage to keep it there but I trust in your ability to do so. I`m sorry you`re having a stressful time at work. You don`t work with him, do you? Anyway, I hope you get to see blue the sky soon, hun. I know it`s easier said than done but shrug your shoulders hun. Hope you`re feeling a bit better already if not, I`m sending you the warmest of HUGS and a big cheerful kiss. Please PM me if you need to. You could also send me your phone number and I will give you a call if you want me to do so. Either way, let me know that you`re alright, hun. -

I`m doing considerably well with my eating and exercise plan this week. Hope I manage to keep it up since I need to kick myself out of a stall or was it a gain? Just touching base. Hope you`re all reaching for the sky since October will be here shortly! -
I need some help and motivation
kcg replied to InLoveWithMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can`t offer any advice in regards to the amount of food because I`m not familiar with the sizes of the nuggets. I will however say that you`ve got some restriction because if you are lasting 6-7 hours in-between meals then that`s pretty good. Furthermore, over 40lbs weightloss since June is not bad at all. It`s really great! You`re doing great. Keep up the good work. Try restricting yourself to a single portion of food, keep it healthy and exercise and you will be alright. Congrats on the weight loss so far.
