Well, I am adjusting my goal for this challenge. I hope no one minds. I think I can loose 10 lbs this month with the incorporation of exercise and if I hide all the kids Easter candy. I think I was a little too ambitious this time. But I feel good about the new goal!

OK - so I have not been loosing very fast lately. I know it is mostly water related. I have just not been drinking my water. I will think, oh, just too busy. But it makes such a difference I just have to do it. The good news is that we went on Spring break vacation and I did NOT gain any weight. That is the first time in my life I have gone on vacation (eating out all the time, etc) and not gained weight. One time I gained almost 20 lbs on vacation....yckky gross! I may not make my goal...but I am troop on to get as close as I can!

Got my fill this week - down 3 lbs already. Hunger just magically went away. I guess i have needed a fill for a while. Funny how you know this is so hard on your own, but, I keep trying to do it. I think this fill is going to last me for a while. This is the first time since right after the surgery that 1/2 of food does actually fill me up. Now I really have to work on getting my water in and counting my protiens and I think this next 25 should be not so hard.

I am in but I don't know how to make the spreadsheet....sorry. I start my exercise the beginning of March. And I really want to be in the onderfuls for the opening of the pool on Memorial day!

Well I did not make my goal, but, I did consistantly loose and that is a first for me. I think this 40 pound mental issue is really playing with me. I still haven't gotten in for a fill, but, when I do....look out! I look forward to the next challenge! -
Valentine's Day Wt loss Challenge 2010

I will not make my goal. But, I am working on my mental block of not getting down on myself. I set a pretty stretch goal. I am at a strange place right now. I have never lost more than 40 lbs before starting the upswing to a higher weight. I think another challenge would be great to help me bust thru this mental block. Cinco de Mayo or Mother's day would be good. -

Getting back in was easier than I thought. Even with a funeral and 2 snow days with the kids. Now if I can just get these girl scout cookies out of my house without too much damage it will be smooth sailing to the smallest Valentines Day in many years! -
Valentine's Day Wt loss Challenge 2010
dreamyjeannie replied to kaninag's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well - the 2 WEEKS of Christmas are over. Thank goodness! The good news is that I did not gain any from my last post. The bad news is I was down 3 and now back up 3. 18 to go and 6 weeks. It makes this much more of a stretch! But, back on track today. Funny how making my mind up to eat right makes me less hungry.....if only our stomachs weren't attached to our minds..... -

I am in. Going to try to get a picture up today too. Then I will post one on Valentines day. We should all see a difference. Sometimes I can't see my weight change (up or down.....well, now only down YEAH!) in the mirror, but, when I see a picture it really hits home. Everybody try to get a current pic in by challenge start date! -
Newly banded and Starving!
dreamyjeannie replied to Nonoma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was the same way. Basically, I had to just eat slowly and stop at a reasonable amount....until my first fill. Just be patient. I thought it would not work. I was convinced that they didn't actually put one in. Then one day I was really hungry and ate too fast...ooops, stuck....OH...it is there! Try and use this time to get used to new eating plan. Protein first, keep track of how much and get the rest with shakes. Drink your water.... I find that if I am behind on protein, my stomach will growl. I think I need to eat...but if I have a shake instead it goes away. -
Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Banded 9.24 - Thought I could go it alone
dreamyjeannie posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am looking for actually 2 someones. Someone banded about the same time so we can keep each other on track and just compare notes. And also, someone who is a pro that I can ask questions. We have a support group here with my Dr., but, I am not a big support group kind of person. Just want some tips, tricks or to ask if something is normal or not. Thanks Brenda:smile2: -
11 days post op and eating TOO MUCH!!! HELP!
dreamyjeannie replied to gkilpatrick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sitting in the same boat with you. I was banded 9/24 so 17 days. I am hungry ALL the time. I was doing great until the swelling went down. My stomach growls so much that other people comment! I am supposed to still be on mushies, but, I can't get satisfied. I don't get a fill until 10/3. I read in another post to make sure to drink all the water and add more protein suppliments. I am not sure I have been doing either to my fullest amount. I am going to try both today and see how it goes. At least I know we are in this boat together.
