  1. I am at goal. Well, I weighed myself this morning and was at goal! I guess I have been for a little while but has not been bothered with the scales. Well, now the actual work (maintenance) begins. This is when I usually fail during my Yo-Yoing times. However, it took shorter periods then to lose the weight. It`s taken me 3-4 times longer to lose the weight this time and guess what? This time I have my trusted tool to assist me. To say I`m elated is an understatement. I mentioned that I`ve been shopping a lot recently. I went with the DH on two occassions and he offered me money for TT. He put it nicely though. Whilst I was trying on many of the increasingly smaller sizes, he was in the fitting room and said we have to do something aobut the stretchmarks caused by the birth of the children. I`m going to save towards it. He was quite sensitive about it which made me think about it. Not going through with it now though. I will like to maintain for a while first. Cindylou, how did the consideration of your TT go? If I go through mine, it will be done by my wls surgeon whom I trust.
  2. Talk about the new setting being confusing. I`ve just about got it in the office since they messed with it. I`m now getting used to it though. Maintenance is good, HDmama. Provided you`re not gainning, hun. Good for you to be doing well with the exercise. I attempted to walk yesterday but the ground was frosted and it was freezing. I compensated with shopping though. I`ve shopped for 4 days in a row and it can be quite exhausting and utter waist of money in this austerity period! I`m enjoying it though but worried that too soon I will have to change the wardrobe all over again. I`m doing well, just a bit slow in the mornings because I get cloggy and can`t face food, not even liquids. I need to do something about it so any suggestions and / or telling off welcomed. Hope you`re all doing well.
  3. Ohh, Sugarbaby is so sweet. Is Jace your too? I hope you get some relief from work soon. The weather situation is getting tedious and there is a rain forecast for tonight as well but I guess it could be worse. Can`t complain.
  4. Where is everybody? Missing you since I`m feeling pretty lonely here. Well, I`m doing well but have been fighting with the carb and nuts monster recently. It`s amazing though that I didn`t do the alcohol phase for a lengthy period. Very proud of my pretty little socks. LOL Chocolates were not an issue this X`mas at all so that`s an achievement too. I`ll like to hear from all of you, Claire.
  5. Hoorah, I`m glad you`ve shifted those 4lbs. I guess they did not get the opportunity to stick. Good for you. The last 10 will eventually come off. The weather is as British as ever. The snow has stopped and melted away but we`ve been hit continously by rain for the past 5 days. The rugby boys played last weekend, one in Newport and the weather was alright in Wales. It`s not cold though. We`re at 10 to 13 degrees now. Hope the New Year is treating you all well.
  6. Welcome to the thread, Texanne. 28lbs within 3 months is pretty good. Congrats on the weighloss so far and I`m glad you`ve not had any issues with your band. I agree with you, it`s a good and helpful tool. Keep up the good work and keep us updated on your progress. Hi Girls, how`s it going? Hope you`re all doing well. I`m fine, just was a bit naughtie yesterday. I had 2 glasses of baileys and chocolate (a few from a milk tray). I enjoyed the baileys but not the chocolates. One of those nights that you`re forced to watch sports and somehow manage to stuff your face without justification. One thing is for sure, I`ve begun behaving myself today and I`m going to follow it through. Well, I`ll let you know soon enough.
  7. HDmama, good to read from you. Hope you enjoyed your break. LOL. I`m sure the 4lbs will fall off soon. I`m doing well so far but it will be great to reach my goal at a point. Need to get my trainers on.
  8. Please join me in listing your wow moments here. It does not matter how minuscule you think your achievements are, I feel that they could still be inspirational for others. I read a lot of challenge / re-commitment threads and I feel that we need one full of successful / inspirational stories. I will kick start the thread with my most recent wow moments. Shopping on New Year`s Eve with the hubby, met a friend we have not seen for over a year now. She said hello and Happy New Year to DH and proceeded to ask whether I was his sister. She then said, tell the Mrs I say Hi and will see her shortly. I responded by saying the Mrs. says Hi back and we should really get our diaries to schedule that meet. Imagine her face? Shopping is fun now because everything / anything looks good on the frame. WOW I must also state that this is the 1st X`mas period during my adult life that I had enjoyed as much as I could without weight-gain at the end or feeling the need to go on a diet soon afterwards. Feeling well and not lethargic as usual.
  9. How sweet sugarbaby is, Leigha. Enjoy him/her. Home-made sausages, wow what a hobby? Any reason for that? How did the 1st counselling session with hubby go?. In relation to the weight, 137 will be out of your identified range so you will need to work a little harder then but knowing you, you will get rid of the excess in no time. Good luck. I drunk my calories during the holiday period but I`ve put a stop to that and I`m now behaving myself (ish! LOL).
  10. Jackie, if you`re anything like me, you will never feel hungry again, at least not physically. I`ve been banded since October, 09 and have never been hungry since. That, however, does not stop me from eating, especially junk food. What I`ve noticed is that I always eat a lot more than I intend if I go for a long time without eating. I sometimes forget to eat and end up wih the symptoms one used to get when I was in my starving mode prior to banding such as lethargy and slight dizzines. My advice will be that you eat at a planned interval whether you`re hungry or not. I`m hardly able to eat Breakfast but I guess I sometimes make up fo that during the night. It` 5pm this side of the pond and I`ve just remembered to eat. Shameful and not advisable because that does not aid responsible weightloss and that`s why I`m forever in a stall. Don`t wait until you`re hungry to eat, adopt a responsible attitude from the start if you can.
  11. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL. May the year 2011 be a successful and insightful one. My wish is that we are all granted our wishes in the coming year. I`ve been behaving myself since the 27th minus exercise. However, shopping is giving me the exercise I need. I can`t stop shopping since everything looks great on me and the sales make the clothes and shoes even more attractive. It`s a pain giving my old clothes and shoes away though since they cost a fortune. My shoe size has moved down from 7 to 7 and half to size 6. I had different sizes of wardrobe because of my yo-yo dieting but I`ve now dropped down below all of them bar one 4 piece suite and a pair of jeans that I`m in now. That accounts for my frenzy shopping spree. This time I`m going to give the whole wardrobe away because I`m not going back and that`s a promise to myself. Hope to read from you at the other side of the year.
  12. Weighed myself this morning. I lost no weight at all but didn`t put any on. Go figure! 3lbs to goal but I guess this is going to take forever. That is if i don`t put more weight on. Hope you`re all feeling great after the hols. We`ve still got new Year`s eve and the day itself to go. Happy New Year, Ladies.

    Help

welcome to the site. Congratulations on the weightloss so far. Weight gain is not a good thing but it happens and I`ve had my fair share during the course of my weightloss journey. Are you due a fill? If you`re not restricted enough, my advice will be to get a fill instead of struggling along. Good luck and Happy New Year to you.

    Needing Support

Welcome to the site. In regards to how people respond to the wls, they vary. Not everyone sees wls as the appropriate response to weightloss. What you have to bear in mind also is that not everyone will support you unconditionally about every decision you make. My advice will be for you to be content in yourself and make the decision that best meets your needs. Did I read right that you`ve gone from size 12 to 24 in 2 years with your illness and pregnancy? Did you manage to lose any weight post the birth? Weight issues can be real hussle and depressing. Ignore negative comments and do what`s right for number 1. Good luck on the journey.
  15. Wow Cindylou, 4lbs over the holidays is great! Well done, Girl. I will weigh myself tomorrow morning to see how I did.
  16. Well, let`s start with the pre-christmas week challenge, when I weighed myself last friday i had lost 3lbs. Not 5lbs as predicted but it felt good having those 3lbs come off because I knew I was going to over-do it during the X`mas period. That said, the band did not allow me to binge! I`m so greatful to it. I drunk a little and ate a few chocolates. Well, when I say a little, I mean about 4 glasses of mulled wine (heavier on brandy than orange juice since it was home-made), half a litre of baileys, 2 large glasses of white wine and a glass of champagne over the course of the X`mas week. Believe you me, this is a tiny fraction of what it would have been two years ago. The band took well to the alcohol until yesterday when I tried a glass of mulled wine and it came right up again. I guess I`m done for the holidays. I also had just about 50gms of chocolate! Go figure. The food intake as a whole was brilliant. I guess I should say tahnks to my band. It`s gone pretty tight since yesterday though. X`mas was good but busy as usual. The in-laws stayed for 4 days. Well, enough about me. How did the X`mas go, Girls? Hope it was enjoyable and not guilt-ridden for any of you since we all need space to enjoy life. Please let me know how it went. If I don`t read from you prior to the new year, I wish you a successful and peaceful one.
  17. The baking periods are always the ones. It amazes me how easily cakes and processed carbs slide down. Well, if you`re going to indulge, enjoy yourself doing so because at 135 you`ve earned the right to have an excuse month, hun. However, I`m glad Thanksgiving is not a big thing this side of the pond. Most of us therefore don`t indulge from November to January. We start over X`mas and carry on until the New Year. About loving your band, so you should, girl because when / if that tool works it`s a fabulous invention. I know that without it, I would still be Yo-Yoing which is not healthy. Well, let`s know tomorrow whether the cakes made any difference. Have great weekend girls.
  18. Of course, 1-2lbs loss is achievable. Well done for saying NO to those monster sweets. LOL. I`ve been very good on the carb front as well. 2 days without indulging in processed carbs. I`ve cut it down considerably but not reduced my calory intake drastically. That will be madness since it will lead to binging over christmas. The weather is still miserable (snow and still in the minus). Still not finished my shopping so I guess that`s exercise enough. LOL. Well, the prove will be in the pudding. No pun intended. I`ll be weighing myself on Friday. There is no change in the clothes feel though.
  19. Yes, it`s a challenge! I started today. It`s only been half a day but I intend to keep at it till X`mas day. HDmama I`m holding you to your vow, hun.
  20. LargeMediumSmall, welcome to the thread. You seem to be in a very good and peaceful space. Good weightloss as well, congrats. 5cc and you`re feeling tight? That`s great bcause I`m at 8cc and still feel slightly loose but I`m alright with that, especially now that X`mas is approaching. I`m 5.7ish and pretty athletic looking as well so one always looks slight as compared to weight. I love your spirit, hun. Keep up the good work. Leigha, you know I`m a fun, right? You`re inspirational, 2lbs gain and all. Hun I`m glad you`ve enjoyed the eggnog, cookies etc. You and I now need to get our act together in preparation towards X`mas. I`m setting a mini challenge for us. You lose the 2lbs before the x`mas and I`ll lose 5lbs. Deal? Let me know. I`m however starting tomorrow so looking forward to you joining me. HDmama, Missed you loads. Maintenance is good. Still cannot maintain as well. Either going down or up, bummer! Rein it in with us from tomorrow. Mini challenge, you say no to the cookies and candies and I`ll say no to the excessive carb I`ve been eating recently. Deal? The weather`s been pretty miserable this side of the pond. Good escape for your relatives. Still in the minus but the snow has melted where I am but there is another forcast at the moment so we are bracing ourselves for that. I guess I`m keeping warm with all the carbs I`m eating at the moment. Well it stops tomorrow so I`m meeting my challenge by X`mas. Watch this space. I`ll let you know.
  21. Good to read from you, Cindylou. Sorry to hear about the issues you`re experiencing with your son and I`m glad the med has started working. I`m praying for both of you. It`s good that amid all that you`ve managed to maintain the weight. I`m doing brilliantly. Hope you`re all doing well.
  22. Weighed tthis morning. 2lbs lost in about 3 weeks but not complaining because I feel really good. Not got to goal yet which means that I`m not the lowest in weight I`ve been since my early teens. I`m definately skinnier though so I don`t know how that works! I`m going to get to goal but probably not this side of christmas but I`m not complaining. Hope you`re all doing well.
  23. Just an update. By the feel of the clothing and reflection in the mirror, it seems like I`m still losing weight! it feels good and exciting but still waiting till Friday to weigh myself. Who knows I could be disappointed as it could just turn out to be inches lost. If that`s the case, it will be a miracle since I`ve not been exercising lately. Nevertheless, who cares? All I know is I`m feeling wonderful but it could only be that I`m in a manic state and will soon fall flat. I just want the feel good factor to last until Friday! Are you all preparing for Christmas or it`s not a big deal that side of the pond? I`m running a bit late but I`m usually a last minute person so it`ll get done eventually. Let me know how you`re all doing. Has anyone read an entry from Cindylou? I`ve not read from her since she spoke about the TT. I`ll pm her to find out how she`s doing.
  24. Leigha, way to go! Still being at 134lbs means that your maintenance plan is working even when you over-do it a little???? during holiday periods. That`s inspirational. HDmama, good to read from you. Whoever thought about the change obviously did not think about us, the techno / IT-phobs. The only notification of entry that I`ve received so far since the change was chica`s. It`s good that you maintain your weight after the holidays` feast. Hope you enjoyed yourself. In regards to the exercise, same here, I haven`t been exercising for a while now as well. We`re still snowed under this side of the pond. I have a feeling I`m at goal so I`m going to weigh next Friday and let you know.
  25. Hooray, I got the notification through my email this time! We`re getting there. Chica, you`ve lost 25lbs within 2 months. That`s great, congrats hun. I`m glad you`re enjoying the exercise because it helps a lot. I bet you feel better already and Girl, a year soon comes around and I`ll be keeping an eye on your progress and do the happy dance with you in October. You will br fine. You know where I am if you need support, hun. Keep up the good work.
