What if the band is slipped?
Jennifer Crutcher posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What will happen if the band slip? And how it can be fixed? -
Any idea about lapband suregon Dr. Miguel Zapata? My friend has suggested me about Dr.Zapata. I have researched about him on th web and found that he is an experienced surgeon doing bariatric surgery for the last 10 years or so in CIMA Monterrey, Mexico.

The most obvious difference is that the band can be adjusted after surgery as per your requirement. Because lap band surgery is minimally invasive, the scars are minimal compared to gastric bypass surgery. Patients usually have less pain, shorter hospital stays and a shorter recovery period. The lap band surgery for loosing weight has fewer risks and side effects compared to gastric bypass surgery.

Losing hope...what now?
Jennifer Crutcher replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
saying the same 'don't give up'. My friend had actually gone through this. She was totally frustrated as she was not not losing much weight. But after suregon's advise, she continued her daily programs like following exercises and diet regularly. After more than 6 months of doing so, now she is losing her weight, though not rapidly. Have patience and don't loose hope. -

As these are your first time appointments, go for it. Then if needed, go for the second time. The point is you need to be convinced about the procedure. Ask as many questions to your surgeon to get a clear picture. -
0 pounds in 6 days!

Don’t get frustrated. Loosing weight is not an overnight phenomenon; it takes months, even years, to loose that added weight. Staying with the nutritional diet and exercise program during these critical periods is essential if you want to continue to lose weight in the long run. -

Have u decided your surgeon and place where u want to get it done? If not, think of Mexico. The cost of lap band surgery comes in between $6000 to $10000 in Mexico. Adding other additional costs such as-airfare, car rental, hotel stays etc. to it also, you can save up to 40 to 50% of your cost compared to U.S. -

Surgical procedures-be it lap band or gastric bypass vary considerably in complexity and specialized training is needed to perform them. It can lead to severe complications if not done correctly. You can go online, participate in surgery-related forums, discuss with your family doctor and previous patients of potential surgeons to get prior information about your surgeon. I can suggest you one surgeon in Mexico,i.e, Dr. Zapata. And the important thing-Be brave. -
Lap band surgery- U.S or Mexico
Jennifer Crutcher posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are many LAP-BAND clinics offering the procedure in both U.S and Mexico. The cost of LAP-BAND surgery has been decreasing in the United States over the past few years. The two main reasons are- the increased number of surgeons performing the operation and the competition from other foreign countries like Mexico and India. my problem is where will I do it? My friend suggested me to go to Monterrey, Mexico and she is in favor of Dr. Zapata. Any suggestions please?
