I started thinking of having the lapband surgery back in September of 2008.  Had an appt set up and chickened out.  Then in January of 2009 I saw Dr. Savoie for a hernia and he asked if I had ever considered weight loss surgery.  He could remove the hernia but there was a 50% chance of it returning because of my size.  So I took all the info home, researched and decided to go ahead with the blood work and urine analysis to see if I was a canditate.  Got the results back in Febuary and was approved for Surgery.  Then saw Dr. Savoie again at the beginning of September so they could weigh me, talk about after the surgery diet etc etc.  My next appt is Oct 19 and I'm hoping this is to go on the 2 week slim fast that you need to clean out your liver.  So I'm so excited and am hoping that by the first week of November my surgery will be done!!!!
